I’m done babbling, so go read the story!
Willow sighed and leaned back in her chair. It had been a week,
2 days,
1 hour and 13 minutes since she had kissed Spike, but who’s
counting?
Since then, she hadn’t been able to think about anything else
besides
their meeting in the park. The memory of his lips on her hers
and the
passion that it stirred was not something that she had been
able to
forget easily.
Buffy had been livid, when she had refused to explain the encounter
that
Buffy had witnessed. Willow had managed to keep Buffy from telling
the
others, though. At least for a few days. At first Buffy had
been
convinced that Willow was possessed or something. But, after
Willow had
sufficiently proved otherwise, Buffy had agreed to keep silent
for three
days. That left Willow only one more night to come up with an
explanation, that would reassure Giles, Xander, Oz and Cordelia
and
didn’t involve demone,curses or possesion.
“Will? HEY, anyone home?”
The unexpected question startled Willow out of her thoughts.
“Yeah
Xander, I’m home. What did you want?”
“We were wondering if you were Bronzing tonight?”
“I don’t thi--” Willow was interrupted by the library doors slamming
open and a dozen vampires spilling in. Angelus, Druscilla and
Spike
trailed behind, seemingly in charge of the attack.
“Well boys, here’s your dinner. Eat up!” Angelus shouted to the
minions.
The nine other vampires descended upon the Slayer and Slayerettes.
Buffy
immediately staked the two that rushed her, then turned her
attention to
the ones attacking her friends.
Willow was scared. Very scared, and VERY angry. She couldn’t
believe
Angel. How dare he come in here and try to feed her and her
friends to
his minions. She was sick of him and his stupid little games
and
‘presents’. Very slowly, as not to be noticed, she reached into
her
pocket and grasped the stake she always carried with her. Out
of the
corner of her eye, she saw a vamp about to bite Xander. She
snapped.
With a cry, she launched herself at the offending vamp and promptly
staked him as it stood there, astonished. She leant a hand to
Xander and
pulled him off the table before returning her attention to the
battles
surrounding her. Buffy was close to dusting one, and Giles held
a vamp
still while Cordelia shoved a stake into it’s chest. She turned
her gaze
to the three leading vamps lounging near the entrance. Willow’s
eyes
locked with Spike but they simply looked at each other for a
moment
before he averted his gaze and stared at the floor. Willow turned
on her
heel and helped her friends stake the leftovers.
The sound of clapping echoed off the high ceilings. Angelus stepped
forward, followed by Dru and lastly, Spike.
“Well done Slayer, everyone of my ‘boys’ staked. And you Willow,
dusting
two all by yourself. Very impressive. I didn’t know you had
it in you.”
Angelus mocked them with his voice while he and his ‘friends’
efficiently surrounded them.
Willow hadn’t noticed much of this. She sub-consciously registered
Angelus’ words and was enraged over them. Of course she had
it in her!
Just then, the three leaders attacked the group, Angelus went
for Giles
and Willow, Dru for Cordelia and Xander and Spike for Buffy.
The mortals
of the room fought for their lives and the odds weren’t too
bad.
Willow kept blocking Angelus’ blows as best as she could, but
more and
more were landing on her, and it was starting to REALLY hurt.
Giles
wasn’t helping much either. He had rage and adrenaline fueling
him,
which gave him an attitude but that didn’t help to co-ordinate
his
moves. The punches and kicks that WERE landing didn’t seem to
faze
Angelus, and if she didn’t distract him soon, she wasn’t going
to be
around for her next birthday.
Suddenly, Willow remembered herself fighting a few nights ago.
She had
managed to do some damage before she....well-you-know-what to
Spike. She
grabbed all of her anger she had towards this creature and expressed
it
with a solid punch to the gut. It worked beautifully. Angelus
bent over,
gasping from the streams of pain that were shooting from his
abdomen. He
promptly forgot about the two humans standing around him and
focused his
attention solely on the task of trying to prevent unconsciousness
from
claiming him.
Willow turned to Giles, who was staring at her with his mouth
hanging
open. “Don’t kill him yet.” She turned and grabbed rope, a cross
and a
stake from underneath the library table. She silently thanked
Buffy for
the secret stash that was kept close by. She handed the items
to Giles
and instructed him in their use.
“Tie up his hands and feet really good, and hold him off with
the cross.
Only stake him if you have to.” She spun on her heel, and after
grabbing
another set of the same items, she strode over to Xander and
Cordelia
who seemed to have Druscilla under control. She gave them the
same
instructions and left before any questions could be raised.
Buffy and Spike were still going at it, though signs of weariness
were
beginning to show. They were evenly matched and probably wouldn’t
stop
until they were both dead. Willow saw a solution to this confrontation.
It had worked before and hopefully it would work again.
Very quietly, she walked up to the remaining vampire and the
Slayer.
Everyone else in the room tracked her movements, including Angelus
who
had managed a fragile grip on consciousness, but she went unnoticed
by
her targets. Swiftly, she grabbed Buffy by the shoulder and
pushed her
back, knocking her onto her back. Buffy recovered quickly and
was
getting up as Willow turned to Spike, who was once again astounded
at
this girl’s fire. Just as Buffy was about to attack, Willow
reached up,
grabbed Spike face and bringing it down to hers, she kissed
him.
