Chapter 28
Troi was on her way to the bridge for the meeting of the bridge officer's. She
was very concerned about Robin. When she arrived at the bridge she noticed that
the crew was upset. The mood was the same as when Tasha Yar was killed. They
were all hoping that they wouldn’t have to go though that with Robin. They
noticed Dr. Crusher come in.
Picard: How is Robin?
Crusher: Robin will be fine. It wasn't as bad of a wound as it looked. She was
shot directly over where her heart would be if she were completely human. But
Robin's heart is lower then it is in a human. The bullet went through her lungs
and she lost a lot of blood. But the damage was able to be repaired. She will
make a full recovery.
Picard: All right we need to decide what to do about Jason Morgan and Nikolas
Cassadine. Any idea's?
Troi: Nikolas Cassadine is not a problem. His family has knowledge of our time.
Riker: And Jason? How is he doing?
Troi: He is upset. He saw his girlfriend shot in front of him. And then he is
suddenly brought here. He needs answers.
Picard: Do we tell him?
Riker: That should be Robin's decision. She knows the facts and issues involved.
Troi: I agree sir. Robin has the knowledge.
Picard: Doctor. How long do we wait?
Crusher: Robin's body has the ability to heal quickly. In 24 hours she should
recover enough to return to duty.
Picard: That quickly?
Crusher: Her body is already repairing the damage. Every hour to her is like a
day’s recovery to us.
Picard: All right. Doctor, Counselor. Discuss this with Robin and I will agree
to her recommendations. And now what do we do about Nikolas? He let Jason know
about us.
Crusher: It would have been worse if he did nothing. If Robin died then they
would have learned about her not being fully human. And if she made it to the
hospital she would have been in surgery and during the surgery that would see
that she isn’t human. So Nikolas helped keep the secret.
Troi: I agree Captain. And we should discuss that with Robin to.
Picard: All right.
The meeting ends. 36 hours later Troi comes to Robin's bed. She sees Robin
waking up. She faces Troi. She asks what happened. Troi explains.
