I am Mother of the Cubone, Marowak.
Also Warrior of Ground.
Like most of the Warriors, I never had a trainer.
And I never will.
My children are rare, mothers such as myself are even more so.
Like the Warriors, I too had mourned the death of the Warrior of Rock.
But he had died with Honour.
Now I was the eldest of the Warriors.
I remain in my territory, protecting my children from those who sought to
capture them.
Many came to my territory to capture me, I never let them.
Many came here by accident, looking for a town.
I still challenged them.
Still fought them.
Now though, not as many trainers come here, having been warned about
me.
That is good.
But some come solely to attempt to capture either me or my children.
I would not let them, I'd keep my children safe.

My children are crying.
I went to them. Angry.
Angry at the fools who dare threaten my children.
I recognize my foes.
Team Rocket.
I have no qualms about killing them.
They are cruel humans.
They kill pokemon.
The reason I know this is because they killed my mother.
My Bonemarang snaps their necks.
I leave them floating down the river.

My children are safe now.
Team Rocket is a plague among pokemon, all recognize and hate them.
But no pokemon hates them as much as the Warrior of Fire.
He has good reason to.
He wants revenge.
When the 15 Warrior congregated to meet him and welcome him among
us I talked to him.
Like some of the Warriors he used to have a trainer.
I listened to his story.
We all did.
We all knew his trainer, either by story or actually meeting him.
Humans such as him should not die.
Not like that.

Like the years before, he came.
When he first came to meet the Warriors I was shocked.
Never in all my years had I seen a pokemon like him.
He was Mewtwo.

Mewtwo recognized the Warrior of Fire.
We all asked how. None of the Warriors had ever been recognized
before.
He told his tale.
And the Warrior of Fire remembered everything.
Tears came to his eyes when he learned of the trainer's death.
It seemed he owed much to the boy.
In a sense, all pokemon owed much to the boy.
Perhaps we can still repay him.
His offspring.
The Warrior of Fire only knew his age and what he looked like.
Mewtwo knew where he was and who he was with.
A Charizard named Inferno, a red haired girl, and a talking Meowth.
It shouldn't be hard to recognize him.

Now I am back where I belong.
In my territory with my children.
The Sandslash was kind enough to look after them in my absence.
No trainers had come while I was gone, good.
The Sandslash would have died to keep them safe.
He may be weaker than I, but his heart is just as strong as my own.
I went to my children, the smallest was being picked on again.
While I was soothing her tears I heard voices.
Human voices.
I knew letting you lead would be a bad idea a male voice said.
Nonsense, besides I wanna catch one of the Cubone that's around here
replied a girl's voice.
I know, but that's not a good idea. Remember what the guy said about
the Marowak? The boy's voice cautioned. He had sense.
So what? Ivysaur will take care of it.
My blood was beginning to boil.
I'm tellin' you this is a bad idea. Cubones are rare as it is because of
trainers like you. Marowaks are practically non-existent because they're
hard to control. I say leave 'em be.
The boy did have sense, I could get to like him. Maybe. He knew of our
problem.
But the girl was callous.
Da kid's right, Marowaks are tough. I speak from poisonal experience.
A different voice sighed.
Two males, warning the girl about her decision. She wouldn't listen? I'd
make her listen.
I was the Warrior of Ground.

Sandslash came to me, telling me about the intruders as he always did.
Two humans, a boy and girl. A Charizard with a jacket and a Meowth.
Could it be him?
His offspring?
If so, then the third voice belonged to the Meowth.

Go Ivysaur! The girl shouted. I heard a familiar wail.
My child!
Musashi don't! Keep Ivysaur away from the Cubone Inferno! I don't
really want to face the Marowak's wrath. The boy shouted.
I ran to the scene and saw the boy covering the girl's mouth with his
hand. Stopping her from shouting orders.
The Charizard, Inferno, was keeping the Ivysaur away from my smallest
child.
She was crying.
I screamed my battle cry.
The boy and girl paled.
Then the Rockets came.
The boy and girl's pokemon were called out to fight them.
I looked desperately around for my child.
She was hiding behind the leg of the boy.
I ran to get her to safety.
Dewgong, Ice Beam! Shouted the male Rocket.
It was heading toward my child!
The boy saved her, but his legs were frozen.
Inferno! He cried as he fell.
I went to help.
Together, Inferno and I sent the Rockets far away.
My hard gaze softened as I took my child from the arms of the baby
Clefairy the boy had given her to.

I let them stay for the night.
We talked while the boy warmed his legs.
I watched my smallest child, she stayed by the boy's side.
She asked to stay with the boy.
I agreed.

I am Mother of the Cubone, Marowak.
Also Warrior of Ground.
And one who owes a great debt to the boy, Satoshi.
