Chapter 36: A Crappy New Year
It was early in the morning and Carly went to the door to answer the knocking
sound. Just her luck, it was Henry.
Henry: Greetings, Caroline.
Henry walked into her apartment before she could say anything.
Carly: Henry, what do you want?
Henry: Is Doc here?
Carly: No, he went to work already.
Henry: What is this guy's problem? He dumps you on Thanksgiving, he doesn't
call you on Christmas Eve and he goes to the New Years Party by himself.
Carly: How do you know?
Henry: My mom mentioned he was there without his fiancé. Rumors around GH say
things are pretty bad between you two. Christmas was a lucky guess. Wanna tell
me about it?
Carly: Why would I talk to you? You're 16 and I hardly know you.
Henry: True, but according to you, I have enough to bury you with. Could you at
least tell me what that's about?
Carly: Haven't we been over this already?
Henry: That was Thanksgiving, this is a whole New Year. Look, I could be a lot
more useful to you if you would just tell me what's going on.
Carly: How? How could you be useful?
Henry: Well, I wouldn't blab it to anyone at GH. I could accidentally let it
slip to what's her face on the 6th floor that your name ain't Carly Roberts…
What's her name again? Amy? I hear she's really bad with secrets.
Carly: Do you get some sort of sick pleasure out of threatening me?
Henry: No, I don't. I'm not enjoying any of this Caroline. I'm supposed to
keep some big secret for you, all I want to know is why.
Carly: Because it could destroy me. Tony will have nothing to do with me.
Henry: Caroline, on Thanksgiving he couldn't get away from you fast enough. Last
night he left you alone. I sneaked a peak at his schedule myself, he's always
taking on extra hours. Why, because he doesn't want to be here. Look around
you, babe, the Doc already wants nothing to do with you.
Carly: Just get out!
Henry did as she said and left the apartment. Carly slammed the door and tears
were already forming. Damn him. Damn that kid for doing that. Then there was
another knock at the door.
Carly: *opening door* What now!?
Carly then saw it was Jason.
Carly: Jason. I wasn't expecting you.
Jason: Can I come in?
Carly: Sure.
Jason entered the apartment.
Carly: Man, I haven't seen you in months, how are you?
Jason: Carly, I have to tell you something.
Carly: What is it?
Jason: I was at the Outback last night and I overheard Tony telling Bobbie he
was going to try getting sole custody of the baby.
Carly: What? No, you must have misunderstood.
Jason: No, I heard clearly that he wanted to do this.
Carly: He can't. No, he can't take my baby away.
Jason: I'll help you in any way I can, I just thought you should know. It
didn't sound like Tony was going to tell you and I didn't want you to find out
from some stranger.
Carly: Thank you. I have to go.
Carly took her coat and asked Jason if he could take her to where she was going.
He said he would.

Katherine found herself alone in a strange. She didn't have any of her clothes
on from the previous night, but instead a night gown.
Katherine: What am I doing here?
Then this strange man entered her room.
Katherine: Why did you take me here?
Man: I saw your car roll into the lake. I got you out of there and brought you
here. My phone doesn't work so I couldn't get a hold of anyone in town.
Katherine: You mean you saved my life.
Man: Yes.
Katherine: Thank you. I need to get back to town.
Man: Can't, all the roads are closed off.
Katherine: What? Why?
Man: Big blizzard.
Katherine shrugged at the fact that she was going to be stuck in this cabin away
from her Stefan.

Quinn found himself lying on his couch in his home. He looked around, wondering
why he was there but then he remembered that he passed out on the couch as soon
as he came home. He got up. Quinn called out to the bodyguard who should have
been at the front door.
Quinn: Lenny?
No answer. Quinn looked and saw he was gone. Then he looked up the stairs.
Someone should be watching her door.
Quinn: Pete?!
No answer. Quinn was worried. He ran up the stairs to Miranda's room. No
guards. He opened the door and it had everything was destroyed. It looked like
a tornado had been through there.
Quinn: No… God, no…
Quinn ran through the entire house looking for her but she wasn't there. Then he
had to face the facts. Helena had gotten Christen's child.

Alexis entered Stefan's office and saw him sitting at his desk, deeply involved
with his thoughts. Alexis cleared her throat.
Alexis: Ahem.
Stefan looked at her.
Stefan: Alexis, what are you doing here?
Alexis: We need to go over something. May I ask what you were so deep in
thought about just now?
Stefan: Alexis…
Alexis: Yes?
Stefan: I think I'm in love with Barbara.
Alexis: Bobbie? After she betrayed you?
Stefan: I do not blame her for that incident anymore. All I know is that I love
her and I can not refrain this emotion.
Alexis: What about Kather… *catches herself and thinks about it* You know what,
if you want Bobbie, then maybe you should go after her.
Stefan: I am not quite sure what to do.
Alexis: I'm sure you'll figure something out soon enough. We need to go over
these papers now.
Stefan: Of course, of course, go on.

Miranda continued to lie down on the dungeon bed wondering what Helena was
talking about. She was far from correct about being Natasha? That didn't make
any sense to her. How could she not be Natasha?

Henry went to General Hospital to see his mother. He was on the elevator when
he started to have this aching headache. He's had headaches for awhile but they
had started to get more frequent. Then his mind wandered back to the month of
October. He could remember working at Kelly's when he slipped and hit his head.

Henry: It's just a bump on the head, it's no big deal!
Sally stood nearby while Karen looked at him.
Karen: *to Henry* It's a good idea to get it checked out, just in case.
Henry: Mom, this really wasn't necessary.
Karen: *to Sally* Well, it appears that there is nothing wrong with your son.
My advise is to take some Aspirin, put an ice pack on that bump, if he still has
headaches by Tuesday then you should bring him in.

Henry just shrugged. He was not going to go into the hospital just because of a
few headaches. His head started to feel better as the doors opened at the sixth
floor. He stepped out and headed to the main desk to ask Amy about his mother.
Before he could reach the desk, Tony came up behind him.
Tony: Hey, Henry.
Henry turned around to face him.
Henry: Dr. Tony Jones, right?
Tony: Right. Do you have a minute?
Henry: What for?
Tony: I need to talk to you about Carly.
