16 vs any Ten
This is the toughest
The most common of all hands of the various SUMS dealt. And these are
is the most count sensitive and easier to make
the best decision about based on the count and exactly
those attributes require that the winning player
understand the three elements needed:
You must minimize your risk to bust. Realize the times when the dealer has a better chance to bust than you have to make a hand. Or you have a chance to make a better non-busting hand than the hand that he could make.Look at the count Threshold Criteria for the
Surrender Action, that is the time to deviate from basic
and instead of hit Surrender
In the opening hand you must note the 16 vs the ten should be
surrendered. as the Little cards come out the count goes
positive and you would be correct to surrender more and more
hands. The fall off is observed against the Ace because we
have a very high count so we will take insurance, and if the dealer looks and you lose the insure bet you are now playing againist the twenty or less as applied Conventional Insurance as oppose to Early Insurance.
Threshold that you deviate from Basic and Surrender
Dealer's Upland => | 9 | 10 |
Ace |
Player's Hand | 14 | +18 | +9 | +14 |
15 | +11 | +4 | +12 |
16 | +6 | 0 | +10 |
We get a lot of Email about this idea of the expectant out come of the 16 vs the Ace. At + 10 you have to insure to get all your money back, it would seem surrender
would be more approiate at a lesser count. And Splitting at +5 you would Insure then Split, between +5 and +10, but Surrender at + 10. But remember this is the "Dynamic Count" the Insurance could be different in that it is indeed a linear count and the dynamic count is parallel. but different.
