Pinochle Deck
to
Play Blackjack ?
It sounds absolutely NUTS. But it teaches an Important Lesson about the removal of the little cards. With the Pinochle Deck, (9,X,J,Q,K,A), Double suits, 48 cards, you begin with a +20 count using the typical +/- count of Canfield. In this extreme situation one would play a strategy so very much warped that you would be correct to:
- Split 10's always
- Double A-9 vs all save Ace
- Always take Insurance
- Split the 18 (9-9) against 9
- Even Money BJ vs the Ace
- Hit 9-9 vs the Ten
- Always Split ACES.

Amazingly the Player's have a 59% edge over the House. because of the constraints applied by the rules governing the way that the house must play their hand. The same thing occurs with the any of the count systems which work so well, the player's advantage increases about 1% for every +1 of the +/- count. Here the count is +20.
