Michael E. Knight: Hi everyone! This is ABCTim and Michael has just joined me. We'll be taking the first question in just a second.
Question: Was it planned that Jake and you look so much alike?----Cat
Michael E. Knight: No, but I appreciate the compliment.
Question: Michael, would you like to see the character of Ted Orsini come back?
Michael E. Knight: Only if he has a personality.
Question: This is rather personal, so toss it if you don't want to answer it. Have you and Catherine Hickland considered starting a family, you would have such beautiful children?
Michael E. Knight: Yes -- and we could sell them! LOL!
Question: What do u think about Dixie returning to the show?
Michael E. Knight: I love it. At first, I had my doubts but Cady is so much fun to work with (there is nothing like that old chemistry) that I look forward to going to work every day. And she looks great!
Question: Is your movie going to be like Scream?
Michael E. Knight: What movie?
Question: What's your favorite color?
Michael E. Knight: Green.
Question: What kind of music do you listen to?
Michael E. Knight: Jazz, both classical and contemporary, pop, a lot of Broadway (thanks to Catherine) and some classical.
Question: What do you like most about playing Tad on All My Children?
Michael E. Knight: That's a good question. Tad's family.
Question: Where in NY is All My Children filmed?
Michael E. Knight: Pine Valley is on West 66th Street, next to the Hudson river.
Question: What's your favorite drink?
Michael E. Knight: Stewart's Diet Root Beer.
Question: How did you get into acting?
Michael E. Knight: Started when I was a kid. Got my degree in Connecticut in Theater Arts at Weslyan University. Moved to NYC to study at the Circle in the Square Professional Workshop. Started in commercials and answered an open casting call for Tad Martin in 1982. (I was 14 years old).
Question: Are you and Dixie ( I don't know her real name) a real life couple? If not, I think you guys would make a good couple.
Michael E. Knight: Thank you for the compliment, but I think I make a pretty good real life couple with Catherine Hickland (Lindsay Rappaport - OLTL).
Question: How old are you? What time does All My Children start shooting? And at what time does it end? Do you shoot 1 episode each day? Sorry for all the questions.
Michael E. Knight: Old enough to lie. One o'clock, EST. Two o'clock, EST. Usually, sometime more.
Question: Michael, as a proud owner of a bottle of Vintage "ORSINI" Champagne (signed by you) I am curious about what you thought about playing dual roles on AMC. Would you do it again?
Michael E. Knight: I would love to. But it is a lot of hard work. I am amazed at David Canary's (Adam/Stuart Chandler) stamina and patience. Also, I think Ted is a little jealous because Tad is better looking.
Question: WHAT DO YOU THINK ABOUT WHAT YOU DO?
Michael E. Knight: I LOVE IT! HOPE YOU DO TOO!
Question: First of all, I am a big fan of yours and AMC's. My question is...I would love to write a book on Tad Martin or possibly even you Michael! How would I get your permission for something like that?
Michael E. Knight: As a character on the show, Tad Martin in the intellectual property of ABC/Disney and therefore subject to copyright law. However, I appreciate the compliment. As regards to myself, it would have to be a pretty short book.
Question: If offered, would you like to do a role on Broadway or do you prefer working with an "invisible" audience?
Michael E. Knight: Good question. I love working on stage. I live audience is a real rush. I would gladly do another play. My last was Off Broadway a year and a half ago.

Michael E. Knight: I hope so, she's a real cutie.
Question: Are Tad and Dixie going to get back together on the show? How do you feel about the way they're portraying Tad now? (The loner after being a player). lol
Michael E. Knight: I don't see how they can bring Dixie back and not put us together. The big question now is HOW are they going to do it? As regard to Tad, sometimes I miss his randy ways and rapier wit.
Question: What is it like working with Susan Lucci?----Cat
Michael E. Knight: I don't work with Susan very often. I wish I did. She is very gracious, funny and generous. She sets the tone for the entire studio and it is a good place to work because of it.
Question: Hi Tad, who is your favorite actor/actress you work with? I saw you and Greg Nelson in person at Darien Lake (Buffalo, NY). Thank you.
Michael E. Knight: I love them all.
Question: Hi Michael, How are you? I just wanted to say what a wonderful actor you are. You have made me laugh, cry, mad as heck, and feel sorry for Tad at times. Keep up the great work. Carolyn AKA BugFace146
Michael E. Knight: Thanks Bugface. Tell your friends.
Question: I think your wife is a great singer!!! Will she be putting out an album soon?-----Cat
Michael E. Knight: She has an album out called "Sincerely Broadway." I hope she does another next year.
Question: Will you be doing any primetime movies anytime soon?
Michael E. Knight: From your lips to God's ears.
Question: I frequently visit the AMC chat room can you tell me what you think of your fans as we think you are delightful and enjoy your company.
Michael E. Knight: I love going online. Most everybody is great! It's sort of a pain to have to re-convince newcomers that I really am me. For all of you out there who want to know, I'm CBMOUSER. I love hearing directly from you guys, however, when you don't like something.....I mean really don't like something....it gets a little hairy.
Question: Tad & Dixie belong together. If they reunite do you think the writers can keep them together for as long as Ruth & Joe?
Michael E. Knight: That would be tricky. Not that I'd mind.
Question: In you view, what actress has had the most chemistry with you?
Michael E. Knight: Cady McClain (Dixie). At least you guys seem to think so.
Question: In a 2/17/98 story in SOD magazine that Catherine wrote, she said "stars" are just people, including looking, "ridiculous holding a cat in front of their crotch when they got caught between the bedroom and the linen closet (Michael!)" Can you explain?
Michael E. Knight: Catherine came home early when I was getting ready to take a bath and had gone to the linen closet for a towel. I got caught halfway there and not knowing whether or not she had guests with her I grabbed the nearest thing available which, unfortunately, was our main coon.....Cheddar. Unfortunately, Cheddar didn't understand and protested.
Question: Michael, you recently had a birthday I would like to wish you many more. "Pti333" in another name! Is this 29 right? LOLOL. Remember the Orsini wine we shared in the AMC room thanks :)
Michael E. Knight: Thanks for the best wishes. Isn't it great that Orsini comes with a pop top?
Question: What has been your favorite storyline?
Michael E. Knight: Too many to pick. Anything with David Canary (Adam/Stuart), Cady McClain (Dixie) and/or Julia Barr (Brooke). Also Jennifer Bassey (Marian).
Question: Has the cast of All My Children become like family to you?
Michael E. Knight: Yes. The hours can be long, and I'm truly happy that I get to spend them with such nice people.
Question: First of all let me say you are adorable. Will Tad and Edmund ever be ugly women again? That was a hoot.
Michael E. Knight: Who you calling ugly?
Question: Michael, do you enjoy your scenes as the host of "The Cutting Edge"? I thought it would be fun to see you interviewing real life celebrity fans of the show.
Michael E. Knight: That would be an excellent idea. Never thought of it. Somebody should pitch it to the network.
Question: How do you like your best friend Kale and your wife being exes?
Michael E. Knight: It's pretty funny. But I guess I can trust him.
Question: Will Rosie ever be on the show again?
Michael E. Knight: I hope so. I'm jealous that I haven't had a chance to work with her yet.
Question: How much of Tad's humor is yours and how much is written?
Michael E. Knight: 50/50. After so many years on the show, our writers have an excellent handle on who I am as a person and how to translate that to Tad.
Question: If you could join the cast of any prime time series, what would it be?
Michael E. Knight: Anything by Stephen Bochco, David Milch, David Kelly, David Burroughs or the folks at Grubstreet Productions (Cheers, Frasier)
Question: I think I see Tad feeling very sorry for Brooke! I think he didn't realize how bad it was with all she went through. Tads eyes in the courtroom seemed filled with despair, is it likely he can fall back to her and be between Dixie/Brooke again?
Michael E. Knight: Interesting idea. Especially considering Jamie.
Question: Are you planning to be on All MY Children for awhile? I hope so, it was sad when you left the last time.
Michael E. Knight: I'll stay as long as they'll have me.
Question: Hi Michael. Last year I met you at the AMC luncheon. You told me I should look into acting. You probably don't remember me but do you have any advice? Are you going to the luncheon this year or Super Soap Weekend?
Michael E. Knight: I would start by going out for commercials. It beats waiting on tables to pay the rent. And, given enough time and patience, something always breaks. Never lose faith. Keep working at it.
Question: What does the E stand for ? I have a son named Ethan and his nick name was Ethan J. Martin in honor of Tad.
Michael E. Knight: The E stands for Edward, but I appreciate the compliment.
Question: Hi Michael...I saw you in "Cakewalk" & you were simply terrific. Are you going to do any more shows in the near future?
Michael E. Knight: Thank you, Evy T. Both for coming to the show and the kind words. I would love to do more theater should the chance arise.
Question: I know your married to Catherine Hickland, she is the one who sings the commercial, where the boys are? Is that her singing and how old is she? She plays on OLTL now as Clint's wife. What a shocker, she is too young for him.
Michael E. Knight: Yes, that is her singing. And, I could tell you how old she is but then I'd have to kill you.
Question: Who is your most favorite love interest on the show?
Michael E. Knight: Dixie.
Question: I always liked AMC better when you were on the show and looked forward to your story lines. A lot of what I see from your character looks so natural and unrehearsed. How much of what you do is ad lib?
Michael E. Knight: We don't really ad lib per say. If we want to change anything in the dialogue, we seek the permission of our director and/or Jean Dadario Burke, the executive producer.
Question: Hi Michael, this is Meghan from California. You must feel very blessed to be working with top actresses such as Marcy Walker and Cady McClain. What's your feeling on these two co-workers of yours?
Michael E. Knight: I would love to do a love triangle with Marcy and Cady. Unfortunately, I don't think you guys would approve. And that's one of the major reasons Liza and Tad didn't end up together when Dixie left.
Question: What can we expect the relationship between Tad and Kit to be like?
Michael E. Knight: I don't know that Tad and Kit will have a relationship per say. I do look forward to working with Paige.
Question: Do you ever come to Florida? St. Augustine is a great place to visit.
Michael E. Knight: My grandmother used to live in St. Augustine. I love it there.
Question: What was your favorite Tad and Dixie moment?
Michael E. Knight: The love test.
Michael E. Knight: Hi to Pooka2 and SEAHAAS.
Michael E. Knight: Thanks for being here with me today. God bless. Keep watching.
Michael E. Knight: This is ABCTim again. Thanks for joining us.
