Eva Magazine With Matt LeBlanc |

Fast cars, fights, and friends -- but Matt LeBlanc's proudest of being a mama's boy. Do you think you're good looking? Sometimes I wish I was more vain. Most of the time I don't comb my hair, I don't shave, and sometimes I don't even shower. If I was more vain, I might look a whole lot better. I only shave for the cameras. It's not really my image. Squeaky clean isn't me, that's Joey. Tell us about your bedroom. I sleep in a queen-sized bed and I have two pillows and a blanket. Sometimes I wear t-shirts and sometimes I don't -- it depends on who I'm with. I always keep the windows open. I have a great mountain view. In the morning, it's nice to wake up, look out, and feel the breeze. Still single, then? Yeah, but hopefully the right woman will soon cross my path. Life's full of little twists. The girl of my dreams could be around the corner, or sitting at a table across from me in a restaurant. I sometimes get very lonely, but I've had my heart broken a few times, so I'm taking things easy for a while until I find the right person. Been out with many women? Not recently, but I went out with a lot of girls in school. I definitely dated around. But I wasn't one of those guys who was a magnet for the girls. I had to work for it. Give us your favorite pick-up line. I'm proud to say I've never used a pick-up line in my life. I think they're a total scam. You're either really bending the truth or telling a flat-out lie. Who's no. 1 with you? My mother is the most important thing in my life. I'm a mama's boy and proud of it. Girlfriends come and go, but she's always there for me. All my drive and inspiration comes from my mom. Last year I bought her a house, and that was the happiest moment of my life. I grew up in a small, rented apartment with no money. So when I gave the house to her, she found it hard to accept. My aim was to make mom happy, but I never realized how happy it would make me. It made me feel good about myself and the life I'm leading. What turns you on? Speed is sexy. With some of the money I made from Friends, I bought a 1971 Pantera car, which goes at more than 200 mph. When I know I'm going to drive it, I get that same excited feeling as when I know I'm going to be with a lover. Do you enjoy fame? The most amazing thing is that when I was broke and couldn't afford anything, nobody cared. But now that I have some money, I get sent suits of clothes and ray-band sends me dozens of pairs of glasses. All for free. Isn't that the craziest thing? Who's your best friend? Matthew Perry gives me money to say it's him -- but not enough. Seriously though, I go to different people for different things. Davd Schwimmer has a good head for business, so if I want to run through a career problem, he's the one I talk to. Matthew's really smart about relationships and how to handle sticky situations with people. Lisa's really intelligent and incredibly funny -- she does terrific imitations that crack us all up -- and Courteney's the big sister type who keeps us all in order. Jennifer's always so kind. She's an angel. Ever been picked on? Yeah. I was walking past a bar once and saw this great bike. But as I was kneeling down, checking it out, this guy came running out. He thought I was trying to steal it and he smashed me on the head with a bottle. Luckily, the blood didn't get in my eyes, so I could still figth. I only hit hime three times, but I broke his nose, cheekbone, and jaw. Still leading a wild life? Not anymore. I'm 30 now and I'm getting to the end of my self destructive days. They came out of angst, which I don't have now. I'll probably stop smoking, partying, and all that stuff in the next year or so. I've already cut way back. Really, I'm a regular guy from a blue-collar backround and my biggest hobbies are to fix my car, fix my bike, and fix stuff around the house. What's the dumbest thing you've done? When I was 13 my cousin and I made a head-shaving pact. I had mine done first, but when he saw what a mess it looked, he tried to chicken out. But I made him sit down in the barber's chair and have his shaved, too. Who's your hero? Sean Connery as James Bond is the coolest. When I was a kid, my dad had this affinity for James Bond, so it was always an event when a Bond movie came out. We'd see it together -- it was a great way for me and dad to be mates over this super spy guy with all these gadgets. James Bond has been my hero ever since. |
