LOOMING PROBLEM: Casey stopped by to see how the Cummings' move was going. Sara admitted she wasn't sure if she was going back to Washington. Casey and Sara tangled over his curiosity again, and she took off. She met Melinda on the beach, and confessed she was thinking about staying in Sunset Beach since her affair with Congressman Blythe was a big mistake. Melinda deviously planned to get that printed. A distraught Sara decided to take a dip in the rough waters....

ON THE BEACH: Emily was furious when she realized Sean had given up his spot for her. She declared she wasn't a charity case! He convinced her that she was the best one for the job. The socially challenged Brad confronted Sean about his stepping down to give Emily his spot. Later, Emily spotted Sara, a swimmer in distress!

ON A MISSION: Michael was determined to follow up with the movers to find out where they had sent Vanessa's furniture. Casey encouraged Michael to fight for the woman he loved. Meanwhile, Vanessa was shocked when Virginia came to visit. Virginia warned that it was just a matter of time before Michael found Vanessa, and offered her "help." Vanessa contemplated telling Michael the truth about her illness, then thought about leaving town. But Virginia, wielding a letter opener, had another solution: Vanessa was going to have to die!

THINGS THAT MAKE YOU GO HMMM: A man arrived at the police station to inquire about his building, which had burned down while he was out of town. Gabi and Ricardo were shocked when he told them the address of Ben's warehouse! The man explained he rented the building to someone, but insisted his name was not Ben Evans. However, when shown a photo of Ben, he identified him as the man who rented the warehouse. Ricardo was puzzled, and headed to the Cummings house. There he tried to contact Meg, but was unable to reach her.

FRIGHTENING DISCOVERY: Wacky Diane -- in her latest black outfit -- decided it was time to give "Steele" the kiss of death! Diane tried to make Derek drink poison, but he talked her out of it. She decided to use a stake to end his life instead! Diane put the stake to Ben's chest.... Meanwhile, Meg was discovered by Derek when trying to get away. She claimed she left something in the car and was just going to get it. Meg feigned illness, and sent Derek to get her some medicine. Meg scurried to get away, but Derek locked her in the house. As she searched the room, she discovered the package which contained ashes of a "John Doe" from June 2 at South Bay General. "Ben, no!" Meg shrieked. She freaked out when she came to the conclusion the ashes were Ben's! Derek returned and a startled Meg dropped the ashes all over the floor!
