  • "DAY OF THE ASSASSIN"

    • Anne Matheson (MICHELLE PHILLIPS) and Nick Shicllace (LORENZO CACIALANZA) fight about what to do with Rover, the multi-million dollar race horse they kidnapped from Greg Sumner (WILLIAM DEVANE). Sumner overhears and confronts them. He seems unfazed by Anne's betrayal.

    Meanwhile, Claudia Whittaker (KATHLEEN NOONE) and daughter Kate (STACY GALINA) hide at a tropical paradise. Sumner arrives because Kate sent for him. He reminds Claudia of her past misdeeds and insists she relinquish her Sumner Group shares. He promises to protect Kate and her. Claudia reluctantly agrees.

    Vanessa Hunt (FELICITY WATERMAN) goes to Nick's apartment with the briefcase containing the sniper's rifle. He tells her that "their friends" want Claudia, Paige Matheson (NICOLLETTE SHERIDAN) and Sumner killed. Later, Nick tells Tom Ryan (JOSEPH GIAN) that, unless Paige leaves The Sumner Group, she will be killed.

    Sumner takes the Whittakers to his ranch. Anne learns that Sumner is on his way to confront Nick about Nick's attempts to gain control of The Sumner Group for Treadwell (DANIEL GERROLL). She races ahead and warns nick. When Sumner arrives at with a body guard, she and Nick hide. Sumner tells Vanessa to call him if Nick returns. When Vanessa goes to Nick's office, she is startled to find Treadwell there. Later, Anne and Nick are attacked by two gangsters. The beating is Treadwell's attempt to intimidate Nick into remaining loyal to him.

    As Sumner sits in his office, a mailroom attendant shoots him in the chest. Fortunately, he is wearing a bullet-proof vest. Tom tells Paige that Sumner was shot. Paige allows Tom to be her bodyguard and they become romantically involved. Meanwhile, in New York, Mack (KEVIN DOBSON) and Karen MacKenzie (MICHELE LEE) reconcile.

    The same people who shot Sumner force Claudia to unleash a computer virus into Sumner's office data system. When Claudia confesses, Sumner and Paige, who are having a power struggle between themselves, both board a private jet to confront the conspirators.

    While making love to Treadwell, Vanessa learns there is a bomb abroad Sumner's plane. She quickly calls Tom to intervene, but the plane has already departed.
