An amused Wally Kurth says he's glad his wife, Rena Sofer, will be spending her mornings on the Melrose Place set now that she has joined the show. "Thank God she's going to be out of the backyard!" Kurth says laughing. "She's been landscaping our house. She's building a patio. She goes out every day, even in this hot weather. The other day, I had to get up early with the baby so she could get out there before the head came at 7:30. She loves it! She's out there cutting railroad ties and laying flagstones."

Although his wife does not look like the type who'd enjoy getting her nails dirty, Kurth says that's just one of the things he loves about her. "That the dicotomy of her. She's so girly. She can be a little bit of a princess and then there's this other side. She goes, "Wally, how do you like my new belt?" A tool belt!! I go, "Honey are going to wear that tonight?" The couple plan to add a second story to their house next. And, no, Sofer won't be the builder.
