Gigi Lai Chi stars in a Lunar New Year film One of next
Lunar New Year's films All's Well Ends Well Too 1998 (Fa Din Hei Si 1998) will star Rosamund Kwan Chi Lam, Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing, Eric Kot Man Fai and Gigi Lai Chi. Lai Chi said she has yet signed the contract but if no problem arises she will accept the offer.
In the film she will be paired with Ah Kot. She worries that she couldn't hold back the laughter during the performance. The reporters also joked that this pairing is like Beauty and the Beast. Gigi laughed, "Beauty and the Best is better than Snow White and Prince Charming. Being with the beast feel more secure!" Gigi has signed a 4 films 2 years deal with Wins Entertainment. She hasn't made one film for them yet but still is getting paid monthly. She said it feels like she is spending money she doesn't have yet. Later it will probably be difficult when she has to do four films at once and she has no salary left.

Blamed for the stars' war of words, Cha Chuen Yi tells all
Because of the heated bed scene in the film Len Len and Lai Chi broke into a war of words, director Cha Chuen Yi is laughed at as the source of the problem. When asked if Len Len visited the set to supervise, Ah Cha said, "Len Len indeed did show up at the set, but not to keep an eye on Chi Lam. She has brought gifts for everyone from her trip to Japan. That day the location had 8 levels, one is used for resting, one for the shoot. Len Len didn't appear at the shoot, as she spent a long time at the resting level, studying computers with Chung Gai Cheung."
Was the scene so hot rumors surfaced? Ah Cha felt, "That scene is about two people who were deeply in love reunite, trying to return to the way it was before, so embraces and kisses are unavoidable. Whether it is daring or not depends on the viewer."
Later, Ah Cha spoke of the progress of the film. Now there is only a little bit of work left before the entire film is completed. Actually thinking further during the shoot there were many delays in production so the shoot took longer. Luckily this time there are many product endorsements, attracted perhaps by the actors according to Ah Cha.

Julian Cheung Chi Lam explains the war of the words
A heated bed scene has caused Gigi Lai Chi and Anita Yuen Wing Yi to declare a war of words on the newspaper. Struck in the middle, Julian Cheung Chi Lam finally stood up to clarify the matter as he felt his girlfriend Len Len isn't wrong nor does the blame lies with Lai Chi, but those in the middle who fan the flame!
Earlier, when Lai Chi was doing a sexy cover shoot for a magazine, she revealed Yuen Wing Yi personally appeared on the set of Theft Under the Sun (Ho Ching Koi Tin) to keep an eye on her boyfriend Cheung Chi Lam and Lai Chi during their bed scene, which upset Len Len who swore that day she didn't even know what scene Chi Lam would be in and pointed out Lai Chi is using her to promote herself. Lai Chi fired back and the matter still hasn't ended.
On the night of the 1st, Theft Under the Sun held a wrap party, as the center of the war Cheung Chi Lam appeared gracefully. Just when the press prepared for a stand off between him and Lai Chi, Lai Chi was a no show.
Toward the war of words, Chi Lam stressed it was only minor turbulence. "It's minor, that day Ah Len visited the set to ask Chung Gai Cheung (director) to teach her about computers. She was downstairs while Lai Chi and I are upstairs at the set. Ah Len has never involved herself in my work."
Chi Lam revealed this matter has been settled because Len Len and Lai Chi have talked over the phone. He said, "Both of them are adults, why can't they settle these minor problems? This time I don't feel as if I was stuck between a rock and a hard place, I only laughed it off like the joke it is."
Also, Media Asia's Vice Chair Chong Jing revealed there are plans for a sequel to Theft Under the Sun. Although the story isn't set, the lead will definitely still be Cheung Chi Lam.

Gigi Lai Chi and Anita Yuen Wing Yi's war of words escalates
No one would expect Gigi Lai Chi and Anita Yuen Wing Yi would break into a war of words over Julian Cheung Chi Lam! Earlier a magazine said Yuen Wing Yi appeared on the set of Theft Under the Sun (Ho Ching Koi Tin) to keep an eye on her boyfriend Cheung Chi Lam and his bed scene with Lai Chi. Len Len days ago swore over the radio that she wasn't there to supervise Cheung Chi Lam and expressed Gigi is trying to promote herself with this matter. Cheung Chi Lam also spoke for his girlfriend, saying Len Len was only there to play computer games downstairs and didn't supervise him.
Gigi didn't back down. On another radio program Gigi angrily said, "I don't need to make up things for promotion, is there a need to? I really want to ask her to use her head and think about whether she knows what she is saying, now no one knows who is promoting herself!"
Earlier Len Len pointed out the person the magazine interview is clueless and the writer is insane.
Gigi replied, "I only spoke the truth. Others reported it as is. I only said what I saw, how can that be a promotion!"
Gigi stressed, "To sum it up, Len Len is 'sending smoke signals' to confuse everyone. This is as much as I will say on the subject, because it's pointless to keep talking about it!"

The creation of a new company by three of the largest Hong Kong entertainment organizations placed a complete halt on the film industry for 2 hours of the afternoon of the 21st because the city's top superstars and behind the scenes talents dropped the work on their hands and attended this new company's party.
On the afternoon of the 21st, a company named Ga Nin Wa (Carnival?) Film and Television Entertainment Limited announced its establishment. This company which will mainly be involved in video tape and disc rental is actually formed by the film industry's three biggest organizations: Golden Harvest, China Star and Nin Doi (Era?).
In attendance of the party besides the heads of the three companies like Choi Wing Cheung, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Heung Wa Keung, and Leung Chung Chu, were today's top stars like Leslie Cheung Kwok Wing, Andy Lau Tak Wa, Rosamund Kwan Chi Lam, Aaron Kwok Fu Sing, Charlie Yeung Choi Nei, Anita Yuen Wing Yi, Karen Morris (Mok Man Wai), Dior Cheng Yi Kin, Gigi La Chi, Hsu Chi (Shu Kei), Wu Chien Lien (Ng Sin Lin), Paulyn Sun Kai Kwan, and Kristy Yeung Kung Yu. The entire industry dropped all of its work for this party, which probably broke the record of having the strongest gathering of stars and talents for an establishment of a company. If those attending were paid fully for their appearance, the cost would be over 10 million.
CEO of China Star Charles Heung Wa Keung said of the collaboration, "The greatest reason is I hope to pool our resources to fight piracy, plus we felt the current standard of Film and Television club is making the industry shrink gradually, so the new company besides releasing video tape and disc will also release a new revenue sharing standard which will mutually benefit the rental industry." The plan will exclusively distribute films of Golden Harvest, Wins Entertainment, China Star, and Media Asia and Era's films, taking up almost half of the entire market.
Days ago, she was busy making the film Goo Jim. In it she plays a fugitive and has many scenes with Lai Yiu Cheung. The new film's producers will be Wai Kar Fai and Johnnie To Kei Fung. Siu Sin said she has signed on this film a lot time ago. Although she no longer has a contract with To Kei Fung, she felt she is a responsible actress so she still followed through with the deal.
Zhou Wen Zhao (Chiu Man Cheuk) revealed in August he would begin work on two films, one is the Derek Yee Tung Sing directed Lit Che (Express) which will shoot in Hungray. The other is a boxing story which also stars Theresa Lee Yi Hung and will shoot in Canada.

Theft Under the Sun wraps in stars' revelations
Recently entertainers like to reveal each other's secrets. After the cast of Nan Hing Nan Dai, on the 20th the cast of Theft Under the Sun (Ho Ching Koi Tin) also began their war of words in the completion of the film.
The film's leads Julian Cheung Chi Lam, Francis Ng Chun Yu, Michael Wong Man Tak, Gigi Lai Chi, So Chi Wai and others gathered at a school in Shatin for the final scene which has Cheung Chi Lam being awarded for breaking the case.
When the shoot began, everyone did their parts, but when the film wrapped, the cast gathered outside to joke around. The first was Ng Chun Yu who pretended to be angry, "That So Chi Wai isn't professional at all, constantly messing up his lines and making the rest do another take!"
So Chi Wai struck back, "Lai Chi is always late, Chi Lam always leaves early!" When Chilam heard, he joined in, "Wong Man Tak isn't much better, cursing all the time." Wong Man Tak of course didn't take to that kindly, "Chilam is a pervert and always leaves early, you are even worse." Not only did they continue like this, they even deliberately imitated the expressions of the cast from Gan Hing Gan Dai, after which they all cracked up in laughter.
Since signing with Media Asia, Chi Lam has a few action films on his hand, besides Theft, the soon to begin production G4 is also an action film. He said this is the company's plan when he signed because action films have a larger market, but he also hopes to change the genre after a few action films, like comedy or horror and not to be limited to one genre.

The Edmond Leung Hong Man, Gigi Lai Chi, Tsui Kam Kong starred 97 Dai Lik Shui Sau (97 Strong Sailor) has been sued by the copyright owner of American cartoon Popeye, King Features Syndicate, as director Ma Tin Yiu and his Cheung Sing film company is charged with copyright infringement and asked to damages. So, while the trial went on the film cannot be released. Director Ma Tin Yiu recently found good lawyer friend Tse Wai Chun to help out with the legal problems.
On the 4th, Tse Wai Chun said, "This time I am helping Ma Tin Yiu as a friend. We have seen the research material and I will help him hiring an experienced lawyer to follow the case, hoping I can help him and give him some suggestions. As for whether the film can escape the ban and damages, because the trial is still occuring, I have no comments for now."
Ma Tin Yiu is very appreciative of Tse Wai Chun's help, saying, "I of course hope this matter can be resolved soon. Tse Wai Chun is a lawyer and can give me a lot of suggestions. I really would like to thank him. The cast has given its all for the film, it would be a shame for the film not to be released. I hope the injunction will be lifted soon."

Gigi Lai Chi only chooses singles
Earlier the end of the 8 year relationship between Chingmy Yau Suk Ching and Wong Jing was reportedly due to a female star Lai who seduced Wong Jing. Later it was reported that the Lai female star is Gigi Lai Chi.
Lai Chi said after returning from Taiwan, "Actually it was the reporters who suggested that I was the third party, then the rumors and gossips got worse and worse."
Lai Chi only sighed, "Perhaps it has been awhile since I've had any news, but I was expecting it. Rumors like this surfaces every half a year."
Lai Chi pointed out that the reports weren't true so she wouldn't worry about them, but of course the news still made her unhappy. When asked if she would feel awkward if she sees Dau Dau or Wong Jing in the future, Lai Chi said, "Dau Dau and I always run into each other at the beauty salon. Days before the rumor surfaced, we ran into each other there and even talked a bit. Even if we meet again in the future, there wouldn't be any problems. As for Wong Jing, if the film is right of course I would take the role. I wouldn't let this nonsense affect my work."
Lai Chi expressed she hoped to avoid these kinds of rumors. She would rather her real dates be written about. She said, "I don't want to pretend to be the girl next door, the kind that wouldn't be near any man. As long as he is single, what's the big deal letting people know. However if he has a wife, I definitely wouldn't. I don't want to destroy other people's happy family. So I hope next time it would be better gossip!"

Tony Leung Ka Fai, Chow Yun Fat, and Josephine Siao Fong Fong would give speech with different languages?
In order to celebrate the historical moment of the Hong Kong return, there would be a series of celebrations held in Hong Kong. Naturally the shows would not lack the heavy hitters, like Tony Leung Ka Fai is currently working hard on his French to use French when he, Josephine Siao Fong Fong, and Chow Yun Fat give speeches on one of the shows?
On the night of the 15th, Chung Seung Gau Chung Tin (Lit: Rush Up 9 Level of Heaven) premiered at the Wanchai convention center. The film is also selected by the official committee as one of the "Return Voyage" films. Attendees besides cast members Tony Leung Ka Fai, Gigi Lai Chi and Christine Ng Wing Mei, a number of politicians and officials also attended. The proceeds from the premiere goes to the production of the return celebration.
Speaking of the July 1st return show, Leung Ka Fai expressed he would use French to give a speech. He joked, "I would be on stage with Fong Fong Je (Josephine Siao) and Fat Gor (Chow Yun Fat). Fong Fong Je because of her victory at Berlin should give her speech in German, Fat Gor having been working in Hollywood should give his in English, as for me because I made the French film The Lover, so I have to use French. Now I am in non stop training."
"Actually I really wanted to use Mandarin, because it is easy and familiar and most importantly I didn't have to practice, but the committee wouldn't allow it."
Also, the film's female lead Gigi Lai Chi revealed in the return show she would perform with Dior Cheng Yi Kin and Jordan Chan Siu Chun a scene from A Chinese Ghost Story (Sin Nui Yau Wan). Gigi said, "I would fly around as Lip Siu Sin. Why me? Perhaps because we have always done Young and Dangerous (Goo Wat Jai), the company now wants to tell people we can do other things too!"

Mark Lui Chun Tak plays himself in his new film
In Kau Luen Kei (Lit: Seeking Love Period) Mark Lui Chun Tak would portray a Disc Jockey. Although it would be his big screen debut, he is quite confident because the character's personality is similar to his, so it would be like playing himself.
Lui Chun Tak has composed music for 30 some films. His favorite would be Green Snake and Lost and Found (Tin Ngai Hoi Guok). This time he is making this film is related to his music. The firs ttime he did music for a film was the Vincent Kuk Tak Siu written Once Upon A Time A Hero in China (Wong Fei Hung Siu Juen), after that, he became friends with Kuk. When Kuk began Kau, he felt the character would be appropriate for Mark, so he approached him with the role.
Salary wise, Lui Chun Tak directly said comparing to music it is of course less, but as a new comer in film, he is very satisfied and the compensation is more than he expected.
In this film, Leo Koo Kui Kei falls for a married wife, as he even goes as far as having a one night stand with her.
So Chi Wai in Kau Luen Kei would constantly be presented with chances to eat. He said he always dances so he isn't worried about getting fat from eating. In the film So Chi Wai is paired with Gigi Lai Chi. Perhaps because the director knows they know each other better so he matched them together. So Chi Wai said he knew Lai Chi for 10 years, as he witnessed Lai Chi first entering the business when they were dancers. Because of this, their emotional scenes wouldn't be as awkward.
Recently, So Chi Wai accepted three films in one breathe, for one of them he even has to shave his head, in the other Ho Ching Koi Tin (Lit: Passion Covers Sky) directed by Cha Chuen Yi, So Chi Wai would play a police officer, but he wouldn't have to go film in the Sino Russian border with the rest of the crew.
