Christopher George was born on Feb. 25, 1929 in Royal Oak, Michigan. His family is of Greek descent and the name given him at birth was Christos Giorgos. His father was a salesman and the family traveled with him to Ohio, New York, Chicago, Philadelphia and Washington DC. They finally settled in Miami. Christopher's brother Nick George appeared in an episode of Rat Patrol playing Sam's brother David.
Christopher married young and then divorced. His second marriage was to actress Lynda Day. The couple had two children and remained married until Christopher died of a heart attack in 1983.
