dangerous in the shot below, from his senior year at Malvern Prep in Malvern, Pa. In fact, he was a total good guy in high school--secretary of the student council and a member of the varsity football team (which no doubt helped him develop that amazing bod). His yearbook quote includes lyrics from rock bands The Who and U2— music was really important to him in high school. But when it came to think about a career, he hit on acting and, upon graduation in 1987, went off to Ithaca College in New York and studied filmaking. It's not as a big a switch as it sounds! David was bit by an acting bug at the tender age of 7, when he saw a musical production of The King and I. "I want to do that— I want to be king!" David told his parents after the show. His dream really began to come true after he got his degree, when he headed for Hollywood and soon started logging film, stage, and TV credits. Then he won the part of Angel on Buffy the Vampire Slayer-- not to mention winning millions of hearts!
