Following their streak of bad luck, Quinn, Maggie, and Rembrandt slide into the middle of a demolition site, soon after which a blast goes off. Maggie wakes up to discover they have made it back to Earth Prime, and the humans hae beaten the Kromaggs...or have they? Maggie starts to notice slight mistakes, like a one star general in charge of a major operation, proving her military ability comes in handy. She 'wakes up' for a second time, discovering her and the others are immersed in a virtual reality world, which is supposed to be part of their healing process. Quinn and Rembradt soon come out of their fantasy worlds, and they realize they have missed the slide, and are stuck on this world for 9 years. Not ready to stay there that long, they set out to build a new sliding device, and are given access to various tools and machinery by the people in charge, to try and build another timer. But Quinn encounters a brain block, not being able to remember the sliding formula. He and Rembrandt escape into the virtual using the headsets left for their enjoment, only to be drug out again by Maggie. But they still are without luck. This sets up for a bad situation...not being able to find Wade, Quinn's brother, or parents for 9 years. But, through the magic of Sliders, it turns out the recent events were another of Maggie's fantasies, which were being manipulated to try and attain the formula for sliding. So, in the end, they all make it out to slide to another world.
