Chapter 31
Lucas walked in as Bobbie was making lunch.
"How was your day?" asked Bobbie.
He didn't answer, but just sat down at the table.
"Honey, what's wrong?" she asked.
"My teacher called me a liar when I told her what uncle Stefan said and then everyone laughed at me." said Lucas sobbing.
Bobbie went over and hugged him.
"It's okay, honey. What uncle Stefan told you was the truth even if the teacher doesn't want to believe you." she said.
"I love you, mom." he said.
She gave him a kiss on the cheek and gave him his lunch.

Kristen was in the living room listening to the music box play. She was deep into her memories when Stefan entered the room.
"Good afternoon, mother." said Stefan.
"What? Oh, yes, good afternoon." said Kristen.
He heard the music box playing and smiled.
"I see you've found my father's music box." he said.
"It was mine." she said.
"Yours?" he asked.
"Yes. He gave it to me to remember our first dance." she said.
"I'm glad I kept it." he said.
"Nikolas told me that you saved it." she said.
"He told you the whole story?" he asked smiling.
She smiled and nodded her head. He laughed.
"I think he knows me better than I know myself." he said smiling.
"Well, he is your son." she said smiling.
"That he is." he said smiling.

"This place is gorgeous." said Alexis smiling.
"Do you like it?" asked Ned.
"I love it. Let's buy it right now." she said.
"We can't. It's already been sold." he said.
"Oh. Well, we can look for another one." she said sadly.
"Actually, this is our house." he said smiling.
"You just said it was sold." she said.
"I bought it today while Lois was distracting you." he said smiling.
"You dirty little devil." she said smiling.
He smiled and kissed her. Then Alexis's cell phone rang and she broke the kiss.
"Hello." answered Alexis.
"Hey, it's Nikolas." he said.
"Hi. What's up?" she asked.
"I'm having a surprise birthday party for my father at Wyndmere. You and Ned are welcome to come." he said.
"Thank you and thank you for reminding me that I have to go get him a present." she said.
Then she hung up and put her phone away.
"Who was that?" asked Ned.
"Nikolas. He's throwing a surprise birthday party for Stefan tomorrow." she said.
"Party? Really?" he asked.
"Yup. Never thought Cassadines had parties did you?" she asked smiling.
"I have a lot to learn." he said smiling.
"I'm glad this house is already furnished. We don't have to worry about buying any furniture." she said.
"Me too except we need to buy baby furniture and other baby stuff." he said smiling.
Alexis put her hand on her stomach and smiled.
"Come on, we better go say goodbye to Brooke and Lois." he said.
They went back next door and said goodbye.

Stefan knocked on the door to the Brownstone. Bobbie answered it and she wasn't too happy.
"What's wrong, Barbara?" asked Stefan.
She ushered him into the living room.
"The story you told Lucas about your family, he told his teacher and she didn't believe him. All the kids laughed at him and he came home crying." said Bobbie.
"Who is this teacher?" he asked angrily.
"Mrs. Lafe." she said.
"Why wouldn't she believe him?" he asked.
"She probably thought he was making it up." she said.
"I know he's very creative, but I don't think he could come up with a story like this." he said.
He started to pace and she could tell he was furious.
"What are you concocting?" she asked.
"I would like to talk to this teacher." he said.
"How about you talk to the class about your family history for show-and-tell." she suggested.
"That's a wonderful idea, Barbara." he said.
"Why thank you." she said smiling.
He smiled and then kissed her.

Nikolas waited in the living room of the Quartermaine mansion for Emily. Edward entered the room.
"What are you doing here?" asked Edward angrily.
"I'm here to see Emily." said Nikolas.
"What are you planning to do? Wisk her off to that dreary little island of yours?" asked Edward.
"Edward!" scolded Lila entering the room.
"Hello, Mrs. Quartermaine." said Nikolas.
"Hello, dear. How are you?" she asked smiling.
"I'm doing great." he said.
"That's good. How is your aunt?" she asked.
"Amazingly well thanks to Ned and the baby on the way is kicking up a storm from what I hear." he said smiling.
Edward's eyes grew wide and Lila smiled as Emily entered the room.
"Hey, you ready to go?" asked Nikolas.
"Yup." said Emily.
"Goodbye, Edward and Mrs. Quartermaine." said Nikolas.
He hugged Lila and left the mansion with Emily.
