Abstract:
Actor Larry Riley, famous for his role on "Knots Landing," died of AIDS on Saturday at St. Joseph Medical Center in Burbank, Calif. He was 39 years old. Riley's character, Frank Williams, arrived in Knots Landing four years ago with his wife and daughter during a hide-out in the federal witness protection program. Riley was also an accomplished musician who wrote scores for many episodes of the series. In addition, he sang in several Off Broadway reviews and acted in various plays and films. Riley, a native of Memphis, was also a co-founder of the city's Playhouse on the Square.
