Back in Alexis’ room

(Monica walks back into the room)

Monica: I have some bad news.

Ned: What?

Monica: It looks like Brittany was kidnapped from the nursery today. The police have been called so someone might come up here to ask you questions.

Alexis: Helena!! It has to be her.

(Alexis is trying to get up but Ned holds her back)

Ned: (stern) Alexis stay.

(Alexis does not listen and Ned restrains Alexis but she is determined to get up; When Alexis is determined she is strong)

Ned: Monica help.

(Ned grabs Alexis left arm and Monica restrains her right arm)

Monica: Alexis look at me. We cannot have you getting up. You just gave birth yesterday.

(Alexis starts crying)

Monica: I have to go. (leaves the room)

Alexis: Ned. (grabs Ned and hugs him)

Ned: It’s all right.

Alexis: (snaps) No it’s not. My daughter has been kidnapped. She cannot survive. I know Helena wants me in return for her safety. I have to go.

(Alexis tries to get up again; Ned is getting mad at her)

Ned: Stay. I am going to leave to get information on what’s going on. I will be back.

(Ned leaves the room)

(Alexis gets up and puts some clothes on)

(She leaves the hospital and decides to go to Wyndemere)

Wyndemere

(Stefan opens the door)

Stefan: What are you doing here? Aren’t you suppose to be in the hospital?

Alexis: My daughter was kidnapped from the hospital. Where’s Helena? (crying) Stefan I really need your help. Helena came to my room and threatened me.

Stefan: I will do anything in my power to help you.

(Alexis breaks down emotionally and physically; Stefan does not know what to do)

Alexis’ hospital room

(Ned walks back into the room)

Ned: Alexis….(Ned realizes that Alexis is not in bed)

(Just then Ned’s phone rings)

Ned: Ned Ashton…Stefan …Alexis is with you…Is she all right?…No…I will be right there…Don’t tell her. I am coming…Thank you.

(Monica walks in with the police)

Monica: Where’s Alexis?

Ned: She left the hospital and is with Stefan at Wyndemere. I was just going to get her.

Monica: Do you need someone to come with you?

Ned: No. Stefan said she is really upset and very hostile.

Taggert: Mr. Ashton, we need to talk to you and your wife. As soon as she gets back give us a call. (hands Ned a card)

(Taggert and Garcia leave the room )

(Ned turns to Monica)

Ned: I don’t know what to do.

Monica: Just be supportive and give her a shoulder to cry on. I am sure everything will work out.

(Monica and Ned leave the room; Ned gets in his car and drives to the launch)

Wyndemere

(Alexis is laying on the couch and Stefan is sitting on the chair)

(Ned walks in)

Ned: (noticing Alexis) Stefan. Is she all right?

Stefan: No. She totally shut down. She will not talk to me.

(Ned walks over to Alexis and stands in front of her)

Ned: Alexis?

(Alexis does not respond; so Ned waves his hand in front of her)

Ned: Alexis!! (Ned is growing concerned)

(Alexis still does not respond; she is just staring into space)

(Ned sits down on the sofa)

Ned: Alexis, I know you’re upset. You have to collect yourself. That is the only way we can help Brittany. (to Stefan) I think Alexis is in shock. I am going to bring her back to hospital. (goes to pick Alexis up)

Alexis: (snaps out of her trance) Leave me alone Ned. (as Ned goes to pick her up; she pushes him away; she gets totally withdrawn again)

Ned: I need you and so does Michael. (stroking her cheek) Please let me take you back to the hospital.

(Ned tries to pick her up again; this time she lets him; she puts her arms around Ned’s neck so tightly that he can hardly breathe)

Ned: Stefan I will call you later to let you know how she is.

(Ned leaves Wyndemere; carrying Alexis)

Back at the hospital

(Ned walks back into the hospital carrying Alexis; Monica notices them and goes over to Ned)

Monica: How’s Alexis?

Ned: She is totally withdrawn from her surrounds. Monica help her? (his heart aches)

Monica: Bring her upstairs. I will have a nurse bring Michael in that might help.

(Ned carries her back to her room and lays her on the bed)

(Alexis curls up into a fetal position)

(Ned goes and sits down behind her; he wraps his arms around her)

Ned: I love you. Nothing is going to happen. Alexis, please snap out of this? I don’t know what to do without you. Everything will be all right. (strokes her cheek; crying)

(Taggert and Garcia walk in)

Garcia: Mrs. Ashton is back. We need to talk to you both.

Ned: I don’t know how much information you will from Alexis. She is so withdrawn from her surroundings. Maybe I should tell you this. Helena Cassadine is back in Port Charles. She has threatened Alexis’ life and even mine. She came to pay a visit to Alexis in the hospital. (Ned continues to tell them everything including Alexis’ kidnapping in Paris)

Taggert: We will leave you. We are going to check out Helena Cassadine. We will let you know if we find anything.

(Taggert and Garcia leaves the room)

(Monica comes in holding Michael)

(Ned takes Michael from Monica and walks in front of Alexis)

Ned: Alexis, Michael needs you. (tries to hand her Michael but she does not take him)

Monica: I’ve never seen anyone like this. Ned, I would like to keep her here for another day or so. I want to make sure Alexis is fine.

Ned: I understand.

Monica: If Alexis does not eat anything by tomorrow I will ask you if you want her to put on an IV. She needs nourishment to keep her strong. She is already weak from giving birth and I don’t think this event is helping.

(Monica leaves and Ned sits down next to Alexis)

Later that night

(Ned is still sitting next to Alexis; his phone rings)

Ned: Ned Ashton.

Helena: Don’t you dare every talk to the police again. The police paid me a visit when I went to visit Stefan. (threatening voice) If you ever do again Alexis will die and you’ll watch. I will make sure of it.

(Ned hears a baby crying in the background)

Ned: Who’s there with you?

Helena: (snaps) No one that concerns you.

Ned: You took our baby didn’t you?

Helena: Bye Mr. Ashton.

(the phone goes dead)

(Ned hangs up and then calls the police)

Ned: Detective Taggert please?….It’s Ned Ashton. I got a call from Helena Cassadine….Yes…She called and threatened our lives…A baby was crying in the background…Yes…Bye.

(Ned hangs up the phone)

(It’s late and Alexis fall asleep; Ned is worried about her)
