Chapter 2:

The bell rang. Lucky quickly placed all his books in his bag. He wanted to go
see Sarah. He placed his bag on his back and left out of the classroom.

Liz got up and fixed herself. She picked up her bag and headed out of the
classroom. Matt stopped her. "Hey listen I’m sorry if what my friend said
earlier upset you," He apologized. "He’s just in love with your sister."

"Oh, hey it’s fine." Liz smiled.

"So are you mad at me?" he asked.

"No," Liz giggled. "I’m not mad at anyone but myself, for making you feel that I
was angry at you."

"That’s a relief!" Matt laughed.

"So," Liz paused. "Um… where are you headed?"

"I have," Matt smiled at her. "Study."

"Oh," Liz took out her schedule. "I have art."

"Hey, since it’s on the way would you mind if I walked you to your class?"

"No," Liz smiled. "That would be so great."

"Okay then, let’s go."

Matt and Liz exited the classroom and headed to the art room. As they descended
the main stairs to the first floor, Liz spotted Sarah and Lucky. "Can we just
continue?" Liz asked.

"Oh, sure."

They continued to walk. Liz tried her best to ignore her sister’s presence, but
unfortunately Sarah spotted her first. "Lizzie, wow fancy meeting you here," She
smirked.

"Hello Sarah," Liz said unenthusiastically.

"I just thought you wouldn’t come to school since you are a runaway."

"I have to go," Liz separated from Matt and tried to make her way to her
classroom.

Sarah got into her way and grabbed her blouse, whispering into her ear. "Listen
sister, I know back at home you got all the guys, but here they’re all mine,"
She said, in a threatening tone. "Got it?!"

"Yeah," Liz said softly.

"Good, now get out of my sight," Sarah pushed Liz onto the ground.

"Geez Sarah!" Lucky shouted. He approached Liz and helped her up. "Are you
okay?"

"Yeah…" Liz said quietly. "Thank you Lucky."

"No problem," He smiled. "You want me to walk you to class?"

"No that’s okay," she turned to Matt. "Um… I can try to find the class myself."
Liz headed off, tears started to form in her eyes. She managed to find the
class. Before going in she saw a bench. She sat down and cried.

"A beautiful girl like yourself shouldn’t cry," said a voice. Liz looked up to
see a broad shouldered male with brown eyes staring down at her. He wore a
letterman jacket with a "M" embroidered on the side. The first letter in the
team, the Mustangs, Liz assumed he was on the football team.

"Hi," She sniffed.

"Hey," he smiled. "Here let me." He knelt down and took out a handkerchief. He
gently wiped away her tears from her pale rosy cheeks.

"Thank you," she smiled.

"No problem," he extended his arm. "I’m Nikolas Cassadine."

"Elizabeth Webber," she shook his hand. "You probably know my sister?"

"Oh yeah," he paused. "She’s my girlfriend."

"That’s great," Liz glanced at her watch. "I have to get inside."

"Oh you have art too?" he asked. "So do I."

"Great," Liz smiled. "Um… let’s get inside."

Nikolas and Liz made their way inside of the classroom. Nikolas noticed that
Liz was much better than Sarah. He knew he would be better off without Sarah.
He could have many things in common with Liz. If only she felt the same way.
Liz didn’t seem like a girl who’d go for the "jock" type, but Nikolas was going
to have that all change.

"Sarah what you did to Elizabeth was so harsh," Lucky became furious. "What is
your problem? Do you think she’s threatening to you or something?"

"Sorry," Sarah rolled her eyes, "Oh I get it. You like Lizzie don’t you?"

"I barely know her, " He paused. "But I’m going to get to know her. She seems
nice, and I think she deserves friends."

"Ha, she deserves friends?" Sarah laughed. "Come on Lucky. Lizzie is a loser
and always will be."

"Maybe you’re the loser Sarah," Lucky said coldly. The words he said to her
right then made him realize he was over her.

"I can’t believe you just said that Lucky," Sarah gave him a cold stare. "You
can call our friendship off."

"Good," Lucky laughed. "Who’d want you as a friend anyway?" Lucky made his way
up the stairs to his class.

"No Lucky you’re wrong!" she shouted from downstairs, trying to get Lucky to
listen. "You’re going to come crawling back to me I know it!" She watched as
Lucky continued to ignore her.

"Okay, class we have a new student in the program," The teacher pointed to Liz.
"Everyone say hello to Elizabeth Webber."

Liz looked to everyone and blushed, being the new student made her nervous. She
looked over to Nikolas and noticed he was watching her. That made her even more
nervous. She calmed herself down.

"Elizabeth I hear from your other school that you did some paintings?" she
asked. "Can you show the class your work?"

Liz reached into her bag and took out a portfolio. She got up from her seat and
handed it to the teacher.

"Wow…this is extraordinary!" The teacher gasped. "Class, what we have here is an
artist." She showed the class Liz’s paintings.

Liz made her way back to her seat. She could feel the other students’ eyes on
her. She blushed a little and calmed herself down once again.

"Okay, everyone is to draw anything that comes to the mind right onto the
paper." Ordered the teacher.

Just then, someone tapped her shoulder. Liz turned around and looked to a bunch
of guys smiling at her. "Um… can I help you?" Liz asked.

"Yeah… will you go out with me?" asked one of the guys, "My name’s Steve."

"Hey, no I want to go out with you," another guy spoke, "My name’s Kevin."

"Will you go out with me?" asked another, "My name’s James."

"You all are so nice… but right now I want to leave my relationship spot open,"
Liz smiled. "Can we at least be friends?"

"Sure," Said Steve.

"Sure thing," Said Kevin.

"That’d be awesome!" exclaimed James.

"Great," Liz giggled. "Um… do you need help with your assignments?"

"Yeah!!" they all said in unison.

Liz smiled to all of them. She took out a paper and started to draw a flower.
"Okay, what you need to do is think of something and draw it," she looked to
Steve. "Steve, what’re your interests?"

"I don’t know I’m on the football team…I guess sports."

"Well, draw anything like a football or anything related to sports onto the
paper."

"Okay, I’ll do that, thanks Liz."

Liz smiled and looked to Kevin and James. "What about you two?"

"Oh we’re fine," Kevin smiled

"Yeah, you helped us as well as Steve."

"That’s good to hear, I’m glad," Liz smiled.

"That was a nice thing you did," Whispered a voice in her ear.

Liz blushed and turned around. "Nikolas…uh…thanks I guess."

"Well, I have to get back to my seat."

"Okay…"

"I’ll see you around."
