Chapter 2:
**AT THE HOSPITAL**
Brenda is sitting down in the waiting room, her hands on her head, looking down,
as if guilty. Luke is sitting down.
Luke: You ok, Brenda?
Brenda: I'll survive.
Luke: Funny how you would act this way over a guy who left you standing at the
altar.
Brenda looks at him as if to say ''What are you talking about?''
Brenda: You wouldn't understand, nobody would.
Stefan comes from around the corner and stops in front of Brenda and Luke.
Luke: What do YOU want?
Stefan: What has happened?
Brenda: Gun shot, one wounded.
Luke: Funny how these things always happen at my place of business.
Bobbie comes out of the ER. Brenda and Luke get up to hear the news.
Bobbie: He is going to be just fine. The bullet was a little hard to get out,
since it was deep in, but we did it successfully.
Brenda smiles and is crying a little bit, crying of joy.
Brenda: May I see him?
Bobbie: Sure, one at a time.
Bobbie smiles as Brenda runs into Sonny's hospital room.
Bobbie: Oh Luke, how did this happen?
Luke: I don't know! All of a sudden there was a shot in my place, and Sonny and
I came out to investigate. And Brenda, never listening, comes out to find
Sonny, not aware that she put herself in danger. Sonny saw the guy aim for
Brenda so he jumped in front of her, taking the bullet.
Bobbie: Everything bad always happens with you. First Carly, then…
Luke: I know, I know. And Barbara, I am so sorry for all those things. You
have been mad for a long time, and I thought that nobody could stay mad at me
for long.
Luke smiles, and so does Bobbie.
Bobbie: Yeah, true.
Stefan: Barbara, may I see you for a moment?
Bobbie: Sure. I'll be right back Luke.
Stefan and Bobbie walk away from the outside of Sonny's room and they sit down
in the seating area.
Bobbie: Before you say anything, Stefan I just wanted to say I'm sorry for
drugging you, or trying to at least. I know it's a little late for it, but I’m
sorry.
Stefan: I have forgiven you for that already. But what I came to talk to you is
about...
Bobbie: Katherine... there she is. Guess you better get going.
Stefan: Yeah. May we continue this conversation at a later time?
Bobbie: Sure, I'm here until midnight.
Stefan gets up and walks over to Katherine. Bobbie gets up and walks over to
where Luke is.
Katherine: So, what was happening over there between you two?
Stefan: Business, Katherine.
Katherine: Any ''business'' that I should know about?
Stefan: Katherine, may we go back to Wyndemere? I have something of most
importance to tell you.
Katherine: Sure.
Katherine and Stefan go on the elevator as Bobbie watches.
Luke: Hey, what's up with you and the count?
Bobbie: Nothing, just talking about patients.
Luke: Oh.
Bobbie: It IS my job to keep him informed Luke, whether you like it or not.
**IN SONNY'S HOSPITAL ROOM**
Brenda: Hey Sonny. .
She sits down next to his bed.
Brenda: Bobbie says you are going to be okay. I was so happy.
She looks at Sonny with pity in her eyes.
Brenda: Sonny, I have so many questions for you once you are out of here, so
many.
Sonny: So why don't you ask them now?
Brenda looks at Sonny in shock, Sonny was awake! And speaking as well!
Brenda: Let me go get Bobbie!
She turns to get up, but Sonny grabs her wrist.
Sonny: No. Not yet. Sit.
Brenda sits down.
Sonny: What was it that you wanted to ask me?
**AT WYNDEMERE**
Katherine and Stefan walk in through the door of Wyndemere. Katherine, sits
down on the couch, so does Stefan.
Katherine: So, you have kept me in suspense long enough, what do you want to
tell me?
Stefan: Katherine, I think that we should see other people.
