Brock, Ash, and Pikachu were walking along. Very slowly walking along. It seemed that ever since Misty had left, Ash hadn't been in such a hurry to get his badges. "Dude!" Brock yelled to Ash, "What is wrong with you?" "What do you mean?" Ash asked in a less than interested tone. "Usually, you make a mad dash through these woods! Now your moving slower then a Slowbro!" Brock exclaimed, "Hence my question, what's wrong with you?" Ash looked down and then summed up all his confidence and yelled back, "Umm, nothing's wrong! I'm just a little tired, I guess! Uh, Pikachu! Give me a jump start!" Pikachu does, but instead of fired up, it leaves Ash fried. "You know what I think?" Brock thought as Ash fell to the ground. "What?" the crispy Ash asked. "I think you miss Misty!" "What?!" Ash yelled as he quickly jumped up. "Are you kidding? That's absolutely ridiculous!" Ash laughed as he nervously rubbed his hand behind his head. Brock looks at him, not at all convinced. "Hey," Ash continued to yell, "She was always complaining, making fun of me, bugging me about her bike..." Ash trailed off as his tone softened, "I- I never thought she'd leave without that bike..." "Is that why you never paid her back? So she'd stay with you?" Brock asked. "What other reason would she have to stay?" Ash shot back at him. "Why did she leave?" Brock questioned. Ash looked down at the ground as he said, "Because I laughed at her, when- when she told me she lo-" Just then, "Prepare for trouble!" "Make it double!" "Darn!" Brock snapped his fingers in disappointment, "Right when it was getting good!" "It'll be great, now that we're here!" Jessie proclaimed. As she and James recited their motto, Misty had snuck into the shrubs behind Ash. "Hey, Pikachu!" Misty called to the little yellow cutie. Pikachu's ears perked up at the sound of her voice. He started bounding towards her, and jumped into her arms, glad to see his old friend. As Misty hugged him Meowth stuck a big rubber container around him and then threw that into a cage. Misty was upset but this was her new job, and her new job was to catch Pikachu. "Are you guys done yet?" Ash boredly asked Jessie and James. "Well, normally I would say no," Jessie said, "But just for today, seeing as you two are having a real heart to heart talk right now....I guess we'll let you off." As they start to exit, James adds, "See you in the funny papers!" Everyone stops and stares at James. He looks around. "What?" James demanded, "It's a saying!" Jessie just shrugs and takes his arm. "Chow, kids!" she says as they exit into the opening they came in. "Well, that was pointless!" Ash sighed as he remarked. "It usually is." Brock agreed.
Jessie and James are waiting by the car. "Where are they?" Jessie demanded, "Misty and Meowth should be here by now!" "You don't think she went back with Ash, do you?" James asked worriedly. "Not after the talk we had!" Jessie assured. James remembering, "You never did tell about that talk thing!" "Later, James, later!" Jessie shook her head, not thinking about that right now. Bushes rustled and Misty and Meowth emerged, dragging the cage with Pikachu inside. "I don't see why I couldn't just carry him!" Misty argued with Meowth, "He trusts me!" "Not anymore!" Meowth yelled back, "As soon as he saw you in that uniform, he would have shocked you! It's like instinct!" "Oh, whatever!" Misty rolled her eyes. Jessie, not really believing they had done it, "So you got him?" "Yep! Sure did!" Misty announced. "Oh my god, Jessie!" James exclaimed totally overcome by the emotions of victory, "Do you realize we've finally captured Pikachu?" James grabs Jessie, spins her around, and kisses her passionately. Misty, very shocked and confused by James' actions, "But- but I though we had something, James!" James, trying to recover, "Well, that was just business!" "Is that what Jessie is too?" Misty demanded. "No," he answered without hesitation, then looking at his lovely maiden, "She's a perfect blend of business and pleasure!" "Thank you, darling," Jessie smiled back at him. "No problem, dearest," he answered back. Misty, very mad, screamed, "UGH! That's it! I quit!" "Oh?" Jessie said, not very concerned, "Ok. We've got Pikachu anyways." James took the cage from her and Meowth. "You won't be needing this anymore!" Jessie decided, as she took Misty's Team Rocket shirt. "You can keep the rest of the outfit." Jessie told her. "Well, thanks for the help anyway!" Jessie called behind her as they jumped in the car. "Pleasure working with you!" James waved to her as Jessie started the car and they speed off, leaving Misty in the dust.
After they were out of range, Jessie slowed down the car and pulled over. "Jessie? Why did you stop?" James confusedly asked. "I though you'd like to drive!" Jessie told him as she tossed him the keys. "Really?" James asked, as he caught the keys. "Sure!" she said, as they switched places, "I wanted to have you drive in the first place, but that cage looked too heavy!" James smiled at her, as he started the car and began to drive, "Hey, Jessie. What about Misty? I mean, we sorta screwed her. She can't even go back to Ash, now that she helped us steal his Pikachu!" "Oh, I know," Jessie nodded as she pulled out a cellular phone. "I've got a plan," she assured him as she dialed. "Yes? Hypno's Helpline? Yes, I'd like you to send a mind erase wave to a girl on this location. You ready? Ok, it's North by Northwest, about halfway between 34 across and 50 down on your information grid map. Got it? Ok, thank you!" Jessie hung up, "She will have no recollection of stealing Pikachu, she'll just think that she joined us and that we ditched her before she woke up, leaving her free to rejoin Ash without any guilt and no evidence to connect us to the crime," she quickly explained to an amazed James. "Wow!" James said shocked, "You really do put alot of thought into these plans!" Jessie leaned over and gave him a kiss on the cheek. James smiled, and turned the quick kiss into one that was much more in depth. Jessie started to giggle and began to hit him on the chest. "What?" James asked confused. "Drive!" she screamed. "Oh crap!" he yelled, grabbing the wheel and skidding to a stop. The sudden stop sent Meowth flying through the air and into the top of a tree. "He'll be fine!" James said, not really caring. He pulled Jessie over to him, and picked up from where he had left off.
