Joey/Katie Holmes

Katie Holmes plays Joey, Dawson's friend who becomes his girlfriend on the first season. Joey doesn't know much about herself. She has a hard life: her mother died when she was a baby and her father is in jail. She lives with her sister, her black husband and their new child. Joey works on the restaurant with Bessie, her sis. Then appears, on the second season, Jack, who start working there. He's Andie's brother and fall in love for Jo. One night, they kiss and it starts a turbulence between Dawson and Joey relationship.

Katie Holmes was born in a small town, like her charater. "Like Joey, I'm a tipical small town girl", she said. "I've never been the most desirable girl in school and I've made a lot of mistakes for tinking I've knew everything". Her first appearance as an actress was in a school play, in Toledo. Years later, she went to L.A., in 1996 to start acting professionaly. As a result of it, she urned a smal part in Ice Storm. Then after finishing ninth grade, she did a lot of tests until she had Joey's part in Dawson's Creek show.
