Hence one could evoke the idea of Pluto being a moon of Neptune in that, as it works out, 3 orbits of Neptune are equal to 2 orbits of Pluto. Making the Orbital period of Pluto around Neptune some 497.6 years. three orbits of Neptune about the Sun, two orbits of Pluto. Can you imagine an event that would make Pluto orbit so eccentric that it now orbits the Sun as well as Neptune? With an orbital diameter of 80 a.u. 7,383,000,000 miles.
