The myth
of Chinese
Different cultures have their different myths of stars. In China, a festival named
the Seven Sisters is about stars. This story is based on two
stars named Vega and Altair.
They shine brightly around the
seventh of the seventh month. Vega (the Weaving Maiden was the
youngest daughters of Sun God. She married Altair (the legend of
the Cowherd) and neglected their duties.
Vega and Altair were banished to
stars separated by the Silver Streams (Milky Way). They were only
allowed to meet each other on the seventh night of the seventh
month. On that night, the birds of heaven formed a bridge over
the steams to unite the lovers.

The
rotation of the earth makes constellations rise 4 minutes earlier
each day. For this reason, we see different constellations in the
evening of each season.
