The next morning

(Ned is already wake while Alexis is still sleeping)

(Ned is about to leave and he goes over to give Alexis a kiss on the cheek. This wakes Alexis up)

Alexis: (just as Ned gets to the door) Ned are you trying to sneak out without waking me up?

Ned: No. You looked so peaceful sleeping and I did not want to wake you. I really have to go to work but you can call me if you need anything. Stay put. Bye.

Alexis: Bye

Ned: I might be back at lunch time if this meeting is short.

Alexis: I doubt that.

(Ned leaves and Alexis starts to ponder over the stacks of paper in front of her)

(Alexis stops working so she can take a nap)

(After 15 minutes Alexis wakes up she realizes that it is time to go to the hospital. She starts to panic because Ned is not here to help her)

(Alexis grabs her cell phone to call Ned)

Ned: Ned Ashton.

Alexis: Ned It’s me.

Ned: Hello. What’s wrong?

Alexis: I think it is time Ned.

Ned: (panicked voice) What? Your due in 2 weeks. I am 30 minutes away from the house. Call Monica and see if she is at the house and I will meet you at GH.

Alexis: Ned, I am worried. I love you.

Ned: I love you too. I better go explain what is going on.

(Ned hangs up and Alexis calls Monica)

Alexis: Monica. It’s Alexis. I am having contractions….10 minutes apart…..You’re at GH…I should call an ambulance…Ned is not here. He is 30 minutes away ….OK I will see you there.

(Alexis has a strong threshold for pain)

(Alexis hangs up with Monica)

(Alexis calls 911 and an ambulance is coming for her)

(Just as she hangs up someone is coming upstairs)

Alexis: Who is it?

Stefan: Alexis, it’s Stefan. I just wanted to see how you were.

Alexis: Stefan. I need you to do me a favor. Grab the bag over there and stay with me.

Stefan: (grabs the bag) Alexis what’s wrong?

Alexis: My children are a little too eager to be born.

Stefan: Where’s Ned? (gives Alexis his hand and she squeezes it hard) Is there anything I can do?

Alexis: No. I am fine. Ned is at work and he was at a meeting. Ned will meet me at the hospital. An ambulance is coming here.

(Just as she says that an EMT comes in)

(The EMTs put Alexis on the stretcher and leave)

(Stefan had to let go of her hand)

Alexis: Stefan please stay with me?

Stefan: I will.

(they load Alexis into the ambulance and Stefan gets in too)

(Alexis grabs Stefan’s hand)

Alexis: (to Stefan) Thank you.

General Hospital

(Monica is waiting for Alexis to arrive)

(The ambulance pulls up)

Monica: Hello Alexis, Stefan.

Alexis: Is Ned here?

Monica: Sorry not yet. Stefan if you want to come in with Alexis you have to go put on scrubs.

Alexis: Please come? Until Ned gets here.

(Stefan sees fear on her face so he decides to go with her)

(Stefan goes to put on scrubs and comes upstairs to Alexis’ room)

(Stefan walks over to Alexis; and she does not look happy)

(Monica walks in)

Alexis: (not happy) Where’s Ned?

Monica: I have not seen him yet.

Alexis: I could kill him.

(Just then Ned walks in; already in scrubs)

Ned: Who could you kill? (notices Stefan standing with Alexis)

Alexis: You.

Ned: Hello Stefan. Thanks for staying with her.

(Stefan goes over to Alexis and kisses her on the cheek)

Stefan: See you later.

Alexis: Thank you, Stefan.

(Stefan leaves)

Monica: Nice timing Ned.

(Monica leave the room)

(Ned goes over to Alexis)

(Alexis really does not look happy; Ned tries to give her a kiss but she pushes him away)

Alexis: (snaps) Leave me alone, Ned. You know you did this to me.

Ned: Breathe.

(He grabs a picture out of a bag that he brought with him; It is the picture from their wedding day. Alexis grabs it and throws it across the room)

Ned: (shocked) Alexis!!

Alexis: (laughs) Sorry

Ned: (strokes her cheek) It’s almost over.

(Alexis takes Ned’s hand and squeezes it real hard)

Ned: (not feeling the top of his fingers) (laughing) Can you loosen up your grip on my hand?

Alexis: No. (but she does loosen up on his hand)

(Monica comes in and sees the glass and frame on the floor)

Monica: What happened? (looking at a monitor)

Alexis: That would have been me. I got mad at Ned and threw the picture across the room.

Monica: Time to go.

Delivery Room

(Ned is holding Alexis’ hand)

Ned: Breathe, honey. Breathe

(Alexis starts breathing and in walks a doctor with the epidural)

Alexis: (like a child waiting for candy) (to the doctor) Give me. Give me. Give me it now!!

(Monica and Ned are standing in a corner and Monica laughs at Alexis’ little outburst but understands)

(Ned sees the size of the needle and decides to go sit down because he knows he will faint)

(Alexis feels a lot better after she gets it)

(Ned decides that it is safe to go back to her)

(Ned sees the pain in her eyes so he leans over to kiss her)

Ned: I love you honey.

Alexis: I love you too.

(After 7 hours of labor Alexis gives birth to Brittany Ann. Who weighs 5lbs. 10oz.)

(After she is checked over by the nurse; she is handed to Ned) (Ned holds her up for Alexis to see)

Ned: (standing next to Alexis) She’s beautiful just like her mother. (kisses Alexis’ forehead)

(Ned gets this huge smile on his face; Alexis had never seen anything like that)

(Then Ned hands her back to the nurse and pays attention to Alexis; giving her his other hand so she can squeeze the life out of it)

(10 minutes later Alexis gives birth to Michael Scott who weighs 6lbs. 11oz.)

Ned: Look here’s the soccer player.

Monica: I am a great-aunt. I’m getting old.

(Everyone laughs)

(Michael is handed to Ned and Brittany is handed to Alexis)

Ned: You did it.

(Alexis just smiles at Ned; she notices tears in his eyes)

Alexis’ hospital room

(Around 5PM)

(Alexis is holding Michael and Ned is holding Brittany)

(Ned lays down on the bed right next to Alexis)

(That moment Bobbie walks in)

Bobbie: Hello. Just wanted to see how you are doing?

Alexis: Fine, thank you.

Ned: (to Bobbie) There is a camera in the bag over there? Would you mind taking a picture?

Bobbie: No problem (grabs the camera and takes a picture)

Alexis: Thank you.

(Bobbie makes sure everything is fine and leaves)

Alexis: Can you take Michael? I am tired. (yawning)

(a nurse comes in to get Brittany and Michael so she can put them back in the nursery)

Ned: Get some sleep you look tired. I am going for a walk.

(kisses her and then leaves)

(Alexis falls asleep)

Ned’s walk throughout GH

(Ned gets his cell phone out of his coat pocket and calls Lila) Ned: Hello Grandmother. It’s Ned…Yes…Alexis is fine…You can visit tomorrow. ..I am not sure if I will be back at the house or I might stay here tonight….Bye

(hangs up the phone)

(Ned calls Lois to see if Brooke Lynn can come visit soon so she can meet her brother and sister)

Ned: Hello Lois. How are you?…I know we made plans for Brooke to come up in two weeks but her brother and sister are already here…..I was wondering if you mind bringing her up here sooner?…Don’t give me a hard time, Lois…Yes…Bye.

(Ned hangs up the phone)

(Ned sees Stefan in the hallway)

Ned: Stefan.

(Stefan turns around to see Ned)

Stefan: Ned. How’s Alexis?

Ned: Alexis gave birth to a health girl and boy. We decided to name the girl Brittany Ann and the boy Michael Scott.

Stefan: (shakes Ned’s hand) Congratulations!!

Ned: Alexis is probably sleeping so feel free to stop by tomorrow.

Stefan: Tell Alexis I send my love.

(Ned leaves and walks to the nursery)

(As Ned is approaching he notices Helena standing there)

(Helena notices him coming towards her)

Helena: Hello Ned.

Ned: What are you doing here?

Helena: Just admiring my relatives (looking at Brittany and Michael). They’re precious.

Ned: Stay away from them or else…

Helena: (Interrupting) Are you threatening me?

Ned: No not really. Just leave them alone and I will not have to threaten you.

(Helena leaves and Ned just stares at his children; Ned wishes he could just kill her)

(Ned takes a long drive and ponders over so much good that has gone in his life, Alexis, Brittany, Michael, and both their families)

(After the drive, Ned walks back to Alexis’ room)
