"My God, John. Why did you do it? Why did you kill Greta?"
"Roman, please don't ask. Please!"
"John, it's just that I don't see why you did something so horrible."
"Listen, man, I really value our friendship, so please don't hate me when I say, SHUT UP!"
"But Marlena!"
"What about Marlena, Roman? What? Are you going to say how bad you feel for her? Welll let's get one thing straight, YOU are the one who brought Greta to the hoapital this morning. If you would have locked her up in the first place, she would still be alive. Plus, do you realize that Marlena and I should be husband and wife right now, but instead I'm going to jail and she's alone. Roman, I love Doc and I know that you do, too, so why don't you just turn this car around and take me to her?"
"John you know I can't do that."
"You can't or just won't?"
(Roman slams on his breaks and glares at John)
"Let's get one thing straight, I CARE FOR MARLENA A LOT! Plus, do you realize that everyone is suffering here. Not just you and me. Bo, Hope, EVERYONE! Now I have a job to do and you should respect that."
(They arrive at the police station)
"Well, here we are."
"John save the smart remarks!"
"My God Roman, can I please take these stupid handcuffs off?"
"John, you know..."
"Come on toss me the keys."
"All right. Here you go."
(John unlocks the handcuffs.)
"Hey thanks!"
"John, come on inside and we will go ahead and get the paperwork done."
(As Roman looks back he notices that John has escaped. We then see John running down the highway."
"I'm coming, Doc. I have to see you! I have to be with you!"
(We then see a huge truck coming down the road. John flage it down and asks for a ride.)
"Hey man which way are you headed? I need to get to the love of my life. She is in the hospital. Do you think you could help me?"
"I guess I can give you a lift. You're not a killer, are you?"
(John chuckles)
"No, far from it"
"Well get in man it's freezing out there."
(Just then the man turns on his radio. We then see Marlena do the same. The song "Forever Love" by Reba Mcentire comes on the radio and John and Marlena begin thinking about each other.)

(We see Marlena pick up the present that John had brought for her. She opens it and begins to look through it at her family that has been torn apart. Then she begins to cry.)

(A tear falls on a picture of John at Christmas. Marlena wipes it away and makes this vow)
"I will never give up on us, John. You mean the world to me! We share a bond unlike anyone else. That bond and our love for each other will see us through this."
(We then return to John and we see how he is yearning to be with his beloved Doc.)
Minutes and hours and years may go by

(John wispers a prayer to Marlena)
"Doc, I know that you are thinking of me. I hope you know that I love you and I am coming to you."
(Just then the song stops for a news bulletin)
Attention everyone. Be on the look out for a man wearing black jeans and a blue shirt. He is traveling on foot. His name is John Black and he esczped from police custody tonight. He is wanted for 2nd degree murder and he could be very dangerous. If you see him, notify the police!
(Just then the truck stops and John tells the man that he is John Black, but he is not dangerous. He tells the man thanks for the ride and he jumps out of the truck. We then see that Marlena has heard the message.)
"Oh no! John has escaped and I know that he is headed here, but Roman is going to have police watching my room. So I have to find a way to warn him."
(Just then Carrie and Lexi walk in. They have not heard about Greta's death)
"Hello, Marlena I have your release papers. Now all you have to do is sign them and you can go home."
"I took the time to get you a change of clothes, I hope you don't mind. Oh no what happened to your window?"
"I'll explain later, but first I need your help."
"With what?"
(Carrie's cell phone rings)
"Hello, Carrie it's John. Where are you?"
"I am at the hospital. Where are you and why aren't you here with Marlena?"
"I don't have time to explain. Just tell Doc to meet me at the heart. BYE!"
(Carrie hange up the phone and stares at Marlena with a confused lok on her fanc)
"Carrie, who was that?"
"Marlena it was John and he said for you to meet him at the heart. What does that mean?"
"The heart? Oh, I know where he is!"
"Where is he? What are you talking about? Marlena, what is going on?"
"Lexie, it is complicated. I will explain later, but now I need your help. Carrie, are you willing to help me?"
"Oh of course, but does the broken window have anything to do with why John is not here with you?"
"Marlena, what or whom are you running from?"
"Your father, Roman!"
(Marlena dashes into the bathroom. Carrie and Lexie stand dazed and confused)
"Lexie you have been here, at the hospital, all day haven't you? What has heppened here in this room?"
"I don't know the specifics, but about thirty minutes ago, something happened, something life shattering."
(Marlena comes out of the bethroom)
"O.K. girls. Are you ready? Lexie, when do you get off work?"
"After you sign these release papers, I'll be able to leave."
(Marlena signs the papers and Lexie takes them to the nurses station. Marlena then begins to tell Carrie about her plan)
"Carrie, is there anyway that I could possibly stay at your house for a couple days?"
"I thought that was the origional plan. Wait! What about John and the heart?"
"That's where Lexie comes in..."
(Marlena then sees Roman get off the elevator)
"Oh no! We have to leave NOW! Get Lexie! Let's go!"
(Lexie walks back into the room with her purse in her hand. The trio begins to leave, but they are stopped when Roman appears in the doorway)
"So ladies, where do you think you're goin? Doc, you are not leaving this hoapital!"
"Actually, Roman, I am leaving and you can't stop me!"
"Leaving? You can't leave. You just got out of surgery."
"I know and I just got released. Bye!"
(Lexie, Marlena, and Carrie walk towards the elevator. Before Marlena gets on, Roman grabs her arm)
"Doc, I know that you know where John is."
"So?"
"The fact that John is hiding out and away from the law, is not helping his case at all. There was a crime committed here tonight."
"I know that there was, Roman!"
(Marlena motions for carrie and Lexi to go downstairs)
"My child died!"
"I realize that."
"No you don't! No one realizes that a precious piece of John and I died tonight. The fact that Greta died, that is all that you are worried about. Now the entire police force is looking for John. John DID NOT kill Greta. She killed herself. YOU REMEMBER THAT!"
(Marlena then gets on the elevator and goes to meet Carrie and Lexie)
"Marlena, what is goin on?"
"Lexie, did you drive to work today??"
"Yes, why?"
"O.K. now that poses a problem"
(Carrie interrupts them)
"Marlena, will you please tell me WHAT THE H*** IS GOING ON! Listen, I know that something happened tonight. I also know that it involved you and John. Now tell me what happened! NOW!"
"The fact that GRETA IS DEAD! She killed herself. She fell out the hospital window."
"How did she just fall out od a window?"
"Lexie, we got into an arguement about my daughter. She made a smart remark and I just hit her. She then lost her balance and fell out of the window. Shortly after her fall, Roman came and arrested JOhn for mer murder."
"Why would he do that? John didn't kill Greta; nobody did. She practically killed herself."
"Pracy\tically! Carrie, if I hadn't punched her, she would still be alive. You see I was so distraught after the accudent. Therefore, John told Roman that he killed Greta. Roman then arrested him, but he must have escaped. He is now waiting for me at ST Luke's. Lexie, that's where you come in. You need to follow us there."
"Then what?"
"Here is my coat, wear it. When we het to the church, I am going to get out and you are going to take my place in the car with Carrie. As long as you have the hood of my jacket over your head no one will know that it's you and not me with her."
"Do you think that this will work?"
"IT HAS TO!"
(Lexie, Marlena, and Carrie get into their cars and leave. We then see Roman standing by the elevator)
