Laura Palmer is found dead down by the lake by Pete Martell. She is
wrapped in plastic. He notifies the sheriff. Ben Horne has a
meeting with some Norwegian investors. Ronette Pulaski
is seen walking down the railroad in shock. Later that day
special agent Dale Cooper from the FBI arrives in Twin Peaks. He is
supposed to meet
sheriff Truman at Calhoun Memorial Hospital. There he checks Laura and he
finds the letter R under her left ringfingernail. He has seen the same in
a similar case. The police
discovers the site where the murder has taken place, in a traincar.
Audrey Horne tells the investors that her friend Laura has been murdered.
They leave Twin Peaks because of this. Dale Cooper and Sheriff Truman find half
a necklace and a note in the traincar. It reads: Fire walk with me.
Cooper and Truman find a key in Laura's diary. They go to the bank and
find a copy of the magazine Fleshworld and $10,000. In the evening
Cooper assembles a town meeting to talk about the murder. He tells the assembled
about another similar murder of a girl called Theresa Banks. The same
night Sarah Palmer dreams about someone removing the necklace from where James
and Donna hid James' part of the necklace.
Episode 1 (1001) - "Traces to nowhere"
James Hurley is questioned about a video they found and about his relations to Laura. Bobby Briggs and Mike Nelson are also questioned. Later Cooper and Truman go and talk to Josie Packard about her relationship with Laura. Ben Horne discovers that his daughter had something to do with the Norwegians leaving. At the RR the Log Lady tells Cooper that her log has something to tell him from the night of the murder.
Ben and Jerry Horne go up to One Eyed Jack's, which Ben owns, after Jerry has returned from a trip to Paris. There is a new girl there. Cooper shows an unusual way to investigate, a deductive tecnique he has learned while studying Tibet, using the hand-body coordination in a certain way. Albert Rosenfield arrives in Twin Peaks for the first time. He is an expert in forensic medicine from the FBI. Cooper dreams about the Black Lodge - Mike - Bob. Mike tells a poem:
Through the darkness of futures past
The magician longs to see,
One chance out between two worlds,
Fire walk with me
Cooper wakes up and calls Truman.
Truman and Lucy come to the hotel to talk to Cooper about his dream. At the hospital Albert Rosenfield is about to drill a hole in Lauras head, but Cooper and Truman come and stops him. Truman hits him and Albert falls on top of the corpse. At Laura's funeral Bobby Briggs and James Hurley confront each other to a fight but are stopped. Leland Palmer starts crying and falls down on top of the coffin. Later Truman reveals to Cooper a secret society they have in Twin Peaks - the Bookhouse Boys. After that Hawk tells Cooper about a blackfoot legend.
Dr. Jacoby is questioned by Cooper about his relations with Laura, since he was her psychiatrist. A one-armed man is found by Hawk at Timber Falls Motel. He had a tattoo which said: "Mum". He has a friend who is a vet. Ben and Catherine is having an affair at the same motel. Cooper and Truman visits the vet-clinic and confiscates their files to look through them. Later they go to the shooting range together with Hawk and Andy. The reason is that Andy dropped his gun at Timber Falls Motel and it went off. Cooper wanted to make sure that everyone was confident with their fire-arms. Andy misses the target on all his shots. Madeleine Ferguson has arrived in Twin Peaks. She is Laura's cousin. She meets James Hurley at RR Café where she is picking up food for her aunt and uncle. When Cooper and the others go through the confiscated files, Andy finds a bird named Waldo owned by Jacques Renault. They leave to make him a housecall. At his house they find a bloody blue shirt with Leo Johnson's initials on they see that there are a connection between the two of them. Ben Horne meets with Leo Johnson down at the river. Ben tells him to set the mill on fire, something he and Catherine has planned.
Episode 5 (1005) - "Cooper's dreams"
Cooper and the gang is going through Jacques' appartment. They find an issue of Fleshworld. Cooper also finds a picture of a cabin with red drapes. They plan to visit this cabin. Audrey is planning to start working in her father's department-store. She talks to Emory Battis about it. She starts at the perfume-counter, because both Laura and Ronette worked there. Hank Jennings has been released from prison and is waiting at the RR Café, when Shelly and Norma comes back from a day of beauty. The Briggs family on a session with Dr. Jacoby. He wants to talk to Bobby alone first. Dr. Jacoby knows what Bobby is going through and makes Bobby confess about how Laura was feeling. She made him sell drugs, so that she could get it too. The police on their way to Jacques Renault's log cabin. They find the Log Lady's house first. Cooper asks the log what happened the night Laura Palmer was murdered. Then they find the cabin. There is a bird there in weakened condition. Coopers also finds a poker-chip from One Eyed Jacks. There is a party for the islandic group at the hotel. Ben has a meeting with Catherine. Audrey is watching. Ben has another meeting, with Josie Packard. Leo Johnson gets beaten up by Hank Jennings. When Leo returns home Shelly shoots him. At the hotel late at night Cooper returns to his room and find Audrey naked in his bed.
Episode 6 (1006) - "Realization Time"
Dr. Hayward and Truman is looking after the bird they found. In case the bird says something
while they are not there Cooper leaves his tape-recorder close to the bird. They plan to make
a visit to One Eyed Jack's since Jaques Renault works there. Bobby visits
Shelly at home while Leo is watching from a distance. He also hears over his police-radio
that the bird is alive. James, Donna and Madeleine listens to a tape Madeleine has found
in Laura's room. It was meant for Dr. Jacoby. At the perfume counter in Horne's department
store, one of the girls is asked to come to Emory Battis' office. Audrey hides in a closet
to see what's going on. It is about a job at One Eyed Jack's.
In the evening Cooper meets Truman and Ed before they go across the border and One Eyed Jacks.
But before they go the bird gets shot through the window. Cooper checks the tape-recorder.
The bird has been talking:
"Laura, Laura, don't go there..."
"Hurting me, hurting me..."
"Stop it, stop it. Leo no, Leo no..."
Cooper, Truman and Ed has arrived up on OEJ. Audrey is there too, but they don't know that.
She meets Blackie who runs the place.
Donna, James and Madeleine plans to get Dr. Jacoby out of his house to search for clues. Madeleine
dresses up like Laura. Dr. Jacoby receives a video and cannot believe what he sees. While James
and Donna search his house Bobby Briggs puts some cocaine inside the gas-tank on James's bike.
Episode 7 (1007) - "The Last Evening"
James and Donna inside Dr. Jacoby's appartment. They find half of Lauras necklace. Dr. Jacoby
is knocked down from behind when he sees Laura(Madeleine).
Up on OEJ. Cooper plays with Jaques as the dealer. They talk and Cooper says he is the bank
behind Leo. Jaques believes him. Asks about what happened the night Laura died and sets out a
trap. Audrey is ready to meet the owner of One Eyed Jacks. It turns out it is her father.
The police captures Jaques and he tries to shoot Sheriff Truman, but Andy saves him by shooting
Jaques. Leo has returned home and takes Shelly with him to the saw-mill and ties her up before
he sets the mill on fire. Catherine finds her and rescues her. Nadine Hurley takes a pill
overdose.
