James appearing disheartened, walked back into Jessie's hospital room. He looked over to her and she was again asleep. He debated on whether or not to wake her, and ultimately he decided against it. James sat down in the chair by her bed and looked at the book that the nurse had given him and began reading. As James read, he thought to himself, "Oh, jeez! Jessie is going to freak out! Having to take medicine all the time! No, no. It'll be ok. She only has to take it when she doesn't feel well. But when we go battling against Ash and Pikachu, what if she needs it and it got lost when we last blasted off? What if she has to quit? What will I do? Quit with her? See her on weekends? Why did this have to happen?" "What did you say?" Jessie asked as she awoke. Putting the papers aside, "Hey, sunshine!" he smiled. "Hey, rosebud!" she smiled back at him. "Did I fall asleep again?" she inquired. "Yep," he answered. "I guess we should start calling you Drowzee!" Meowth commented. Jessie's face lit up with surprise to see him. "Meowth!" she exclaimed happily as he jumped up on her bed, "How did you get in?" "Bad guys always gotta sneak in!" Meowth said as Jessie hugged her furry friend. "How ya doing, kid?" he asked. Jessie looked up at James, "Well, James hasn't really told yet." Meowth looking around the room, "Where? Where's James?" "He's right there!" she said pointing at him. "Whoa!" Meowth exclaimed, "I didn't recognize you! Hey! Good job not wearing a girl's uniform!" James made a fake laugh, "Ha, ha. very amusing!" "I thought so," Meowth said, jumping over to James, "So what's the word?" "Well," James looked at Jessie sadly and she becomes worried. "What is it?" she asked intently. James moved closer to her, "Well, it's not really that bad.....it's just more inconvenient than anything." Her face fell, "What do they have to do?" "Not much of anything really," he quickly said, taking her ungloved hand, "You just have to take a pill." "A pill? What's it do?" Jessie asked confused. "Well, it keeps germs and things like that from further hurting your lungs." "My lungs? Why are they so touchy?" "Well, you took in alot of water and it affected your lungs so now they aren't as strong as they used to be," James explained. Jessie sighed sadly, "Ok, just a pill right?" "Well, actually...." "There's more?" she demanded. "Kinda," James winced, "You also should carry around this inhaler," he held up the object for her to see. Taking it from him, "What the heck is this for?" "Again, your lungs. This is for just in case, not all that time." James said. "Like when?" Jessie inquired. "Well, like if your out of breath or can't breathe well, you take a couple puffs and you feel better." "So I only have to puff and take a pill when I feel bad?" she repeated. "Umm, not exactly. You have to take one pill everday." he said quickly. "Everyday?!" she yelled. "Yes," he told her. Jessie sighed and plopped her head on her pillow, "Is that everything?" "Yes," James assured her. "Well, I guess I'll have to. What choice do I have?" James took her hand and kissed it, "You ok?" "I guess. It's just I don't understand how-" she trailed off. "Well, it might have something to do with all the hair spray you use. That stuff isn't good for you," he added. Suddenly realizing her vanity, "Speaking of hair! I must look like a mess!" Somehow she pulls mirror out of midair. Looking into the mirror, "Well, it looks perfect! How could that be?" she quizzically looked at James. Smiling, slightly embarrassed, "Well, I had to do something while you were asleep!" "I love it!" she said as she hugged him, "Thank you." "I know you'd do the same for me. Wait, no, oh, you know what I mean!" She smiled at him and gave him a little kiss on the cheek, "So now what? Do we go? Stay? What?" "Well," settling closer to her on the bed, "That all depends on you, my dear. Do you feel well enough to leave?" "I think so," she smiled. "Alright! Let's blast off!" They stood up and James begins to walk out, but she stopped him, "Oh, James. Don't you have to change?" Looking down at his doctor clothing, "Oh, right! And I would have thought you'd like dating a doctor," they both laughed, he kissed her on the forehead, "See ya in a sec!" "Ok," she smiled at him as he left. As soon as he was out of the room, she practically collapsed on the bed. She sat up and uses her inhaler. Feeling better but helpless, she droped her head in her hands.
