Faithe-- Chapters 20 & 21

Ilias and Faithe are still in the study, but now Chrystos had joined them.
“I find it hard to believe that you would join us.” Chrystos said.
“I’m a Cassadine aren’t I? I just want what’s rightfully mine,” Faithe smiled deviously, “And I wouldn’t mind what’s rightfully every other Cassadine’s either.”
“You aren’t a Cassadine by blood”
“Legally I am.”
"Is there any chance of bringing Elizabeth over to our side?" Ilias asked.
"No, I don't think so, she's loyal to Lucky and Nikolas." Faithe said.
"We don't need Elizabeth or Faithe." Chrystos said in a hushed tone.
"I think you need all the help you can get." Faithe said defiantly.
"And what kind of help do you think we need?" Chrystos coldly.
"Expert help." Faithe said smiling.
"What kind of expert are thinking about." Ilias asked interested.
"Luke Spencer." She said firmly.
"What help would he be to us?" Chrystos snapped
"He knows Stefan and Helena better than anyone, and he hates them possibly more than you two do."
"We kidnapped his son why would he help us?" Chrystos cried
"Well if you gave him his son back he would probably help us." Faithe said as if she were talking to a five-year old. "Also if Luke is on our side that means that Lucky will be on our side too."
"Won't he stand by his brother?" Ilias asked.
Faithe pause as if to think over the answer. "If forced to choose between his father and his brother he will choose his father." Faithe said decidedly. "If we have Lucky we also have Liz. And by having Liz on our side we could also get Alexis to help us, she could be very useful. And she works well with Luke." Faithe said smiling.
“I think it’s a good idea.” Ilias said.
“What?!” Chrystos exclaimed.
“Spencer could be of help to us”
“It could be a trap, we can’t trust her.”
Ilias leaned over and whispered into his father’s ear, “Don’t worry about Faithe, I have her under control.” Faithe heard this and was smiling on the inside.
“So how do we contact Spencer?” Ilias asked Faithe.
Faithe took a pen and paper off of the desk; “Here is his telephone number and email address.”
“What about his wife.”
“Don’t worry. To Luke everything comes second to vengeance, even Laura.” She lied.
Ilias and Chrystos looked at each other, a silent debate passing between them. Then Ilias turned back to Faithe, “You’re right we will need Spencer.”
“Good. Well, if we’re all done here I think I’m going to try one last time to get Liz to see things our way.” She said smiling. “I trust I will se you gentlemen at dinner.”
“We will see you then.” Ilias said as Faithe shut the door on her way out.
“The obsession you have with her is dangerous.” Chrystos warned.
“I can handle her Father. She is not a threat to us.”
“Spencer could be a trap”
“It’s possible, unlikely but possible. She still has feelings for me and she has betrayed her friends. I believe her.” Ilias said evenly.
“I don’t trust her, she is just like her father. But I trust you and your instincts.” With that Chrystos left the room.

Lucky and Nikolas were pacing around the room in anger. Liz was sitting on the couch deep in thought. Something about this didn’t feel right to Liz.
“I knew we couldn’t trust her!” Nikolas growled.
“It doesn’t make any sense.” Liz said quietly to herself.
“How could she still love him after everything he’s done to her?” Nikolas asked almost to himself. Lucky felt sorry for his brother, he knew Nikolas had feelings for Faithe, even if he didn’t want to admit it.
“I can’t believe she did this to us, my father even trusted her!” Lucky ranted.
“We have to find a way out of here, and quick.” Nikolas said.
Liz looked at the two of them, if the situation were different she would be laughing her head off. They both seem to be having different conversations.
“Look maybe she got scared that we’d never get out of here and she’s joining Ilias in an attempt to save Nikolas.” Liz said trying to suggest some rational explanation for Faithe’s behavior.
“Liz she doesn’t care what happens to me, she just wants the Cassadine money and power. It would be perfect revenge for all that the Cassadines have done to her.” Nikolas said, still pacing.
“She never struck me as a power hungry person, and she’s never once mentioned anything about wanting revenge.” Liz pointed out.
“Elizabeth, she betrayed us!” Lucky said raising his voice a little.
“I know; I’m just trying to figure out why.” Liz said helplessly.
Lucky looked at her affectionately. He loved her big heart, but sometimes she was too trusting.
Just then the door opened and Faithe walked in looking like the cat that ate the canary. “Hi guys” she said nonchalantly.
“ ‘Hi guys?’” Lucky mocked. “Faithe, you just switched sides and then you walk in here like nothing’s happened.” Lucky yelled. Nikolas came to stand next to Lucky.
“You betrayed us!” Nikolas yelled.
“We tried to help you!” Lucky yelled
“We risked our lives for you!”
“My father trusted you!”
Faithe stifled a giggle. She wondered if she should tell them the truth; watching them like this was just too fun.
“Are you two finished?” She asked amused.
“Yeah, and what do you find so funny?!” Lucky asked exasperated.
“Good.” Faithe said and then reached into her pocket and took out the scrambler that Kassiani had earlier and pushed the button that turned it on, making the listening devises Ilias had in the room useless. She walked over to the chair and let out a big sigh as she flopped down into it. “I am so exhausted, do you know how much energy this takes?” She said dramatically.
Nik and Lucky walked over to her, both confused. “What?!” they both demanded.
Faithe looked at them, amused. “You guys didn’t actually think I’d betray you, did you?” she said trying to look hurt. “I mean, I know I’m a good actress, but I thought you had more faith in me.” She was barely containing her laughter.
“Huh?” Lucky said, still a bit confused.
Liz burst out laughing and Nik and Lucky both looked at her like she was nuts.
“I knew it!” Liz said victoriously after she recovered from laughing. “I knew you wouldn’t that to us without a good reason.”
Faithe smiled approvingly at Liz, “Thank you.”
Nikolas sat down on the couch and put his hand to his head like he had a headache. Lucky shook his head, completely exasperated.
“You know, you and my cousin Carly would get along great!”
Faithe seemed to be thinking about it, “Yeah, we probably would.” She said smiling.
“So do you want to let us in on this ingenious plan of yours?” Nikolas said, not finding the situation very amusing.
“Well you guys have to stay mad at me if this is going to work. All I’m doing right now is feeding Ilias’ greatest weakness, his ego.” Faithe smiled, feeling very proud of herself.
“Tomorrow things are gonna change” Faithe said as she leaned conspiritoriusly in toward the group. “Here’s what you guys need to do…”

The next morning

Luke stepped off the tiny boat onto an island off of South America. ‘What is it with Cassadines and their islands’ He thought to himself. The guard that had escorted him led him up a path that led to an enormous house. “Mansions, they always live in mansions.” Luke muttered to himself.
Luke didn’t quite know what to expect form this little meeting. He smiled as he looked down the beach and saw a few dark figures creeping up towards the house.

Inside

Ilias put down the phone and looked at Faithe.
“Spencer just arrived.”
“Good, so we’ll explain the plan to him and then bring the others down.”
“Right, are you sure that he’ll accept?” Ilias said almost nervously.
“Ilias, darling, you have to trust me.” Faithe said in a soothing tone, “I know Luke Spencer. He will do anything in order to save his son.”
“I don’t trust you Faithe.” He said warningly
“And I don’t trust you, but that’s beside the point.” She shot back. “Are you worried about Chrystos?”
Ilias looked at her astonished, “I am NOT afraid of my father!”
“I never said that, you just did.” She pointed out.
Ilias groaned and Faithe smiled with satisfaction.
“You do know that you’re the only one who can make me do that don’t you?” He said smiling at her.
“No, what?” Faithe said skeptically
“Make me tell the truth without me even realizing it. Not even Kassi can do that.”
“I know how your mind works, as scary as that might be.” Faithe said laughing a little.
Ilias was about to say something when a guard entered and announced Luke’s arrival.
Luke walked in slowly and surveyed the room, almost as if he were examining it for escapes or flaws. His eyes drifted to Ilias sitting in the chair at the desk and seemed to be sizing him up. Ilias grew a little uncomfortable under Luke’s gaze.
Faithe smiled to herself ‘He’s still got it’ she thought to herself.
Then his cold eyes settled on Faithe, who was standing behind Ilias “Et tu Faithe?”
Faithe shrugged her shoulders nonchalantly, “You know me Luke, I always take the smart route.”
Luke shook his head in disgust at her apparent betrayal. Then he turned back to Ilias. “Why am I here?” Luke said shortly.
“Getting right to the point, I like that.”
“I don’t care what you like.” Luke scoffed.
“You had better care or else you will never see your son again” Ilias said coldly.
Luke leaned over the desk towards Ilias, “If you hurt my boy, I’ll pull your brain out through your nose!” He said in a voice that was to be taken seriously.
“Now Luke, there’s no need for violence.” Faithe mockingly scolded, “Lucky and Liz are both fine and will remain so. We just want a little help from you.” Faithe had to admit Luke was playing this to the hilt.
“Why would I help you?” He said staring directly at Ilias.
Ilias was about to open his mouth and threaten Lucky again when Faithe put a restraining hand on his shoulder and spoke. “Because you can help us bring about something you’ve always wanted.”
Luke raised an eyebrow, silently asking her to continue.
“The destruction of Stefan and Helena.” Faithe smiled
Luke sat down in the chair and put his feet up on the desk. “Intriguing, how?”
Ilias had to admit Faithe appeared to know how to handle Luke.
“Ilias is next in line for the inheritance if anything should happen to Nikolas…”
Luke almost swallowed his tongue; “You want to kill Prince Nikki? That is the worst plan I ever heard of, not only will Stefan and Helena kill you, Laura will kill ME if I had any part in it!” Luke said amused a little that Ilias might be that stupid.
“If it were my father’s decision that is what would happen.” Ilias said.
“But it’s not going to happen,” Faithe said firmly and then added, “Unless absolutely necessary.”
“So how do you plan on gettin’ your dirty little mitts on the Cassadine legacy?” Luke said incredulously.
“Well Ilias claims that Liz is a Cassadine.” Faithe paused to let this wash over Luke. Of course Luke looked at her like she was nuts. “We don’t have conclusive proof, but I’m sure if we can get Alexis to listen us we might be able to get her to agree to a DNA test.”
“Tash is her mother!?!” Luke exclaimed taking his feet off the desk. Faithe winced, Luke was genuinely surprised at this, and she hadn’t gotten a chance to tell him in the email that she sent him.
“I assure you it’s true.” Ilias said firmly.
Luke smirked, “I’ve never taken a Cassadine’s word for the truth, and I ain’t startin’ now.”
“Liz doesn’t believe it either, so it would be in everyone’s best interest to get Alexis and Liz tested.”
Luke only nodded.
“I am legally a Cassadine and once Liz is confirmed as one the three of us together might be able to contest Nikolas’ claim.” Faithe explained.
“But the Dark Prince has a firm claim on the title.” Luke said eyeing Faithe, wondering if she told Ilias about Nikolas’ paternity.
“We can always use the legitimacy angle. Since Laura was still married to you when she married to Stavros the marriage was invalid. It’s not a sure thing but if the three of us stand against him our chances are good.” Faithe was grateful that she had come up with some way not to tell Ilias about Nikolas’ father.
“So why do you need me?” Luke asked
“We need an expert on Stefan and Helena. We need to know what strategies they would take to stop us." Ilias said.
“And we thought you might find it fun.” Faithe said with a playful grin.
“You were right.” Luke said
Faithe smiled and looked down at Ilias. “Told you so. Have the others brought down here.”
Ilias signaled the guards and Faithe walked over to Luke.
“You sure are enjoying being ‘Lady of the Manner’” Luke said in an amused tone.
“Who thought giving orders would be so fun?” Faithe said smiling.
Ilias stood and walk over to stand next to Faithe, “Suits her doesn’t it. It is her destiny to rule the Cassadines.” He said with an evil grin.
Faithe smiled sweetly up at him, “No. It is my destiny to make sure you get everything you deserve.”
Luke was barely able to swallow his laughter but Ilias didn’t notice.
