Chapter 17
Jason sat there listening as Robin told him that she was the new head of the
Dover organization. He was shocked when Robin told him about her being on the
commission and her being above him. After she had finished Jason asked to speak
to Robin alone. He led Robin into a private room and he faced her.
Jason: Why are you doing this Robin?
Robin: I don't have to give you my reasons Jason. I am doing this.
Jason: You have never accepted the organization. You don't understand it. Please
leave it.
Robin looks at Jason in anger. She realizes that Jason is not going to respect
her.
Robin: I DON'T UNDERSTAND IT? I have been part of this world since I was born.
My grandfather headed the organization. I lived with him and have lived in it. I
know the thrill of power Jason. I have seen the benefits of the wealth. I had
all the toys I wanted. Grown men were treating me with respect because I was the
granddaughter of the boss. I also know the dark side Jason. You have never seen
the dark side of this world.
Jason: You almost died Robin. I almost saw you die in a car bombing. So don't
tell me that I have never seen the dark side.
Robin: I lived Jason. You were lucky. Sonny lost Lily. I have seen so much death
Jason. I saw my Uncle Duke die twice. But that was not the first time I saw
death directly from this world. Do you know when was the first time.
Jason: Tell me.
Robin: I was 5 years old. I was on my way to a friend’s house. I was in
grandpa's limo. Suddenly three men showed up and started shooting at us. I saw
this man with a mask come at me with a gun. My guard pushed me to the ground and
covered my body with his. I then heard shots. I stayed still for an hour.
Several men showed up. They helped me up and I saw several men with machine guns
guarding the area. I noticed that the man who was on top of me was dead. They
put me into another Limo and got me back home. I found out that Grandpa had an
enemy who wanted revenge by kidnapping and then killing me. I hate this world
Jason because it is violent and full of death.
Jason: Then why join it? Why take this organization.
Robin: Because it is what I must do. I will not let my family’s organization
fall apart. I am a Devane and I will do this. I have spoken to Moreno. There is
going to be a cease-fire and that he has agreed to the commissions orders. Will
you?
Jason: If I refuse?
Robin looks at Jason. Her stare is very cold and icy.
Robin: The wishes of the Commission and my authority will be respected Jason.
Either you will respect me or I will arrange to have you removed. I want to live
in peace with you Jason. But if you want to fight a war with me I will fight
back. And I will hit you hard. Just ask Moreno. He got the message when I
destroyed his warehouse. I will send you a harder message. I have to go Jason.
Robin and Jason then leave the room. They rejoin everyone. Robin signals to John
that it is time to go. John resumes his position behind her and they begin to
walk out. Robin stops and looks at Jason.
Robin: Remember what I said Mr. Morgan. If you want a War I will fight you.
Goodbye.
Robin then leaves with. Robin and John head to her limo. They get in and head
back to Luke’s. Jason comes up to Sonny. They talk.
