Chapter 15: Aftershock
Nikolas: Will Gina be okay?
Jagger: Yeah, she was lucky. She is going to be home tomorrow, I'm just
calling to let you know.
Nikolas: Okay, well thanks for telling me. Could you tell Gina to call me when
she gets back?
Jagger: Sure.
Nikolas: Thanks, bye.
Jagger hung up the phone and sat down. He could not believe this. How could
this of happened? They must have figured out that he was working undercover.
He saw Captain Walkens walking towards him and he stood up.
Jagger: Captain.
Walkens: How's your sister?
Jagger: She should be out by tomorrow morning. How did this happen?
Walkens: There's a leak down at the department. Cates, I'm sorry, but you're
off the case.
Jagger: What?
Walkens: You're off the case. We have someone else working on it.
Jagger: All that time, all that work. I have had to spend months separated from
my wife, for what?
Walkens: It's not a total loss, we know more then we did before. Just consider
it a blessing. Now you can transfer to Port Charles PD like you planed and you
can be with your wife.
Jagger: Right. How soon can I get out?
Walkens: I was able to move it up to tomorrow.
Jagger: Just like that?
Walkens: Well, you did have some vacation time coming up. You won't have to go
to work for about three weeks.
Jagger: Well... thanks.

Sally unlocked the door and walked in. Everything was there, in its place. She
went over and sat down on the brown couch. The walls were grayish and the
carpet was white. Most of the stuff didn't really match, but she would worry
about that some other time. She had more important things on her mind. Then
she heard the doorbell ring. She got up and opened it up, not knowing who it
could be. Then she saw that it was Henry.
Henry: Hi mom.

AJ got back from AA and went to the fridge to get himself something to drink.
Every day he remembered more and more of that night he blacked out. He poured
himself a glass of orange juice and put the carton back in the fridge.
He looked at his calendar and put another X on. It was one more day without
drinking. He wondered how Carly was doing. The yelling had stopped in their
apartment before he left and Tony's car was gone when he got there. He hoped
she was all right. Then he heard some crying out in the hall. He opened the
door and there was Carly trying to find the right key to unlock her door.
AJ: Carly, what's wrong?
Carly looked at him.
Carly: He went to spend the night at the Brownstone. He knows everything.
AJ: You told him?
Carly: Well, it was accidental. I don't want to go into it right now.
AJ: When will he be back?
Carly: I don't know if he will. I couldn't really blame him though. He just
asked when the test was and that he'd be there, then that he'd be at the
Brownstone.
AJ: I'm sorry.
Carly: Don't be... I brought all of this on myself.
Carly started to cry harder and AJ put his arms around her.
AJ: Hey, don't worry. Everything will be all right.
AJ looked into her eyes.
AJ: I promise you that.
He looked deeper into her eyes. He longed to kiss her.
Carly: Don't make promises you can't keep.
He kissed her on the forehead.
AJ: I could never let anything bad happen to you.

V: Jerry, it's getting late, could you please leave. There are some stuff I
would like to do before it gets too late.
Jerry: It's only 9:00.
V: Well, still, could you please leave?
Jerry: Aren't you the least bit curious as to what job I'm offering you?
V: No offense, but I used to be a cop. I know you're not exactly legal, Sir.
Jerry: Really? How do you know?
V: I listened in on a lot of phone calls you made to your brother while I was
watching him.
Jerry: Oh... Then I guess you would know.
V: Right, now could you please go?
Jerry: Not until you agree to have a drink with me.
V looked at him and saw he was not going to give up.
V: *shrug* Fine, but can we do this tomorrow?
Jerry: Sure. I'll see you then.
V: Yes, bye.
Jerry finally left her room.
