"Achoo", came a sneeze. It belonged to Xander.
"Are you getting sick?" Willow asked, concerned.
"Let me feel your
head." she said, as she did just that.
"Uh, oh. You feel warm." she concluded.
"Nuh,uh. I feel sick, not warm. Ha ha." he replied.
He even looks cute when he's sick, Willow thought.
The two were
sitting in their usual spot in the cafeteria.
"Usually, I love cafeteria food. But today,
it's the crap everyone
says it is." he said, pushing the food around
his tray.
"Xander, are you getting sick? You're not eating.
You must be
sick."Buffy said jokingly, as she took her
seat at the table.
"Actually Buff, I feel like...something I can't
say without turning this
conversation into and 'R' rating for adult
language." he replied.
"He's sick. And when he gets sick, he gets
irritable."Willow
conluded.
"Aww, poor sick puppy. You mean I can eat my
entire lunch
without him stealing half of it?" she asked.
"Yep." Willow put simply.
Buffy made a gleefull noise.
"Looks like I'm not gonna make it to Hellmouth
Central this
afternoon. You will fill me in if there is
a prophecy that says the
world will end tonight, right? I want to shower
before I die."he said.
"I wont." Willow said.
Is she still upset about the Cordelia thing?
"I'm mean I won't make it either. Your mom
doesn't come home till
late, and someone needs to take care of you."
Willow said.
"I wont even bother arguing with you, Willow
'cuz I'm a big boy and
I can take care of myself, but I know not
to argue with you." he
said.
Good, maybe she's finally over it. He put a
hand on hers. Willow
grinned and blushed.
"Good." she replied.
Xander opened the door to his house. Willow
breathed in. She
loved the smell of his house. It reminded
her of...well, Xander.
"Now, Mister. I am gonna make you some chicken
soup. You get
comfy in your room, pop in a video, and I'll
be in there when the
soup's done. Oh, and I have to call my mom."
Willow explained.
Xander strangely didn't mind following her
orders. I wonder if
Cordy would have done this for me...Nope.
He went into his room
and changed into some sweats and a t-shirt.
Then, he crawled
into bed and turned on MTV.
A few minutes later, Willow appeared with the
soup. Xander
noticed how she looked when she concentrated
on not spilling the
soup. He noticed her long red hair, and how
her hips swayed
when she walked. He didn't dismiss these thoughts
like he would
have before. She sat down and handed the tray
to Xander. "While
you eat, I am going to clean up the kitchen."
When she came back, he was finished. She noticed
how cute he
looked in that white t-shirt. It really flattered
him. He patted the bed
where he wanted her to sit down. He opened
up his arms, and
she snuggled into them, comfotably, relaxed.
"Thank you, Wills."
"No problem, Xander."
A few hours later, and a few hundred channels
surfed, Xander had
noticed that Willow had fallen asleep. He
also noticed how he had
been unconciously playing with her hair. Man,
she smells great.
He sighed. He switched off the TV and turned
off the light. The
moonlight streamed through the window, and
he gazed at her
face. Suddenly, it seemed as though he could
fall in love with her.
"G-night, Will." he said and gently planted
a kiss on her head.
"Night." she said, obviously still sleeping.
She still, having her
eyes closed, kissed Xander on the lips. At
first, Xander's eyes
popped open at the wonderful feeling the kiss
had washed over
him. Slowly, he closed his eyes and let the
kiss take place, kissing
her back. She put her head back on his shoulder.
What she didn't
know was that her dream of almost all her
life just came true.
When she woke up, she would think of it as
an awesome dream.
All night, Xander thought, Should I tell her
how I feel? What if she
doesn't feel the same way? For hours his mind
filled with all the
other 'What if's'.
Morning dawned, and he woke up a good hour
before her. He just
looked at her.
Willow stirred, then asked, "Hey. How long
have you been up? Do
you feel any better?" rubbing the sleep out
of her eyes.
"Much." he replied. He wasn't worried anymore
about the 'What
if's'.
He gazed into her eyes and saw love. He knew
it would be alright.
He gently touched his hand to her face. He
lifted her chin so her
lips could meet his. The kiss was mindblowing.
When they finally
broke apart, Xander saw a tear rolling down
her cheek.
"Why are you crying?" he asked, wiping away the tear.
"You don't know how long I've been waiting
for this moment." she
said.
She didn't wait for him to ask, 'How long',
instead she just kissed
him again.
"I love you, Will."
"Me too." she said.
