Ron Harper was born in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania and graduated from Turtle Creek High as the valedictorian. This led to an academic scholarship to Princeton University. While at Princeton he joined several drama clubs, including the University players, who did several plays during the summer. In attendance at one of their Shakespeare productions was Albert Einstein. The students asked him if he thought that acting was too risky a career to pursue. Einstein told them ,“You have to do what you enjoy most because you will be doing it for the rest of your life.” Upon graduation, Ron received a fellowship to Harvard. This would have enabled him to study law which he had always wanted to do. Instead, Ron chose to follow Einstein’s advice to do what he enjoyed most and headed for New York.

Ron’s career as been a testament to Einstein’s true brilliance. He has been an understudy to Paul Newman in the theater and a regular cast member in six different prime time series and four daytime dramas. In addition to Garrison’s Gorillas, he was in Wendy & Me, the Jean Arthur Show, 87th Precinct, Planet of the Apes, Another World, Capitol, Generations, Love of Life, Loving. Land of the Lost and Where the Heart Is. He has guested on Beverly Hills 90210, Remington Steele, Wagon Train, Thirty Something, Love American Style, Dragnet, FBI, Dynasty, Big Valley, Laramie, Thriller, Tales of Wells Fargo, Mike Hammer and most recently two episodes of Night Stand. Ron has also just completed work on a role in the Neil Simon movie Odd Couple II.

Ron also finds time to make appearances at the Hollywood Collector’s Shows as an opportunity to meet his fans. He has recently helped convince Brendon Boone to join him. Fans interested in meeting them can check out the show’s website at: http://www.hollywoodcollectorshow.com/ for their next appearance. Fans who have attended recent shows have had the opportunity to spend time with both men and enjoyed meeting the real “Warden” and “Chief”.
