Wild Things Poster

Starring

Matt Dillon, Neve Campbell, Denise Richards, Kevin Bacon

Plot

It all starts, when two schoolgirls(Campbell and Richards) claim that their sexy Biology teacher Sam Lombardo(Dillon) raped them. The charge goes to court but the bisexual(!) Suzie, played by Neve Campbell brakes down and confesses the two of them made the whole story up to pay their teacher back for turning them down. Lombardo gets lots of money as compensation and everything seems fine. But it turns out the two girls and their teacher planned the whole thing for the money! But now the police is onto them, then the killings start and nobody knows who to trust anymore...

What I thought

This movie has more twists than a ... very twisty thing! You never know who to believe or who the good guy is. Neve Campbell is my favourite actress and she does an amazing job in portraying Suzie. You constantly think -Oh my God, I never thought that would happen...- and right 'till the end there is one twist after the other. I recommend you see it, like, now!

K.Kline on the In and Out cover

Starring

Kevin Kline, Joan Cussack, Tom Selleck

Plot

A high school teacher (Kline), who is just about to get married, gets involuntarily `outed' when a former student, who has turned into a movie star, tells the world he gay... at the `Oscars'! He vigorously denies everything and tries to save his marriage by convincing himself that he is straight-but is he really???

What I thought

This movie had me in hysterics nearly all the time! Especially when Kevin Kline's character uses a `How to be masculine' tape (see the movie and you'll know what I'm talking about!). One more thing is the music, you'll be coming out of the theatre singing on of these two songs: `Macho Man' or `YMCA',I guarantee you. Extremely funny, Kevin Kline and Joan Cussack at their best! Astronauts before take-off

Starring

Bruce Willis, Ben Affleck, Liv Tyler

Plot

Earth is about to be wiped out, completely. A meteor is heading towards it the size of Texas! The fate of all mankind lies in the hands of a group of oil rig workers, who are to land on the meteor and, with the help of a nuclear weapon that they have to drill a big hole for, they will try to blow the meteor apart.

What I thought

This is a end-of-all-mankind sorta movie so it's bound to be a bit unrealistic, and this one is. But it is still suspense-full and even funny in places. Ben Affleck is veeeery good-looking too, some people would watch the movie just for his sake! It's good, I guess, if you're into special effects kinda movies. The best thing about it, I thought, was the soundtrack. The main song being `I don`t wanna miss a thing' by Aerosmith. If you don't go to see/rent the movie it may be worth to listen to soundtrack, as it's one of the best I've heard.

Starring

Wil Wheaton, River Phoenix, Jerry O'Connel, Corey Feldman

Plot

Four friends who all have their fair share of problems (Gordie's brother died, Chris is a juvenile delinquent, Vern's lost all his savings, Teddy's parents are insane)make their way to find the body of a boy who is presumed dead. On their way they learn a lot about themselves and each other.

What I thought

First released in 1986 this is a very `deep' movie. It deals with the issues that concern the four kids. It looks specifically at the relationship of Gordie and Chris, as opposed to Teddy and Vern, who's main concern is whether Mighty Mouse would win in a fight against Super-man. It is funny in places, but often it's a tear-jerker. If you are into action movies this is not for you. But it is a movie, that you still think about later. The young actors did a brilliant job and I recommend you rent it on video and watch it with your best friend (it's that kind of movie!)

Starring

Brad Pitt, David Thewlis, Jamyang Wang Chuck

Plot

This is a true story of Heinrich Harrer, an Austrian, leaves his pregnant wife to climb a mountain range in the Himalayas. At first he is self-centered and obnoxious, but then he is taken to a prisoner of war camp, which he escapes from. After a two year journey he arrives at the mysterious, forbidden city of Lhasa. There he gets to know the young Dalai Lama. Harrer teachers him about the world outside of Tibet and in turn learns, that fame and glory is not the most important thing in his life.

What I thought

The fascinating thing about this film was the beautiful scenery it was shot in. The Himalayan mountains are simply breathtaking. It is also interesting how Brad Pitt's character undergoes a complete change (not the mention the phony accent, that he miraculously looses after the first 20 minutes of the movie...). The relationship between him and the Dalai Lama is sometimes comical and sometimes very serious. Deffinetly worth a look!

Meet Joe Black Poster

Press RELOAD on your browser to see Joe Black vanish and appear again!

Starring

Brad Pitt, Anthony Hopkins (Duh!)

Plot

Death (Brad Pitt) has come to earth and he wants to know what it's like to be human. He chooses William Parrish (Anthony Hopkins) to be the one to show him the ropes. In return Death won't let him die right away... Parrish introduces his new `friend' as Joe Black to his family. Then Parrish daughter and Black fall in love, but she doesn't know his awful secret...

Brad bein a babe

What I thought

This is a romantic, funny and scary flick. But I guess it's mostly romantic, as you witness the love developing between Joe Black and William Parrish's daughter. Some funny scenes include, when Joe tastes peanut butter for the first time and when he's introduced to the Parrish family. The end is a bit long and you wonder when the old guy will finally die! But all in all it is a good movie and you should deffinetly see it, if you are a Brad Pitt fan ('cos he's hot in this movie!!).

SCREAM posterSidney receiving a call from the killer

Starring

Neve Campbell, David Arquette, Courtney Cox, Skeat Ulrich, Matthew Lillard

Plot

In a quiet suburban town a teenage girl is getting ready to watch a movie, when someone calls. First she thinks he has the wrong number, but then they start talking...What she doesn't know is, that there's a killer on the line, and he is already in the house...This starts the gruesome killings of many high school kids. But they seem to be after Sidney the most, and she has to find out who the killer is, before it's too late...

What I thought

Okay, after Halloween this is the scariest flick I have ever seen! I spent half the time behind my pillow. But I have to say it is a very clever movie. Half the time you think you know who the killer is, but when that person is killed too...If you scare easily don't watch it, unless you're prepared to have nightmares about Mr Ghostface! Don't miss it, though, if you're into scary movies!

Plot

Ted is a geek and when the most beautiful girl in the school asks him to the prom, he can`t believe it. Ten years later Ted is still thinking about Mary and he decides it is time to find her. He finds a private investigator, Pat Healy, and Pat finds Mary. But now he has fallen in love with Mary too...

What I thought

This movie is so dumb it's funny! Ben Stiller is the perfect Ted. You feel sorry for him, but at the same time you have to laugh. This is deffinetly worth renting.

The Titanic

Starring

Leonardo di Caprio, Kate Winslet

Plot

The unsinkable `Titanic' leaves port. On board is Rose, a rich first class passenger, who is extremely unhappy with her life. Until she meets Jack. A poor third class passenger, who doesn't have a care in the world. The two fall in love, but then... the ship sinks (there you go, I've given it away!).

What I thought

Now, there are a lot of people who say it's a crappy movie just because everyone else liked it. I'm not one of them. I've had the good fortune, if you will, to see the movie three times and I thought it got better each time. It's a love story and a tragedy and it seems so real at the same time (probably, because it was!). It is amazing, and it deserved all the awards it got!

As you can probably imagine, there are about a zillion Titanic sites out there. I have a link to one site. For more sites go to go to Movies and Titanic and it gives you a list of good sites!

Link to my modest Titanic page Romeo and Juliet movie link

Starring

Leonardo DiCaprio, Claire Danes

Plot

It's the classic love story by William Shakespeare. The son and daughter of two feuding families fall in love. But their love is destined for disaster and it seems, that the only place the two star-crossed lovers will ever be together is in paradise...

What I thought

Director Baz Lurman brings the classic tale of Romeo and Juliet up to date, by adding a few guns and and a couple of explosions. This is a great movie. It has all the original text, but it isn't hard to understand. I really liked this movie, simply because it is the greatest love story of all time. And the setting of the movie made it easy to relate to the characters. Grab your loved one and rent it...NOW!

the wedding kiss

Starring

Sandra Bullock, Ben Affleck

Plot

A guy wants to fly south for his wedding with a girl he's madly in love with. But it seems destiny doesn't want him to, first he is involved in a plane crash, then he has to share a car with a drug addict and a crazy woman, he even lands in jail! When he gets out, he has to find a way to get to his wedding, and quick! So he and Sally, a 'free spirit', have to overcome a truck-load of obstacles to get to where they want to go, and now there's a tornado on the way...

What I thought

You really can't do much wrong if you're shooting a romantic comedy with two such amazing (-ly good looking) actors. This is funny, witty and romantic. Again, the soundtrack is very cool. If you're into this kinda movie you'll love it, even if it does have a sickly Hollywood ending. If you want to see Ben in under-pants go check it out!!

Patch Adams

Starring

Robin Williams

Plot

This is a true story about Hunter Adam. He became a doctor after a bit of soul-searching and a spell in a mental institution (he had admitted himself!). Even though he is exceptionally intelligent he breaks University rules to visit patients in a nearby hospital. He wants to not only cure the disease, but also the patient. So he soon opens his own hospital, with the help of a few friends in high places, where he treats patients with...laughter.

What I thought

Williams is and always will be an amazing actor. This is a good movie with a serious undertone, as Patch falls in love with someone much younger than him, who is tragically killed. The movie is made all the intriguing by the fact that it is a true story, Patch still maintains a chain of his hospitals to this day. All in all it may appeal more to a younger audience. But I liked it anyway.

link to Patch Adams movie site

Starring

Julia Roberts, Hugh Grant

Plot

William is a divorced guy living in London, Notting Hill to be precise. He shares his house with a guy whose fashion sense (and all his other senses for that matter) leave a lot to be desired. William works in a failing travel book shop and all in all his life is pretty uneventfull. Until one day he spills his orange juice over an extremely famous actress, Anna Scott. He takes her home to get her cleaned up and that's where the real story starts, because the two of them fall in love(Ahhhh).

What I thought

This is the funniest and cutest movie I've seen in a long time!It is entertaining all the way through! When William takes Anna to meet his family it is really hilarious how they all react. Oh, and William's flatmate Spike...You will be rolling on the floor laughing!! But apart from that it's also really romantic. If you only see one movie this year, make it this one!

Zack, the most popular guy in school, has just been dumped by his girlfriend and to get his rep back he makes a bet with his best friend to turn Laney into the prom queen. But they got more than they bargained for.

What I thought

This is a real chick flick: romantic, funny and a cute guy in the lead role! There's lots of laughs to be had. An allround nice movie. Go see it with your best friend.

Annette(Reese) is the new girl in town who is a convinced virgin...Kathryn makes a bet with Sebastian: if he can get Annette to change her ways he gets to sleep with Kathryn too. But he didn't think he would fall in love..

What I thought

This is a very cool film about the lifestyle of the 'beautiful people'. Ryan P. is an absolute babe in this. And the actual film? Amazing! Seduction, betrayal, it has it all-complete with a sad ending. Go see this movie, you won't regret it!!

What I thought

This is the sequel to Austin Powers-International Man Of Mystery, and it's every bit as funny. Now Dr Evil has an evil clone called MiniMe and of course his son Scott. You will laugh and laugh!!! Even Jerry Springer makes an appearance. Extremely funny-NOT to be missed!
