Smedly VS Snorkel
By Robert Brown and Trevor Lake

"Hello, folks, this is Trevor, along with Robert, back again for the latest in
live league action. This should be an exciting fight between two fighters
making their debuts tonight. Robert, why don't you describe our fighters and
the conditions?"

"Our first fighter is from the well known Woody Woodpecker stable, Smedly!
Our second fighter should be known to all our fans out there, our very own
mascot, Snorkel. The fight is a basic fight to the finish, using mask and
snorkel only. This should be a good match."

"This feels kinda wierd, having our own mascot jumping into the boiling pot,
even though he applied himself. Well, maybe we'll get our answers sooner than
later, but right now, we have a match to call, because the bell has sounded
and combat has begun!"

"And Snorkel's not wasting any time, trying to take the fight right to Smedly.
Probably his best bet because Smedly does have the height and strength
advantage here."

"I'm not sure about that, consdering these guys are both rookies and they may
be in for some unexpected surprises. Smedly looks like he's accepting this
little challenge, and now we two dogs charging at each other... and they're
locked in the center of the tank! Can you say drama?"

"I can, but I won't. As I thought, Smedly's easily overpowering Snorkel,
forcing him down and making him waste breath in trying to get up."

"Ah, there's the way, kid... Snorkel just hit a nice low blow there, Smed
forgetting to try to keep those legs closed. While Smed is stunned, Snorkel
has to go get a breath. He might've been able to finish him right there
otherwise."

"It's those missed opportunites that hurt the most, but here he goes, trying
to stop Smedly from getting his breath. All that time spent as our mascot
must've let him pick up a few tricks, wouldn't you agree?"

"Sure, but sometimes it's a lot harder putting those tricks into practice,
such as Smedly is proving here, just forcing himself and his opponent to the
surface. They're now going at it at the top again, and Smedly's overpowering
again."

"Snorkel's trying to rip at Smedly's snorkel, but the bigger dog is easily
keeping him away. Straightforward isn't the strategy to use here."

"He's now dragging our mascot down towards the bottom of the pool again.
Snorkel has just played right into Smedly's hands so far, hasn't he, Robert?"

"Yeah. Snorkel may have thought he had the right strategy for here, but
Smedly has proved that just not the case here."

"They're at the bottom now, but Snorkel was just able to slip free, and
delivered a punch to Smedly's mask, stunning him for a minute, and now Snork's
moving around behind, and... he's starting to hover semi-above Smed's snorkel.
What's he planning here?"

"Looks like he's setting him up for a unique take on the dog breath idea,
trying to breathe in Smedly's snorkel, but Smedly saw it coming and swam
quickly out of the way."

"Yeah, he developed a version for a scuba tank too, but we'll get to that
later. Smedly's now turning back around and counterattacking with a quick
right hand to the stomach, and now he's grabbed him and is kneeing him over
and over."

"With each strike, Snorkel's losing air, and it's nearing the critical point.
Wait, Snorkel's grabbed the knee and twisted it, making Smedly let go for just
a second. He's trying to get some air, but does he have enough left?"

"Smedly's trying to go after him, but he probably won't be able to catch him,
so maybe he's looking for a breath too. Snorkel makes it surprisingly easily,
and has sucked in the air. Smed just surfaced beside him, and now he's got a
surprised mascot in a bearhug and dragging him back down. Can you say yo-yo?"

"What goes up must come down I suppose. From our testings, Smedly has a higher
breathhold, so if Snorkel can't escape, he's done for."

"Quite right, Robert, and Snorkel may also be suffering to most from the up
and down nature of this match. Back at the bottom, Smedly has just decided to
headbut our mascot and he's on his back! Smed is getting on top of him,
and.... he's forcing open his opponent's mouth?"

"What in the....oh no, he couldn't be....that's just too cruel!"

"Now here's a new way to go about it. With Snorkel helpless on the ground,
Smedly's giving him mouth to mouth... but in doggie breath, and one look at
Snork's eyes show his horror as Smed administers his rather deadly CPR."

"It's all over here, Snorkel's lost the fight as that deadly breath did its
work. What's our time Trevor?"

"Hmm... we're looking at 6:21 here. Not too bad for a pair of rookies and the
conditions they were in. Still, this was a somewhat entertaining match.
Probably not for everyone, with the somewhat slow pace, but Smedly dominated
here, having control almost the whole way."

"Both of them have a lot to learn though before they're ready for the big
leagues. Still they both show promise tonight, and I look forward to seeing
more from them."

"Well, either way, we're through for tonight here, so we're signing off,
folks, untill next time!"
