Chapter 37: The Plot Thickens
Henry: Why do you need to talk to me?
Tony: Have a seat.
Henry went over and sat on a couch and Tony sat on the chair beside
Tony: Now, you were asking.
Henry: Why do you need to talk to me about Carly?
Tony: I was hoping you could answer some questions for me. I asked your mom but
she doesn't seem to remember Carly.
Henry: Huh, that's strange. I don't understand what you think you could
possibly find out from me.
Tony: I was wondering if you could tell me how well you knew Carly.
Henry: We were neighbors, I did some stuff for her mom, that's it.
Tony: Her mom? When exactly was it you were neighbors with Carly?
Henry was getting nervous. He started thinking back to what Caroline said.

Henry: …I'm supposed to keep some big secret for you, all I want to know is why.
Carly: Because it could destroy me.

Henry looked at Tony, afraid he might give an answer that would be inconsistent
with whatever Caroline said.
Henry: Why do you want to know?
Tony: I was just curious.
Henry: Look, I have stuff I have to do. Plenty of schoolwork I put off during
vacation that I should really get to. I just came by to see my mom.
Tony: I was just asking some simple questions, I don't understand why you’re so
afraid of answering them.
Henry: I'm not afraid… *Henry stands up* I just don't want to talk to you.
Tony: Why are you afraid to talk to me?
Henry: Look, I don't appreciate being used to get dirt on people. And I am not
afraid of you, I just think your a jerk and I don't talk to people I don't like.
Tony: (stands up) If Carly is keeping something from me, I think I have a right
to know.
Henry: If Car… Carly is keeping something from you, how do you expect to find
the answers from me? We were neighbors years ago!
Tony: I just…
Henry's head starts to ache again, the entire room seems to be swirling.
Tony: Are you all right?
Henry: I'll be fine as soon as I get away from you, Dr. Yuck.
Henry takes off and finds himself in the Men's room. He turns on the cold water
and splashes it all over his face. His headache dies down and he looks around.
No one there.
Henry: What is going on with me?

Alexis and Stefan were discussing business when there is a beeping sound from
the fax machine.
Alexis: These must be the papers I asked for.
Alexis went over to get the papers and started looking through them.
Stefan: Well, are they the papers.
Alexis looks at Stefan.
Alexis: No. These are papers about your sister. I asked for these months ago
when I first found out who Miranda was, I'm surprised it took this long to get
them.
Stefan: They were faxed to my office?
Alexis: I guess they must have been forwarded here.
Alexis starts skimming through them
Stefan: So, what do they say?
Alexis: Nothing of relevancy…
Alexis stops reading and her eyes widen in shock.
Stefan: What is it?
Alexis: Oh my God… *looks to Stefan* Stefan, according to these Miranda can't be
Natasha.
Stefan: What?
Stefan stands up and walks over to her.
Stefan: What do you mean she isn't my sister?
Alexis: I don't know what's going on but according to these Miranda is too young
to be Natasha.
The phone started to ring.
Alexis: I'll get that.
Alexis picked up the phone.
Alexis: Hello?
Quinn: Lexi, it's me. Helena took her.
Alexis: What?
Quinn: Helena took her, Helena kidnapped Natasha.
Alexis: Father, where are you?
Quinn: I'm at the house.
Alexis: I'll be right there.
Alexis hung up the phone.
Stefan: What's going on?
Alexis: Miranda's gone, Quinn thinks Helena took her.

Henry exited the Men's room and started walking back to the main desk when he
literally bumped into someone.
Henry: Oh, excuse me.
Henry saw that it was Lizzie.
Henry: Hey, Lizzie, what are you doing here?
Lizzie: Gramma thought it might be a good idea to volunteer here. So here I am,
not that I had much say in it. What about you?
Henry: Just needed to see my mom quick.
Lizzie: I just saw her not to far from here. I'll show you.
Henry: Okay.
They both walked off to see his mom.

Tony: Thank you, Mr. Patrick. I think you might want to find out what you can
about Henry Corinthos, I believe he may know something about Carly that we could
use in the custody suit… Thanks.
Tony hung up the phone and turned around to feel a hand slap him fast and hard
across the face.
Carly: Son of a bitch!
Tony put a hand on his red cheek and looked at Carly.
Tony: I suppose you heard.
Carly: Yes, Jason told me he overheard you and Bobbie talking last night. I was
hoping he heard wrong but he obviously didn't. How could you do this? Because
of one stupid night you’re going to try to take my child away?
Tony: One stupid night, all the times you've put yourself ahead of our child,
and let's not forget the custody papers you sent to Bobbie on the anniversary of
BJ's death.
Carly: I couldn't forget about that, could I? I made a mistake sending those
papers and I know I can't excuse myself from that but how DARE you say I've put
myself ahead of this child! I haven't done anything to harm this baby, if
anyone has been too selfish for this baby's good it is you!
Tony: Me?
Carly: Yes, you! Ever since you found out I slept with AJ all you've done is
hide in this hospital and mope about poor little you. Then after the whole time
you abandoned me, you come up with the stupid scenario that you would be a
better parent, well let me tell you something you bastard, the only one who's
been here for this child is me, no matter what I've had to put up with!
Tony: What YOU'VE had to put up with? What about me?
Carly: What about you? All you've done is hide here and hardly ever bothered
showing your face around home. Do you know how it felt knowing I caused you to
push me away, knowing that I made you hate me?
Henry and Lizzie walked around the corner and saw them arguing. Lizzie was
going to keep walking but Henry stopped and watched.
Carly: Well you know what you sexist good-for-nothing hypocritical jerk? I
don't care if you hate me because now I hate you and there is no way in hell I
am going to let you get my baby!
More people started to gather around.
Tony: Stop this, your making a scene.
Carly: I don't care… *Carly starts to have trouble breathing* you will listen to
what I have to say… *starts to lose balance* no matter…
Carly drops to the floor.
Tony: Carly?
Henry: Caroline!
Lizzie looks at Henry in confusion, everyone is oblivious to what he just said.
Henry and a couple of others go rushing to her side.
Tony: Carly? *Gently slaps her a few times on the cheek* Carly?
Henry: Get away from her, Tony! Haven't you done enough?
Someone yelled for help and Henry tries the best he can to send telepathic
messages to her, "Come on, Benson. You're going to make it, you have to be
okay."

Sally was at the desk writing in her chart when Amy started talking to her.
Amy: Sally, you have a call on line three?
Sally: Okay, thanks.
Sally picks up the phone and switches to line three.
Sally: Hello?
Person: Hello, again, young one.
Sally felt shivers tingle down her spine as she instantly recognized the voice
of whom she was speaking to.
Sally: Helena.
Helena: We have much to discuss.
Sally hung up the phone. She didn't want to talk to her, she didn't want to go
through anything with the Cassadines again. Bobbie was walking nearby and
noticed the disturbed look on Sally's face.
Bobbie: Sally? Is everything okay?
Sally: Uh… yes, fine.
Bobbie: You looked pretty upset just now.
Sally: It's nothing. Oh, I have to get going, I have a meeting with the chief
of staff.
Bobbie: You're still doing Harrison's surgery today, right?
Sally: Yes, I…
Then they heard a bunch of people talking and yelling and heading strait for
them.
Sally: I wonder what's going on.
Bobbie saw Tony walking beside a stretcher. Bobbie then saw Carly was being
carried on that stretcher. Tony, Henry and Lizzie stayed behind as the doctors
took Carly away.
Bobbie: Tony, what happened?
Tony: We were arguing and then she passed out.

Tony and Bobbie were in the waiting area. Sally had gone to her meeting with
Alan, and Lizzie had some volunteer work to do. Henry was just hanging around.
Then the doors opened and Jason stepped out. Jason saw Bobbie and Tony sitting
down.
Jason: Bobbie, how is she?
Bobbie: We don't know yet.
Tony was getting up to say something but then AJ came onto the scene and
interrupted.
AJ: What did you say to her?
Tony: I didn't say anything…
AJ: Yes you did. She wouldn't even be here right now if it weren't for you.
Jason: AJ, calm down, you won't do Carly any good arguing with Tony.
Then Dr. Newman walked out and Henry took a few steps forward to listen.
Jason: How is she?
Newman: She's not good.
Tony: What about the baby?
Newman: We have to perform an emergency c-section.
Bobbie: You're going to deliver the baby now?
Newman: Yes. Dr. Jones, could you get a hold of any of her relatives, she may
need blood. So will the baby.
Tony: She doesn't have any relatives.
Newman: Then I'm afraid their chances of survival have decreased.
Henry stepped away from them in shock of what he just heard. He looked at the
phone nearby and moved to it. Henry put in a quarter. He remembered his mom's
phone code and started punching in a couple of numbers. A few rings and someone
answered.
Henry: Could you connect me to a Virginia Benson, please? It's urgent.

Sally opened the door to Alan Quartermaine's office. It was strange meeting him
now. She had worked at General Hospital for three months and this was going to
be the first time she meet him. She saw him at his desk and she thought
something looked familiar about him.
Alan: Hello, you must be Sally Corinthos.
Sally: Yes. Hello Dr. Quartermaine.
Alan got up to shake her hand. Then he sat back down and motioned for her to
sit down to. Sally thought to herself "Where have I met this man before?"
Alan: I get the strangest feeling I've met you somewhere before.
Then it she started to realize where she had met him.
Sally: Oh no, I just have one of those faces.
"No, it couldn't be." she thought to herself.
