What's New?

March 9, 2007

Just a quick, but important update: I've fixed all the links at the Download Center.

*goes back to writing "I will not neglect this site" on the chalkboard*

June 27, 2006

Updated all the pages for Season 3 and 4. Still no screencaps, though.

June 25, 2006

No screencaps for today, but I've updated all the pages for Season 1 and Season 2.

June 19, 2006

Added screencaps to A Higher Calling and Dinosaur Delirium.

Added one icon to the Icons page (1 Animated).

June 15, 2006

Most of the music-related downloads should be working now.

I've reuploaded audio files for The Stolen Smile, A Higher Calling, Dinosaur Delirium, and Moondreams. I've added some screencaps for The Stolen Smile to give people an idea of how the episode looks.

June 13, 2006

*busts out the vacuum*

Yeah, I realize I've been neglecting this site for a good fifteen months. I've been busy.

So...I've been thinking of giving this place a facelift. Not sure what I have in mind, though. I'll probably wing it. Don't be surprised if there is a sudden uprise in dead links, I'm probably moving files around and getting reorganized again.

If you haven't heard already, the WOEICS? Season 1 DVD set is now available to purchase from Amazon. So what are you waiting for?

Just so this isn't a fluff update, I've added four new icons to the Icons page (2 Zack, 1 Misc, and 1 Special icon), and deleted all news prior to January 1, 2004. It was taking up space. Hopefully if time allows I should be able to get some stuff organized before July.

January 24, 2005

Whoops, I guess I didn't have enough caffeine last time I updated.

There's one new icon at the Icons page. Tweaked the guidelines a bit.

Because nobody asked for it, I've put up a zip file for "Carmen Sandiego: The Secret of the Stolen Drums" (Playstation2 version) I scanned the entire manual (except for two pages which was basically how to set up the PS2, blabby stuff) so you can read it on your computer. The image quality isn't so good...sorry about that.

January 10, 2005

Yeah, long overdue post-holiday update. I hope you had a good time.

In case you haven't had a chance to catch up with new episodes at Yahooligans! TV, they now have the sought-after "Cupid Sandiego" online. Want to download it to your hard drive? Read my guidelines, because for the next four Mondays I'll be online AIM and MSN Messenger all day to trade episodes.

Shifted a few icons around and added a song set at the page.

Anyway (Webmistress' note, 1/24/05: I forgot to finish this...my bad.)

December 24, 2004

Just a quickie update before the big day tomorrow...

There are three new icons at the Icons page. I've also put up a tutorial on how to grab screenshots from "WOEICS?" (or any video file) episodes using Windows Movie Maker if you have Windows XP.

But wait, what if you don't have the episodes? If you hang around Laurie's forum, I trade episodes online with people. But it doesn't come without conditions I've set up. (If there are any parents reading this, I'd strongly advise you check it out if your kids want episodes on the family computer.)

Happy Holidays and see y'all around in the next year.

December 22, 2004

Oh geez...stupid Come2Store. Randomly deleting people's files when you change management is not going to win you any favors, you know. Now I have to reupload all my new audio files I uploaded three weeks ago.

Anyway, I've finished reuploading all of Season 1's wav files. (All Season 1 episode pages have been updated to reflect these changes.) I would've gotten started on re-recording audio files for "Just Like Old Times" for the holidays if family matters didn't intervene.

And speaking of family matters, all those projects-in-progress I've been mentioning the past few updates have been postponed for a few weeks. I swear I'll eventually get to them.

December 11, 2004

Oops, didn't meant for the next update to take this long...

Anyway, the morons at Come2Store are being...well, morons. Just 48 hours after they start letting uploads on their servers they cut off access, and now they're under new management. Supposedly the next chance for uploading is Dec. 18. Frankly that's really pushing my patience. I'm surprised I've stuck with them for over a year now.

The projects-in-progress are taking a little longer than I expected. Maybe when final exams are over next week I'll finish them.

I normally do not put up fan-works people submit to me, but Kassie sent this fan-art of Carmen. I promised her when I updated my website I'd post it. You can take a look at it.

December 1, 2004

Well, Come2Store is FINALLY allowing uploads. About time. I already have the audio files for "Just Like Old Times" available for download.

There are a lot of new icons too. Far too many to list them, just go there now.

I'm still trying to reupload everything to Come2Store so don't be surprised by changes that aren't mentioned here. I also have a few projects-in-progress that's consuming a lot of time. Some will come shortly, some will take longer. Hopefully the next update won't take as long.

August 29, 2004

Today is the last day of freedom before college starts for me.

I've been recording new audio files, but until my file storage host gets some new servers in November, you won't be able to download them.

New icons at the Icons page. The rundown:

3 Carmen icons
2 Zack icons
7 Miscellaneous icons
2 Animated icons
2 Mini-movies icons
2 "Special" icons
1 base

August 18, 2004

Some new icons at the Icons page. I've also put up some "special interest" icons and bases for those who want to make their own icons but have no idea where to start.

I know I've been neglecting my audio files for the past couple of weeks. The reason why there have been no new audio files: 1) I'm lazy. 2) I've been spending most of my time catching up on my backlog of video games. I should have some new ear candy sometime before the end of August.

If you're still interested in Carmen Sandiego: The Secret of the Stolen Drums, IGN.com has a new preview and more media for you to gawk at. The game looks like it's cruising straight for a firm release date on August 31.

July 19, 2004

I guess there are a few newbies here and there, for I've been inundated with lots of picture requests. This comes since the only other site (aside from the Sandiego Manor) with lots and lots of Carmen pictures was Kristy's Until Next Crime, and she hasn't updated her site in years.

Let me start off by saying this: I did not start this website for pictures. The original intent of this website was to let people download audio files. Though I may have branched off since this site's opening with the additions of old Carmen games and icons, I have always revisited my audio files, rerecording them when necessary. Up until the past few weeks, I have never taken requests for episode screenshots. The only reason why I took up on those requests was that I wanted to be nice, but apparently some people think they can continue to email me/post at the Carmen forum and request pictures at the expense of my other activities.

Unless there's a little voice in all of you crying and whining, "But I want Carmen pictures!", I will almost never take screenshots and upload them to my site. Don't even think of emailing me for screenshot requests unless you can give me a VERY good reason why I should take up your requests for grabbing screenshots from my DVDs. (Any comments, questions, complaints, flames, and hate mail will still be accepted and possibly answered to.)

If you do have a legitimate reason for needing screenshots from my DVDs and it involves "Can You Ever Go Home Again? Part One" or "Part Two," I will just simply and automatically delete your request. I've spent more hours watching and screencapping those two episodes that it took me to blitz through Final Fantasy VII, and I'm getting sick of it. So if you want pictures from either Part One or Part Two of "Can You Ever Go Home Again?", please go check this page, or this partially finished summary of "Can You Ever Go Home Again? Part One". Alternately, I have a zip file of a few pictures from both parts, go download that and stop bugging me.

Yes, I know that sounds selfish of me, considering I don't do as many updates as I used to in the past. But I have to strike a balance between my real life and my website. And now off to a different tangent...

Now that I'm finished with my rant and opinions, there are 15 new icons at the Icons page. There's also a new site I'd like people to know, and it's called Project Carmen. Also, if you're a fan of Jennifer Hale, she now has an official website where you can listen to some of the demo mp3s of her voice acting. Go check it out!

Signs that show you're getting old:
--you forget important tasks (like gettingg financial aid in--on time)
--you forget your friends' birthdays (if yyou know me and I know you, I'm really sorry about that.)
--you not only forget your friends' birthddays, but your website's anniversary as well.

I can't believe I forgot my website's fifth anniversary (May 9). Just goes to show that while you do get a little older and a little wiser over the years, you're bound to forget something in the process.

While I'm waiting for Come2Store to allow uploads again, I've been making Carmen-themed icons/avatars. They're great if you want to use them for blogs and forums. There are currently 27 icons, and here's the rundown:

--8 Carmen icons
--1 Ivy icon
--4 Zack icons
--2 Chief icons
--3 category-less icons
--4 animated icons
--5 mini-movies

Just be sure to read all the fine print on the icons page and you'll be on your way.

April 26, 2004

Hm, didn't notice that it was still 2003 on the website. That one's fixed.

Yahooligans! TV now has a few of the Carmen episodes online, namely "The Stolen Smile," "A Higher Calling," and "Dinosaur Delirium." So if you don't have Carmen in your area, you can now get your daily Carmen dose commercial-free (unless you count McDonald's stupid rap ads.)

March 16, 2004

New and updated wav files for Follow My Footprints.

March 8, 2004

Added a new link to the Secret of the Stolen Drums page. Cleaned up the page, too.

March 6, 2004

Something worth noting about:

If you've been keeping up with news lately there are a bunch of viruses spreading around the Internet, particularly the Netsky, MyDoom, and Beagle varieties. If you find any suspicious emails with attachments, it's likely you have received an email with a virus attached--DELETE THEM IMMEDIATELY! Fortunately I haven't had a virus come by in my inbox, but if you see one that looks like it came from my email address, remember this: The only time I ever send email is to reply any questions I receive in my inbox.

Minor news:

Date revision on the game page.

If you've been having a hard time tracking the "Into the Maelstrom" and "No Place Like Home" DVDs, you can now buy them at GameStop.com for $8 USD online. If you don't have a credit card for online orders, you can always try heading to the nearest GameStop location...but I wouldn't count on it.

February 14, 2004

Been thinking of getting that new Carmen game for your Valentine?

For those of you who are into gaming and have been tracking this game for quite some time, here's what I have to say: Don't bother looking for it in stores this month. It's been slated for a March release according to BAM!'s page, but when there's a potential June release...well, if I were you, I'd take all that energy and time you've been wasting looking for this game and go do something more productive. Like playing Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles. Or actually doing your homework. The game's got its own page here, and all future updates regarding about this game will be directed to that page.

And as if I haven't inflicted enough pain on you yet, I bring you new sound files from a not-so-new episode: Cupid Sandiego. In case you haven't figured it out, it's Valentine's Day today. (I can hear it coming from you: "Like we care.") If you haven't seen Cupid Sandiego, I have set up safeguards to strongly discourage you from clicking on the link, unless you really don't care for spoilers. Then I can't fault you for that. (And no, you can't blame me for spoiling Cupid. I warned you.)

January 6, 2004

Well, I hope everyone who's visited this place has had a nice happy new year, now that we're back into the daily grind.

New release dates:
Amazon.com--February 14
EBgames.com--still January 20
Gamestop.com--January 13, for the Xbox version, February 10 for the Gamecube and Playstation2 versions.

Site news:

New and updated sounds for Boyhood's End, Part One, and Boyhood's End, Part Two. Warning: There's a poor-quality audio file in Boyhood's End, Part Two. I'll fix this one once I find out where I placed my backup copy of "Boyhood's End, Part Two."

Updated links for Just Like Old Times. No need for deadlines on the Boyhood's End audio files, all of them are at Come2Store.com.

I may do a page for the "Carmen Sandiego: The Secret of the Stolen Drums" game sometime in the near future. Maybe around mid-January or early February.

There's a new music file at the Download Center: It's an MP3 titled "Chorus of the Janissaries," from Mozart's opera, "The Abduction of the Seraglio." What does Mozart have to do with Carmen (other than his music appearing in the episode Music to My Ears)? "Chorus of the Janissaries" was used as the basis for the theme song of "Where on Earth is Carmen Sandiego?", but there is no actual singing in "Chorus," despite that it's part of an opera. Go check it out, it's under the "Music" category.

Next update: Maybe next week, if Come2Store is cooperative.
Definite update: Valentine's Day.
