Chapter 54: Admission Of Guilt
Christen stood up before everybody in the police station. They all sat there,
astonished.
Quinn: Christen?
Christen looked at everyone and took a deep breath.
Christen: Here's what happened… When Quinn and Ned went looking for Helena, I
was told to wait in the car. When I got in… I remembered Quinn used to keep a
gun in the glove compartment, for safekeeping. At least, he used to when we
were married. Anyway, I opened it and sure enough, there it was. All I could
think about was what that woman had done to me, to my children, to me hus… ex-
husband. So I took it. When I got in, I saw Helena trying to escape. I told
her she wasn't going any where… she started taunting me, telling me I didn't
have the guts to do it and them… I did it. I shot her.
Everyone just sat there, staring at her. Christen waited for someone to do
something. Finally, Mac stood up.
Mac: Christen, you are under arrest for the murder of Helena Cassadine…
Quinn: What! *Stands up* Commissioner, that is preposterous, you know that!
Christen: Quinn, I committed a crime…
Quinn: Please, Helena was a horrible woman! You should be giving her a medal
right now!
Quinn stands in front of Christen.
Taggert: Sir, get out of the way. Do not make this any more difficult…
Quinn: No, damn it!
Christen: Quinn, please, don't…
Quinn: *faces Christen* I'm going to get you a lawyer, all right?
Christen nods her head, sadly, as Mac continues to read Christen her rights…

Henry woke up when he heard a knock at the door. He was surprised to see that
it was Carly.
Henry: What are you doing here?
Carly: Honestly… I don't know.
They stood there in silence for a moment.
Henry: Well… come, sit down.
Carly sat down in the chair next to the bed. She really didn't know why she was
there.
Henry: I heard about your baby… I'm sorry.
Carly: Well… I guess it really is kind of ironic… I was keeping so many secrets
because I didn't want to lose Tony… but I lost him anyway and now I lost my
baby.
Henry: Caroline, I'm sorry if I caused you any trouble. I mean, that day… I
shouldn't have showed up… I'm sorry.
Carly: It wasn't your fault.
Henry: I knew you were under pressure, but I just came in and laid more on you.
I certainly didn't help.
Carly: No… I brought this all on myself. When I came to town… when I didn't
tell Bobbie who I was to begin with…
Henry: Bobbie… what does she have to do with all this, Caroline? Your mother
mentioned her on the phone, she was Tony's ex-wife… I don't get it.
Carly took a deep breath. She felt she had to tell him… As some sort of way to
get closure for the whole situation… At least, the part he was involved in.
Carly: I am Bobbie's daughter.
Henry: *confused* Huh? Wait, Virginia…
Carly: Adopted me. You see… my mother, she was a… a hooker. She gave me up for
adoption when I she was 16. When I found out I was adopted… well, I felt I had
been abandoned… Like she didn't care about me. I also started blaming
everything on Virginia… my mother.
Henry: It can get like that, Caroline. I mean, parents and kids do fight.
Carly: I don't know… I guess I'm just screwed up.
Henry: Believe me Caroline, you are not alone… everybody's screwed up. There is
no such thing as a well-adjusted person… at least, not for long. So… you don't
blame me for completely blowing your cover?
Carly: No, you can't take all the credit. You told my mom, but someone else
told Bobbie.
Henry: So, Luke actually did it?
Carly: No… Stefan Cassadine, actually.
Henry: Nikolas' uncle? Why?
Carly: According to Bobbie, he supposedly loved her and didn't want to let me
and my baby die without her knowing and maybe being able to help me.
Henry: Man… Exactly how far does this thing go?
Carly: Pretty far… Well, throughout all of this, I have just learned the same
lesson as usual… life sucks.
Henry: Tell me about it… I mean, one minute I'm just walking my friend home, the
next…
Carly: You're a Cassadine, yeah, that's weird.
Henry thought about what she said, trying to figure out what she really said…
She couldn't have said that, because it didn't make any sense.
Henry: Excuse me?
Carly's eyes widen as she looks at him.
Carly: Excuse me, huh?
He doesn't know.
Henry: Did you just say I was a Cassadine?
Carly: Uh… no, don't be silly, I didn't say that.
Henry: Yes you did…
Carly: Wow, look at the time, I better go.
Henry: Carly…
Before he could finish, she was already gone. What the hell was going on?

Pretty much everybody that was at the hospital now. Ned was with Alexis, Quinn
was with Miranda, Lizzie and Nikolas were meeting Lucky in the lobby and Sally
was drinking coffee, pacing around. Stefan was walking down the hall when he
noticed Sally.
Stefan: Sally?
Sally turned around and looked at him.
Stefan: What is the matter, is it Henry…
Sally: No! No, nothing is wrong with him… It's just that now I'm going to have
to go in there and explain to him that he's a Cassadine and Helena was using him
as a tool against you. Is it just me, or was Helena's scheme just a tad bit
flawed.
Stefan: Well, she probably assumed we would heed her warning so she wasn't as
prepared for so many of us to arrive there. I am not sure, I try not to think
like my mother.
Sally: I can understand that. Stefan, I am sorry, really I am.
Stefan: It is all right, Sally. My mother has caused a lot of problems. Now it
is time to set everything right.
Sally: Of course. I'm just not sure how to tell him.
Stefan: Would it help to have me there?
Sally: No, I think I should do this alone.
But, again, she just didn't know how.

Carly arrived in the lobby to find Sonny and Jason. Carly went up and hugged
Jason.
Carly: Hey.
Jason: Carly, are you okay?
Carly let go of him.
Carly: Everything's all right… I'm just glad to see you. That's all.
Jason: Did something happen?
Carly: I'll tell you about it later. *Looks to Sonny* Hello.
Sonny: Hi.
Carly: Um… I kind of did something.
Jason: What did you do?
Carly: Well, I went to visit Henry and I kind of let it slip that… well, that he
was a Cassadine.
Sonny: You did what?
Carly: I didn't know he didn't know.
Sonny shrugs.
Carly: I'm sorry.
Sonny: It's okay, I'll just have to warn Sally. I just hope all of this gets
straitened out before the wedding… excuse me.
Sonny left them both standing there.
Carly: *looks at Jason* I guess I blew it, huh?
Jason: No, everything will be all right.
Carly: So… Sonny and Brenda are getting married soon?
Jason: Yeah, in just a few more days. It's a little surprising it took this
long…
Carly: Well, I just hope they're happy… It would be nice to have some happy
people, for a change.
Jason: Would you like to come?
Carly: Excuse me?
Jason: Well, Sonny told me I could take a guest, so, I'm asking you.
Carly: Well… all right.
Jason: I mean, I wouldn't want to pressure you…
Carly: No, it's okay. I need to get out… I need to move on.
Jason: So… is that a yes?
Carly: *smiles* Yes, yes it is.

Lucky, Lizzie and Nikolas were in the waiting area.
Lucky: Man, Henry is a Cassadine?
Nikolas: Well, yes.
Nikolas wondered how to take that. For awhile, they just seemed to be getting
along weird and he didn't know what their relationship was anymore. At one
time, it was hate, but they just seemed to get used to each other through mutual
friendships.
Lucky: Man… How's he taking it?
Lizzie: I'm not sure. Nikolas and I are going to go up to see him in a little
bit. You gonna come to?
Lucky: Sure.
