Chapter Fourteen



It is about 11:00 PM on Christmas Eve when Gillian heard the knock on her bedroom door.

"Who is it?" Gillian asked whispering so she wouldn't wake anyone.

There was no answer but the knocking continued. "Hold on a second." She said throwing her silk robe around her. She looked in the mirror above her bed. I'm a mess she told herself quickly running her brush through her hair. When she reached the door she opened it and looked out. She couldn't believe her eyes. There stood Ryan dressed in a suit and tie holding a single white rose.

"What... What is this?" she asked.

Ryan didn't answer but he did pull her in to his arms and kiss her.

Gillian melted against him and smiled.

When the broke apart, Gillian watched speechless as Ryan picked up a tray with a CD player on it. It also had a dish of strawberries and a bottle of champagne.

"I am making this one Christmas, you will never forget Princess." He told her setting the try down on the table.

He leaned over and switched the CD player on. A second later Shania Twain's From This Moment On began to softly play. Ryan swept Gillian in to his arms and they started to dance around her room.

Ryan looked down at her. She was smiling but has small tears in her eyes. As they danced Ryan listen to the music thinking about how the words applied to him and Gillian so much.

From this moment life has begun

Can't wait to live my life with you, can't wait to start

 Gillian looked up at Ryan thinking I am so lucky. I can't believe he went to all this trouble for this to be such a special night.

Gillian closed her eyes and swayed in Ryan's arms.

And you're the answer to my prayers from up above
All we need is just the two of us
My dreams came true because of you
From this moment as long as I live
I will love you, I promise you this
There is nothing I wouldn't give
From this moment on.
I will love you as long as I live
From this moment on
