Birth of A Notion

From Soap Opera Digest (2/17/98)

Now that she's expect a baby, Nancy Lee Grahn's ear perk up whenever she hears the words "News for moms-to-be." Recently, Grahn listened to a stroy on epidurals (a local anesthetic that eases the pain of childbirth). "I saw something on Good Morning America where they said epidurals are really safe," relates Grahn. "And I thought, 'Oh, this is so great.'" More importantly, the report reminded Grahn that there's is a specific window of opportunity during which a woman can receive an epidural during labor. "The first thing I am going to do is ask about that window of opportunity," laughs the actress. Grahn's baby is due in early March, so she's got all her bases covered. 'I've learned the word for epidural in 5 languages," she jokes.
