Chapter 58: Confession Of The Heart
Stefan was in the conservatory while Mrs. Landsbury was cleaning, when the
doorbell rang. Mrs. Landsbury was going to get it, when Stefan said, "I'll
answer it." Mrs. Landsbury went into the other room to continue her work when
Stefan opened the door to see it was Bobbie.
Stefan: Barbara? What are you doing here?
Bobbie: I came to see how you and Nikolas were doing. I hear Helena's dead.
Stefan: True… How is your brother feeling? I wager he is angry Christen beat
him to the punch.
Bobbie: I don't know, I don't talk to him anymore.
Stefan: So, you are still angered by his silence.
Bobbie: You bet I am.
Stefan: Why don't you come in?
Bobbie All right.
Bobbie entered as he closed the door behind her.
Stefan: Please, have a seat.
Bobbie sat down on the couch and he sat in the chair.
Stefan: I appreciate you coming over here.
Bobbie: It's no problem… So, how is Nikolas doing?
Stefan: He is well. The situation has appeared to not have had a bad effect on
him.
Bobbie: That's good to know… What about you?
Stefan: I know I should probably feel sorry for saying this, that woman being my
mother, but I am very relieved. She can not hurt any one ever again.
Bobbie: She manipulated your sister's life, she kept your son from you and who
knows what else. I think you have every right to be angry with her. I couldn't
stand that woman… How did Henry react to the news?
Stefan: *sighs* He's adjusting. I do not believe he is pleading for the
Cassadine amulet just yet, but I believe he will, one day, take his place in the
family.
Bobbie got a weird feeling about the way he said "take his place in the family",
but ignored it.
Bobbie: I'm sure he'll come around.
Stefan: I he is not completely against the idea of being a Cassadine, so for
that I can be relieved.
Bobbie: What about Nikolas and Henry? I heard they were friends before all
this.
Stefan: Well, they were acquaintances.
Bobbie: Well, I just hope everything works out for the best.
Stefan: As do I… How are things between you and Caroline?
~^~
Virginia was picking up lunch at Kelly's. She picked up her bags, turned around
to see Luke enter. Luke stopped when he saw her.
Luke: Hello, Virginia.
Virginia: Luke… Just the man I wanted to see.
Virginia put the bags down on a table.
Virginia: So… What's this I hear about you threatening my daughter's life?
Luke: *laughs* What? I have no idea what you're talking about.
Virginia: Oh, come on, you must remember… It was after you found out about
Caroline's affair with that Dr. Jones… You told my daughter that if she didn't
leave town, and if she told Bobbie who she was, you'd kill her?
Luke: That wasn't exactly how it went but… Well, come on, I was joking.
Virginia: Joking? Well, I don't know what warped universe you come from, but
here, a joke like that ain't funny.
Luke: Look, I was just trying to protect my sister…
Virginia: And I'm just trying to protect my daughter. Now, look, I don't care
what kind of "connections" you might have, but if you hurt my daughter in any
way, it would take a MIRACLE to get away from my wrath. Is this understood?
Luke: Look, Virginia…
Virginia: Is this understood?
Luke: Yeah, sure.
Virginia: *smiles* Good. I'll see you around.
Virginia picked up her bags and left. Luke wasn't scared, but he was a little
surprised. She had this all time coldness in her voice. It wasn't as chilling
as Bobbie's though. Luke went to the counter to see Ruby.
Luke: Hey, Ruby. How's it going?
Ruby: Not good, Luke. Now, can you explain to me that whole situation of why
you didn't tell Bobbie the truth.
Luke: I'm afraid I got no time for that.
Ruby: Why?
Luke: Did you hear the news?
Ruby: What news?
Luke: The big, old, wicked, mama bat was shot last night.
Ruby: Helena's dead?
Luke: Right.
Ruby: Does that mean they found Henry?
Luke: Who? Oh yeah, Sonny's cousin, yeah, they found him.
Ruby: Good, with him gone and Lizzie taking time off, the work has been going a
lot slower here. I can't wait for this to go back to normal. Besides, Henry's
a good kid.
Luke: Uh… yeah, anyway, I gotta take a quick trip.
Ruby: Where?
Luke: On an occasion like this, where else? Spoon Island.

Jerry and Jax enter the police station to find Taggert.
Jax: Detective Taggert, we need to talk.
Taggert: What can I do for you?
Jerry: Venus Ardanowski is missing.
Taggert: Who?
Jax: V.
Taggert: Oh! Wait, her first name is Venus?
Jerry: That isn't exactly a priority here!
Taggert: Right, right, sorry… When's the last time you saw V?
~^~
Venus woke up, tied to a chair. She looked around to see she was right next to
an arched doorway leading to a balcony. She looked up to see a man enter her
room.
Man: Aw… So you are awake. Allow me to formally introduce myself, since I did
such a poor job last night. I am Milo Drake, an old friend of Jerry's.
Venus: What do you want?
Milo: Isn't it obvious? REVENGE.
Venus: So, how long are you going to keep me here?
Milo: As long as I have something to gain. Well, I was. but then something
happened… there's another party involved now. He talked to me last night by
phone, told me his interest in you.
Venus: *confused and curious* And who is this man?
The door opened and in walked a man who faintly looked like someone she had seen
once before. It wasn't exactly him, but he resembled someone.
Milo: Venus, allow me to introduce Brett Rivera.
~^~
Brenda shrugged as she talked with Casey on the other end.
Brenda: No, no, not blue, WHITE flowers… No, no, I do not want ANY lilies at
the reception, that would be a bad omen, this is our wedding day, I want good
omens… Yeah, that sounds good.
Sonny opens the door of the study to see Brenda on the phone.
Sonny: Hey!
Brenda: Hey honey. *back to Casey* Look, Casey, just be sure everything is
EXACTLY HOW I ARRANGED IT, no last minute inspirations, just stick with what's
supposed to be done… Look, Lucy Coe’s in charge of this operation anyway, so
only listen to her and me, okay? *deep breath* Good. Thanks, bye.
Brenda hangs up and shrugs.
Sonny: Brenda, you need to take it easy.
Brenda: I know, I'm sorry, it's just that I want this to be perfect…
Sonny: Don't worry, everything is going to work out fine.
Brenda: I know, you're right…
Sonny puts his arms around her.
Sonny: So, are you going to relax?
Brenda: Almost… *smiles* I could use your help, though.
Sonny: *smiles back* Your wish is my command.
Sonny takes Brenda out of the study.
~^~
Venus: *confused* Rivera?… *realization* Hernaldo…
Brett: Right. Hernaldo Rivera, my father. Lily Rivera, my sister.
Venus: I don't get it, what am I…
Brett: And let's not forget my good friend and cousin Jose Rivera… The man you
let die. (Venus was confused) Hmm… Maybe it might ring a bell if I told you
the stupid nickname you people called him, what was it exactly, oh yeah, Tin
Man.
The image of the man sinking into the quicksand flashed in her mind.
Brett: You remember him now? I saw the security tapes of that night, one the
police didn't know about, which clearly showed you and Sonny Corinthos standing
by while my cousin died slowly.
Venus: I… I'm sorry…
Brett: Yeah, I know… I could hear you two too, I could hear you say you wanted
to help him, and now you feel guilty, but guilty isn't going to bring him or any
of my family back!
Venus remained silent.
Brett: Is it okay to take her now?
Milo: She's all yours.
Brett: *grins* Good. MARTIN!
A tall, strong man comes in. He unties Venus from the chair and reties her
hands behind her back.
Brett: Take her to the limo, I'll be with you shortly.
Martin nods. He takes Venus out to the hall.
Milo: Do you think everything will go according to your plans?
Brett: I've been watching these people since the funeral of my father. I'm sure
this will work.
Milo nods.

Virginia enters the apartment with bags. Carly gets up to help her with them.
Carly: You didn't have to get food.
Virginia: No, it's okay, I wanted to.
They put all the food away and sat down on the couch.
Virginia: Look, Caroline, there's been something I've been meaning to talk to
you about. I wasn't going to bring it up before, because of your baby, but I
think now…
Carly: You want to know what possessed me to come to Port Charles and destroy my
mother's marriage.
Virginia: Well… yes.
Carly: Well… in retrospect it doesn't make as much sense as it used to but… I
wanted to make her pay. I wanted to make her pay for abandoning me, for making
me feel like damaged goods… I just couldn't understand her giving me up for
adoption.
Virginia: So you just packed up you bags and broke up your mother's marriage?
Carly: Oh, come on, all I did was make myself available, I didn't force Tony to
come sniffing around. You know, their marriage was crumbling WAY before I came
into the picture.
Virginia: So, that makes it all right?
Carly: Well… I… No, I guess it doesn't.
Virginia: Caroline, just promise me that this will NEVER happen again.
Carly: Mama!
Virginia: Promise me.
Carly: Well… I can't promise to be a newborn saint, but I'll try to behave
myself.
Virginia: I'll take what I can get. I'll make dinner now, anything in
particular you want?
Carly: I dunno… just make a few sandwiches.
Virginia: All right… You want to invite your friend over?
Carly: Who?
Virginia: Jason, of course.
Carly: Well… I don't know. Why do you ask?
Virginia: Just asking… *gets up and goes to fridge* It just seemed to me that
you liked him a lot.
Carly: What do you mean by that?
Virginia: What, it's just something I noticed. Don't you like him?
Carly: Well, yeah, but… Well, we are going to Sonny and Brenda's wedding
tomorrow.
Virginia: Like a date?
Carly: I guess. Maybe. Why are you asking all these questions, though?
Virginia: I just want you to move on and be happy, Caroline, that's all. I also
hope you decide to stay in one place for now on. I would like to see you more
often.
Carly: *nods sadly* Mama, I'm sorry for all the hurt I've caused you.
Virginia: It's all right, dear, it's all right.
Virginia started pulling out stuff when Caroline said, "Here, I'll help you."
Carly went over and helped Virginia with lunch.

Luke stepped off the launch and started heading up the dock, when he heard a
familiar voice at the top of the steps. He looked up and saw Bobbie (who was
oddly smiling) and Stefan coming to the steps. They stopped there and faced
each other.
Bobbie: You know, we really are going to have to go to San Dominica.
Stefan: Oh yes… I had hoped you would have changed your mind.
Bobbie: I'm sorry, Stefan, but I don't think being married to you will work out
like you hope.
Stefan: Barbara, well… Will it bother you if I try to persuade you otherwise?
Bobbie: *laughs* I don't think it will work.
Stefan: Oh well… Too bad.
Bobbie looked at him, a little confused.
Bobbie: What?
Stefan: *smiles* I am not going to give up very easily. Besides, it's a
timeless tradition… Cassadines don't divorce.
Bobbie: Well, we'll just see about that.
Stefan: Is that a challenge?
Bobbie: *laughs* I guess so.
Stefan: I will be seeing you. Good day, Barbara.
Stefan walks away, leaving Bobbie in a little bit of disbelief. She sighed as
she went down the steps to see Luke.
Luke: What the hell is this I hear about you still being married to the bat?
Bobbie: Well, this is the story… *walks up to him* It's none of your business.
Bobbie walks past him and onto the launch. Luke was about to join her on it,
when she stopped him.
Bobbie: Unless you want to end up in the water and have to swim back, I'd just
wait for the next one.
The launch took off, while Luke was stuck on the dock. He was going to go up to
Wyndemere and tare into Stiffen, but this new situation gave Count Vlad an
advantage. He had to figure out just what the hell was going on before he
approach him.

Brenda pulled herself closer to Sonny and let out a relaxed sigh.
Brenda: Only one day left until we are finally married.
Sonny: I told you it would happen, babe.
Brenda: Yeah, I knew it was coming too… But it almost seems unreal.
Sonny: Don't worry, everything's going to work out just fine.
Brenda looks into his eyes.
Brenda: Promise?
Sonny: I promise.
Brenda: Thanks.
Brenda moves up and kisses him.

Venus pressed her foot to the petal as she took off from the scene, speeding.
She looked in the mirror to see Martin getting up after she kicked his butt.
She couldn't believe how rottenly knotted those ropes were tied. Or that they'd
place only one guard on her, after most likely seeing her in action in Tiger
Key. Venus wasn't sure what to think yet, but she'd figure it out. All she knew
she had to do was get back to Port Charles.
