Last week Brazil celebrated its national independence day. To belatedly mark the occasion, here is Rejane Vieira Costa, Miss Brazil 1972 and first runner-up to Miss Universe 1972. In this photo, she is modelling a string bikini, which shows off her curvaceous figure!
This week, on September 15, the Central American nations of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua all celebrate 177 years of independence. To commemorate the occasion, here is Miss Costa Rica 1954, Marian Esquivel, who went top 15 at the 1954 Miss Universe Pageant.
Beauty School's history students will note that all five nations made up the Provincias Unidas de Centroamerica from 1821 to 1847.
