(The lights come back on. John is lying in a pool of blood. Stefano is lying beside him. Roman and Marlena are lying unconscious in the aisle. We then see someone lay a note on Stefano's chest. The mysterious person then leaves the church)
(Marlena is the first one to wake. She sees John and runs and falls beside him.)
"John, John look at me!"
"NOO!!!"
(She takes John's face in her hands. She is crying massively.)
"You CAN NOT leave me. Look at me, open your eyes. I need to see your beautiful eyes!"
(Still no movement)
"I need you John. I need you to look at me and smile. John, I fought for you! Now it's your turn."
(Marlena then takes her handkerchief out of her pocket. She begins to wipe the blood away from his face. The then sees the note that John wrote to her. She begins reading it.)
"I was your angel?? You did all this for me?"
(Marlena then gets up and walks to the front of the church and begins yelling)
"Why did you do this to us? You took our child from us tonight. What did we do to diserve this? Tell me! Tell me now."
(The church remains silent)
""Come on! You brought John to me, many years ago. Then you take my daughter away from me. Lord, what's next? Are you going to take John away from me?"
(Roman walks up to Marlena and outs his arms on her shoulders. He then whispers in her ear.)
"It will be okay. We'll get through it."
(Marlena pulls away from Roman)
"We won't get through anything! John is lying there in a pool of blood and you are saying that we are going to be okay?? No, I don't think so. That man.."
(She points to John)
"That man is my life. You don't undestand that. You never have! I love that man and I might lose him!"
(Marlena breaks down crying)
"Marlena, I understand why you are hurting."
"No you don't"
"Yes I do."
"Roman, if you really understand what I am going through, then you wouldn't be here right now!"
"Doc, if I weren't here, then you would have gotten shot."
"How can you say something like that? I begged you not to arrest John, but you did it anyway. Now, how dare you try to make yourself look like my white knight! Let's get one thing straight, you have never done JOhn any favors. Not once since you found out that he was Belle's fatherand that I loved him, not you. You are jealous of John!"
"I AM NOT!"
"Yes you are! You are jealous. because he has EVERYTHING THAT YOU DON'T!"
(There is a dead silence in the church)
"Doc, please hear me out. I love you with all my heart. I always have. Now, I must admit it's been hard loving you and not being jealous of John for having you..."
(He takes her hands)
"I mean he is able to take your hands and feel your soul. I used to possess that power, but I don't anymore. You see this ring??"
(He kisses her engagement ring)
"It symbolizes the bond that you and John have and today a wedding band was supposed to join it. Yet, once again, DiMera has caused your dreams to be shattered."
"It wasn't all Stefano's fault this time, Roman. You played a big part in this entire mess."
"I agree, Marlena, but is John hadn't escaped..."
"Wait. If you had just given us time to explain what had happened at the hospital, then you wouldn't have arrested John. Everything would then be as it should be."
"But, I had to do my job."
"Your job, Roman, as an officer of the law, is to recognise that a person is innocent until proven guilty. In all reality you placed John under arrest, without one single piece of evidence."
"Doc, listen I had more than enough evidence to arrest Joh...."
"Arrest who? Not John. I know for a fact that you had evidence, but it wasn't against John. It was against Greta. I think that you mean well and I stress "think" but you need to realize that two people have already lost their lives tonight. Now I am going to go and try to find a doctor, before I lose the love OF MY LIFE!"
"You can't, not in this storm."
"Roman, I have my two feet and John's love and that's all I need!"
(Marlena heads towards the door, but she is stopped when something touches her ankle)
"Stay.. Doc, please stay."
(Marlena sees John looking up at her)
"Oh.. John you're alive."
"Doc, what happened?"
(John then begins to sit up)
"John, John please be careful. You've been shot."
What???? I wasn't shot. I'm fine!"
"But John, what abotut the blood?"
(John sits completely up and Roman joins them on the floor)
"John, are you sure you haven't been shot?"
"My God Roman, I would know if I was shot. I HAVEN'T BEEN SHOT!"
(John then takes the note that is lying on Stefano's chest)
"Doc, what's this?"
(As John takes the note he uncovers the gun shot wound in Stefano's chest.)
"Roma. Oh goodness Stefano has been shot. Someone shot Stefano."
"Roman looks puzzeled at John and Marlena)
"My God Roman, you don't think that John shot him??"
"You see Doc, John was in a fierce struggle with Stefano right before the electricity went out!"
(Marlena jumps up in Roman's face)
"Oh no, Brady, don't even try that crap! John did not shoot Stefano!!! Well, is he did..."
(John interrupts and shows Marlena and Roman the note)
"I didn't shoot DiMera and this prooves it"
(John shows them the bloody note)
"You see, whoever wrote this letter hot him"
"Well, who wrote this letter?"
(Marlena snatches it away from John)
"OH MY GOSH!"
(Marlena stumbles in shock)
"What, Doc? Who shot Stefano??"
"KRISTIN. KRISTIN SHOT STEFANO!!!!"
"What are you sure?"
"Yes, she states it right here."
(They both read the note)
I am sorry for all of the pain that I have caused you and Marlena. During my time away from Salem, I came to realize that I needed to come here and make things right. Now I realize that Stefano's death comes as a shock to everyone. Yet, I had to kill him. I only hope now you and Marlena can finally find the happiness you both diserve.

"You see, Roman. John did not kill neither Stefano or Greta. Now can we please go home?"
(John steps in front of Marlena)
"Yes, honey, we can leave"
"Okay, let's go"
(Marlena and John leave. As they exit the church, Roman remembers all of the harsh words that had been said between himself and Marlena. Then he thinks to himself..)
"They have been through so much. Yet, after all that pain and heartache they found their way back to one another. Is it fate? Naahhh. They are connected. She loves him, more than she ever loved me. She not only proved that to me today; she told me. He just better treat her right."
(As Marlena and John exit the church, they are quickly reminded about the terrible storm that is raging outside. Although they still walk hand and hand down the long road that lay ahead of them. Marlena is the first to break the slience)
"My it's quite chilly out here"
(John puts his arms around her)
"Well allow me to warm you up"
(Marlena turns around and looks into John's eyes.)
"John where are we going to go? We can't go home, because the police are there and..."
"Doc, don't worry. Remember today is our wedding Day and tonight is our wedding night."
(Marlena stares down at her ring)
"Yeah, but we didn't make it that far"
(She tears up)
"In out hearts we are married sweetheart. Now, don't you worry. We will have a nice place to stay tonight."
(John takes her hand and guides her down to the Salem Inn)
