Chapter 12: Did you love him?

“You and Nikolas… had a child?!” Lucky asked, he felt himself get weak. “How?
Elizabeth did you love him?”

“No, Lucky I never loved him, I don’t know what I was thinking,” Liz explained.
“We had a child together and he became angry. He even threatened to kill her.”

“You have a daughter?” Sarah asked.

“Yes…” Liz sighed. “Her name’s Alexandria, she’s the princess to the Cassadine
throne.”

Everyone looked to Liz. Liz lowered her head once again. “God, if Nikolas finds
out I told you that, he’d kill her.”

“What? his own daughter?”

“Yes, he would've killed me as well if he got the chance,” Liz sighed sadly. She
looked to Sarah. “That’s why I lied…I’m so sorry Sarah…”

“Its okay Lizzie,” Sarah got up and approached Liz and gave her a hug. “I’m just
glad that you’re alive.”

“I am too Sarah…” tears rolled down Liz’s cheeks. “I am too.”

Lucky watched as Liz and Sarah were crying. He felt so angry for what Nikolas
did, but he wasn’t sure about Liz. Did she love Nikolas?

*+*+*

Nikolas laughed at Helena’s comment, it was true. Suddenly, Alexandria started
to cry again. “God, shut that baby up!” he screamed, causing Alexandria to cry
more.

“Nikolas, how dare you speak to your daughter like that!” shouted Hannah, when
she heard Nikolas screaming.

“She’s not my daughter, she’ll never be my daughter!” Nikolas stated coldly.
“I’ll never love that PRINCESS as long as I live!”

“Nikolas, what has gotten into you?” Hannah asked, holding Alexandria, who was
still crying. “She’s your daughter, you and Elizabeth created her, you must love
her now that her mother is gone.”

“Oh, her mother?” Nikolas laughed. “Elizabeth isn’t dead…she never was.”

“What are you talking about, she’s dead.” Hannah became frustrated. “Nikolas let
it go! Elizabeth is dead, she killed herself.”

Nikolas approached Hannah and slapped her in the face. “She’s alive!” he
screamed. “And I’m going to find her!” he turned his back and started to cry.

Hannah almost fell to the floor with Alexandria in her arms. She approached
Nikolas and touched his shoulder. Nikolas turned around and saw Hannah, thinking
it was Liz, standing there with Alexandria smiling at him.

“Elizabeth…I’ve found you,” He said softly.

“Nikolas, I’m Hannah…” Hannah stated.

Nikolas approached Hannah and touched her face gently. “I knew I’d never lose
you…” Nikolas looked into Hannah’s eyes, thinking they were Liz’s. Hannah looked
up to Nikolas, oh how long she waited for this day. Nikolas closed his eyes and
opened them to see Hannah there.

“Hannah?” he asked.

“Yes…” she said softly. She wanted to kiss him so bad, she wanted him to want
her. She inched her lips to his. Nikolas knew what was going on, he pushed her
away.

“What are you trying to do?” Nikolas asked.

“I’m sorry, I’ll go to the nursery,” Hannah stammered. “I’m very sorry.” She
headed off.

Nikolas watched as Hannah left, he needed to move on. He was punishing himself
just a little too much, he needed to let it go…Liz was dead and she wasn’t
coming back. He headed downstairs and outside, he needed to think to himself.

Sarah and Liz pulled away from the hug and smiled at each other. “Sarah, what
about gram?” Liz asked. “I mean, I guess I can live with her now.”

“Lizzie,” Sarah said softly.

“Yeah? What is it?” Liz asked, noting Sarah’s facial expression.

“Elizabeth, your grandmother is dead…” Lucky said quietly.

Liz felt her face lose all color, she felt like she was about to pass out. She
couldn’t believe it, she didn’t want to believe it, it was too hard for her to
believe that her grandmother was dead. “No,” Liz stood up. She looked to Sarah.
“It’s not true, you’re lying, Sarah tell me he’s lying!”

“Lizzie its true…” Sarah said, looking down. “Gram passed away when she thought
you were murdered.”

Liz stood there very still. Lucky approached Liz and touched her arm. Liz swiped
her arm away. “Don’t touch me!” she cried. “No one come near me! Its all my
fault…”

“Lizzie, I’m sorry,” Sarah said.

“No, I’m sorry Sarah!” Liz cried. “I’m sorry for not getting away from Nikolas
sooner, I’m sorry for causing so much grief, I’m sorry that because of me Gram
is dead!”

“It’s not your fault!” Lucky cried. “Elizabeth, when I thought you were dead…I
blamed myself for leaving you there on the docks alone and helpless.”

“Maybe I should blame myself,” Liz said. She wiped away her tears and looked at
everyone in the room. “I’m outta here.” She walked off, out of the house. Lucky
ran after her, when he bumped into someone.

“Lucky, nice meeting you here,” Marlene smiled.

“Oh, hey Marlene,” Lucky looked behind her to see Liz running off.

“Are you okay?” she asked.

“Yeah…” Lucky moved Marlene out of the way. “I have to go.” Lucky ran after Liz.
When he caught up to her, he spun her around.

“What do you want?” Liz asked, tears rolling down her cheeks.

“Nothing…Elizabeth, I want you,” Lucky held her hand.

Liz looked at Lucky’s hand with hers. She looked up and came closer to Lucky.
Lucky brought her closer to him and comforted her in his arms.

“This was my fault…I can’t change it…” Liz cried into Lucky’s shirt.

“No…we didn’t know what was going to happen…I didn’t know I was going to leave.”

“I didn’t want to leave you Lucky…” Liz whispered. “I never did…I wanted to wait
for you.” Liz slowly pulled away and looked at her feet.

“Elizabeth…I need to ask you something…about Nikolas,” Lucky stated. “I need you
to tell me the truth.”

“Okay…” Liz whispered.

“Did you love Nikolas?” he asked.

Liz looked up to Lucky. ‘Why is he asking me this? of course I didn’t.’ She
looked into his eyes, she needed to tell him everything, even if it meant her
life.

“Lucky, I never loved Nikolas,” Liz explained. “The truth is…I tried to love
him.”

“What about your daughter?” Lucky asked. “Was she created by love?”

Liz got quiet. “Lucky…I thought maybe if Nikolas and I had a child, it might
bring me to…”

“To what Elizabeth?” Lucky asked. “To forget me? to forget all the memories we
had?”

“Lucky…I thought I could move on…and forget you…” Liz said softly. “Then I
realized I couldn’t.”

“You had his baby, and you tried to forget me? Elizabeth are you sure you didn’t
love him?” Lucky became hurt. She wanted to forget him? She wanted to move on
with Nikolas? It didn’t seem right at all.

“Lucky, I never loved him!” Liz cried. “God, I feel like a broken record…I
wanted to forget you, because I didn’t think you loved me!”

“Why did you think I didn’t love you?” Lucky asked, tears started to form in his
eyes.

“Lucky…you left…what was I supposed to think? I wanted to marry you and only
you!” Liz became frustrated. “I ended up marrying Nikolas Cassadine, prince to
the Cassadine throne, my sister’s ex-boyfriend!”

Lucky stared at Liz, not making a move or sound. All he did was stand there, and
listen to what Liz had to say. Why didn’t he ask her to marry him when he got
the chance?

“You know how it made me feel when I was there on that island with Nikolas
Cassadine? I made me feel so trapped! I was a prisoner! I’m married to Nikolas
Cassadine and I’m his wife! You know how much that makes me sick? I cringe when
I think about that fact!” Liz stared at Lucky. “You see, when Nikolas and I made
love…I felt so guilty…so used, so dirty.” Liz explained. “I feel like he never
wanted Alexandria…he hated her for some reason…like as if she wasn’t his.”

“Elizabeth, I never realized…”

“That’s right Lucky, you can never place yourself in my shoes…what did you do
when you left? You probably moved on yourself.”

“No…listen to me Elizabeth!” he cupped her face with his hands. “I never could
think myself of moving on.”

“Why didn’t you Lucky?” Liz asked softly.

“I love you Elizabeth…I always have and always will,” Lucky looked into her
eyes. “You complete me Elizabeth, you’re my soul mate, you’re my life…I’d die if
you weren’t here with me.”

“Lucky…I love you so much…” Liz whispered. “I wanted to die when I thought I’d
never see you again…”

Lucky, unexpectedly took Liz into his arms and gave her a passionate kiss. Liz
placed her arms around Lucky’s neck and kissed him back, which left them both
breathless. They released and gasped for air. “Oh, how I missed you.” Lucky
whispered.

“I missed you so much Lucky…” Liz replied.

From behind, someone saw the two looking into each other’s eyes. “Elizabeth
Webber alive? It can’t be?”
