Xander threw his luggage into the trunk of Willow's car. He slammed the door shut and slid into the front passenger seat.
"Ready?"
He nodded and Willow backed up and drove out of the parking lot. Conversation on the way home was casual and light. The atmosphere was comfortable and it seemed like old times.

The Rosenburg home was filled with the laughter and happy voices of family and friends. All of Xander's closet friends were there: Angel, Buffy, Cordelia, Oz, and Giles. Joyce Summers had joined in the festivites and was not sitting in the kitchen, sipping coffee with Willow's parents.
The old Slayerette gang lounged in the comfort of the cheery den, exchanging and laughing at unforgettable memories and new stories. Xander grinned as Buffy recalled one of his own interesting "adventure." He blushed when Oz inquired the ending of the praying mantis story.
Xander felt a warm feeling in his heart at being with his old friends. Each had changed and moved on from their former role of a Slayerette. With the assurance from the Watcher's Council that the Hellmouth was a no longer a danger, Giles had retired his role as a Watcher. He and Buffy had surpassed countless of prophecies, making them the most famous Slayer and Watcher in the history of the Hellmouth. Buffy, surprisingly, had become a lawyer. She was a founding partner in the "Law Firm of Summers & Chase." "Chase" as in Cordelia Chase. Xander was still a little overwhelmed at the fact that his former girlfriend had become a lawyer. He had always thought she would become a fashion designer or something of that sort. But the former fashion queen had astonished everyone when she decided to major in law.
Oz and his band had become quite popular. They had just signed a contract with a major record company and would begin touring in January of the next year. Fourteenthly, they gang had discovered a spell to rid Oz of his werewolf days. Oz and Willow had parted as good friends freshmen year of college. The two remained close. But no two people were ever as close and Xander and Willow had been and still were. Though they had only seen each other once since '98, the two original slayerettes had vowed to remain close no matter what.
In nine years, Willow had changed the most. She was no longer an awkward teenager going through adolescence. Now, she was a stunning beautiful woman who was stronger emotionally and physically. Like Xander, she fittingly worked for the FBI. Their love for mystery and search for danger in their teenage years had proven to be an asset in solving many cases. Willow was well-known and was constantly being praised in Washington and Xander was proud to say she was his best friend.
He had missed her the most. Though she was just a phone
call or an e-mail away, being with her made him the happiest. Willow
was home, and home was Sunnydale, where he belonged.
