I'd just like to note that this story isn't a conventional crossover;
just think of it as a Pokemon episode with Ranma 1/2 elements. ^_^ In
terms of rating it, I'd put it somewhere along the lines of a Ranma 1/2
episode, or that notorious Pokemon episode with the "bikini contest"
they wouldn't air in N. America... ^_~ (In other words, probably not
suitable for kids!)

"--Whoa!" Suddenly, Meowth lost his grip on his binoculars. He watched
mournfully as it plunged down the cliff, heading for the ground far
below.
"Oh, well..." he shrugged. Meowth turned to Jessie. "Can I borrow your
binoculars for a second?" Jessie glared back at him.
"Certainly not!" she snapped. "Use your own!" She continued to scope
out the 'twerps', as Meowth fumed.
"I can't right now, they kind of fell off the cliff!" he retorted.
Meowth began to pull the binoculars out of Jessie's hands. "Look, I'll
give them back to you when I'm done..."
"Meowth! Stop that! These are mine!" Jessie started to pull back,
beginning a mini tug-of-war. James put down his own binoculars, and
tried to placate the two.
"Please stop this!" he pleaded. He placed his hands over the
binoculars, as the other two continued to tug at it. "If you don't
stop, we might--"
James's words were cut off as the cliff underneath them began to
crumble. The trio glanced down as cracks began to appear in the ground
beneath their feet; before they could react, the ground gave way, and
Team Rocket suddenly found themselves standing in mid-air. Finding his
voice, James finally managed to finish his sentence.
"--fall off the cliff." Team Rocket then fell down, trailing screams in
their wake.
***
As they fell, Meowth was sure he heard two splashes below him, but the
thought was cut off as the ground hit him, right between the eyes.
After the pain had sank in, he stood up unsteadily.
"Lucky for me, Meowths always land on their face..." he said, rather
dazed. He shook himself. It was then Meowth realized he was alone.
"Jessie?" he queried. "James?" He looked around. "That's odd. I was
sure they were right beside me when we fell off that cliff..." He then
noticed a splashing noise nearby.
Meowth ran towards the sound, which seemed to be coming from one of the
springs. As he approached, he saw a head of red hair surface.
"Jessie? Is that you?"
"Of course not, Meowth. It's me, James." A slim figure hauled
themselves out of the water. "Oh, great. Now my uniform is all soaked."
He began to wring the water out of his clothes. Meowth looked at him
closely.
"James, do you know your hair's turned red?"
"Really?" He glanced at his reflection in the pool. "That's odd. It's
not like the water's red or anything."
"And your voice sounds kind of higher." It was true. Usually, when
James spoke in a high voice, it sounded false, but it now seemed to
Meowth that James's normal speaking voice was higher.
"Mm-hmm," replied James, preoccupied. "Is it me, or have my clothes
gotten loose?"
Meowth nodded absentmindedly as James took his pants off and began to
wring them out. There was something else odd about the human he just
couldn't put his finger (paw? claw?) on. He just couldn't figure out
what it was...
Then James took off his jacket. Meowth stared at the open collar of
James's black shirt, then swallowed deeply.
"James?" he said, his mouth dry. James looked up from the spring, over
which he was squeezing the water from his jacket.
"Yes?"
"You're... Not wearing that rubber suit again? You know, from that
bikini contest a while back?"
"Don't be ridiculous." James turned back to what he was doing. Meowth
swallowed again.
"Then why do you have breasts?" he said carefully.
James turned to look back at Meowth in bewilderment. Then he looked
down. And looked down some more. Not believing the evidence of his own
eyes, he pulled his collar away from his neck and stared.

In another part of the springs, Misty turned around.
"Did you hear that?" she asked.
"Hear what?" said Ash, as he and Brock turned.
"It sounded like a wounded Pokemon, or something," Misty said. "Or
someone in real pain."
"Nah, you must've been hearing things, Misty," dismissed Ash.
"I guess..." said Misty uncertainly. She continued to follow, but
lagged behind slightly, a thoughtful look on her face.

James lay on the ground, stiff and twitching slightly. She doesn't
seem to have come to terms with her new female body just yet... Meowth
backed away sheepishly, a paw held behind his head.
"Uh... I'll just let you adjust to your new... Lifestyle," he
stammered, and fled. As he ran, thoughts flew through his mind.
he thought. He frowned slightly.
While he pondered this mystery, Meowth slowed down from a run into a
thoughtful walk. Then something caught his eye that made him stop
altogether.
A Meowth was sitting beside one of the pools, shaking water from its
fur. Meowth stared at it in surprise.
he thought. How Meowth
could tell it was a female, would be hard to say; there was nothing to
distinguish it from other Meowths, except for two green spheres below
its ears.
Meowth approached it cautiously; being a domesticated Pokemon, he
wasn't sure what to expect from a wild Meowth. Just then, the female
Meowth looked up at him.
"What are you staring at?" she retorted.
Meowth's jaw dropped. he thought, shocked. Then,
tears welled up in his eyes. Running over to her, he hugged the other
Meowth happily.
"My soulmate!" he sobbed. The female Meowth looked disgusted.
"Meowth! What in the world do you think you're doing? Stop that!"
She managed to wriggle out of his grasp and glare at him. "Honestly,
Meowth, what's come over you? You're acting like you've never seen me
before in your life!"
Meowth took a step back, uneasily. There was indeed something familliar
about the female Meowth, especially in the irritated tone of voice...
His eyes widened.
he thought. "Jessie... Is that you?" he asked
tentatively.
"Of course, it's me," snapped the girl Meowth. "Who else would I be?"
Meowth broke into a sweat.
"Uh... You didn't happen to fall into one of the springs, did you?"
Jessie's brow wrinkled.
"Well, now that you mentioned it... Yes, I did. What of it?"
"Er... Maybe you should check your reflection in the water for a
moment..."
Jessie glared at Meowth's red face, then walked up to a pool to glance
at her reflection. After a moment, she screamed.
"Aaaaaaaaahhhhh!! My face! My beautiful face! What's happened to it?
I'm hideous!" she wailed. Meowth walked over, to look over her
shoulder.
"I dunno... You're kinda cute for a Meowth." Jessie-Meowth turned back,
to look at him curiously.
"Do you really think so?" she asked eagerly. All of a sudden, her
expression darkened, causing Meowth to back away nervously.
"Wait a minute... You caused this, didn't you?" she snarled. "I fell
off the cliff because of you, and into this stupid spring that turned
me into a Meowth! This is all your fault!"
"But it was an accident!" he protested, waving his paws frantically in
front of him.
"I don't care! You going to pay for destroying my perfect face!" She
advanced on the hapless Meowth, claws unsheathed.
Just then, James walked up, her damp uniform slung over one shoulder.
She seemed to have recovered from the intial shock of womanhood quite
well... However, finding that her uniform was a bit loose (on top of
being soaking wet), she was clad only in a black tank top and white
boxer shorts with tiny red "R"s all over them. She strolled up to the
two.
"Hi, Meowth." She glanced at Jessie. "Say, who's the other Meowth?"
James suddenly fell heavily to the ground, borne by the weight of a
ticked-off female Meowth. Grabbing her by the front of her shirt,
Jessie-Meowth put her face right up close to that of a terrified
girl-type James.
"For the last time, I am NOT a Meowth!" she growled. "It's me, Jessie!"
"Okay, okay! I believe you!" cried James.
"Are you sure?" she asked suspiciously.
"Of course I am! I'd recognize that voice anywhere!" James was about to
substitute 'voice' for 'temper', but wisely decided against it.
Satisfied, Jessie was about to release her grip on James's shirt, when
her gaze shifted downwards.
"James, you're not wearing that inflatable suit again, are you?" she
asked thoughtfully.
"No... I've just been coming to terms with that myself," whimpered
James pathetically. "It must've happened when I landed in the water...
Right after we fell off the cliff." A dangerous glint entered Jessie-
Meowth's eyes.
"Oh, yes... That reminds me." She marched up to Meowth, and before he
could react, punched him hard, hurling him in the air.
"What did you do that for?" gasped girl-type James, jumping to her
feet. "He might fall into one of the springs!"
"So?" snarled Jessie. "It's his fault we're like this!" As realization
set in, James's eyes narrowed. She ran after Jessie, who had set after
the airborne Meowth.
"Could I get the next shot at Meowth?"
"Not until I'm done with him." There was a determined set in Jessie's
now-feline mouth.
"Oh, come on, Jessie! At least you're still the same sex," whined
James.
"At least you're still the same species," she retorted.
As they both continued to bicker, the two reached the spring Meowth had
fallen into, easily recognizable because of the bubbles rising from it.
Stopping at the edge of the water, they waited expectantly.
Suddenly, a human head rose to the surface, spluttering. Jessie and
James stared at it in surprise. Noticing their attention, the boy in
the pool turned to stare at them. As they looked on, an expression of
horror crept across his face.
"Oh, no!" the person cried in Meowth's voice. He looked at his arms in
revulsion. "What horrible creature have I turned into? A Muk? A Grimer?
A... A... Growlith?"
"Er..." said James uncertainly. "You've turned human, Meowth."
"Aaaaaahhhhh!!" wailed Meowth. He then blinked in surprise. "Human?
Really?" He looked again at his now human arms. "So this is what it's
like to be human..." Meowth then shrugged. "Hmph. It's not all that
it's cracked up to be." He began to swim towards the edge of the pool,
as Jessie and James looked on.
"You know, Meowth," mused Jessie, "It's too bad you didn't fall into a
spring of drowned Dratini or something. It would've been far more
useful."
"Why don't you find a spring to jump into, then?" snapped Meowth.
"I already did, thanks to you!" she snarled. Jessie retracted her claws
threateningly. "Now I have these to show for it!"
"Now, now," James said uneasily, trying to calm them down. "Fighting
won't get us anywhere. We've got to work together and find a cure for
this!" She tugged at her hair nervously. For some reason, the now
female James had an irresistable urge to braid her hair into a pigtail,
even though she knew it was way too short.
As the human Meowth was about to haul himself out of the pool of water,
Jessie flinched.
"Don't get out of the spring yet, Meowth!" she yelped, averting her
eyes.
"Why not?" retorted Meowth. "Meowths hate water!"
"You're not a Meowth anymore, you're human!" snapped Jessie. "And
humans need to wear clothes!" Looking around, she noticed girl-type
James carrying her own uniform. Jessie snatched it out of her hands.
"Hey!"
"Here, Meowth." Jessie dropped the clothes near Meowth, who looked
quizzically at them. Meanwhile, James looked plaintively at her loaned
out clothing.
"Now what am I supposed to wear?" she whined.
***
Moments later, the transformed trio were walking through the springs,
with human Meowth wearing James's uniform, and girl-type James wearing
Jessie's.
"I still don't see why you have to wear my uniform," muttered Jessie-
Meowth.
"Well, you're not exactly using it at the moment," said James,
reasonably. "Besides, you made Meowth borrow mine."
"Ya know, it's a good thing I'm used to wearing human clothes... Your
uniform itches, James," complained Meowth.
"Well, it's not like I want to wear Jessie's uniform," replied James
(despite previous evidence to the contrary). "I mean, for one thing,
the top's rather tight across the chest." A vein appeared on Jessie's
head, while Meowth looked up at James.
"Really."
"Uh-huh. And the skirt seems kind of loose around the waist--" Jessie
turned very red in the face.
"What's that supposed to mean?" she snarled, whirling to look at girl-
type James. "Are you implying that my body is less than perfect?" A
sweat droplet appeared on James's head.
"No, of course not!" she stammered. "I just meant that your uniform
doesn't fit me, that's all!"
"Is that so?" said Jessie icily, putting her paws on her hips. "Then
does that mean you think your figure is better than mine?"
"Uh..." replied James, at a loss for words. Unfortunately, Jessie took
this the wrong way.
"Why, you..." Unsheathing her claws, she pounced on girl-type James,
who was unsuccessfully trying to explain herself.
"That's not what I-- Ouch!"
"That's for calling me fat!"
"I never said you were fat!"
"You did so just now!"
"But that's because you said it-- Ow! That hurts! No claws, no claws!"
Meowth stood by watching, his arms crossed in front of him.
"Ya know... As much as I enjoy a good cat-fight... Would you two cut
that out?!"
