The name Less than Jake comes from the brain of
drummer and pez fanatic, Vinnie. Vinnie had a dog named Jake and
always felt that the dog was treated better than he was. He felt
that he was Less Than Jake. The band has been around since
early 1993 and their first show was in that March. As of October
, 1996 Less Than Jake had 13 releases but, including
compilations, they appeared on 51 albums. Less Than Jake
recently signed to the major label Capitol Records and released
there newest and, in my opinion, best record yet, Losing Streak.
The Less Than Jake live show, Which I've been fortunate enough
to experience more than once, is beyond words. Their signature
show contains one key element- Silly String. The pez? Vinnie
likes chocolate (you can get that in Europe) and Chris likes
peppermint (Europe) The rest of the band likes Cherry. Vinnie's
