Chapter 15

Liz: “Lucky, I can't get you out of here. Your still sick.”

Lucky: (scoffs) “I am not. I feel perfect. But what will really make me feel
better is being with you. Out of this place.”

Liz sighed and looked into Lucky's eyes. His big blue eyes. She swears she can
see his soul in there. If she looks harder, she'd probably see hers.

Liz: “Ok, ok… I can't resist you.”

Lucky jumps up and embraces Liz in a hug.

Lucky: (whispering) “Thank you, Elizabeth.”

Laura sat down in an overstuffed armchair with an odd pattern on it. She sat up
when Helena walked into the room.

Helena: “Lasha… how nice to see you.”

Laura: “Cut the crap Helena. What are you doing to my family?”

Helena: “You mean MY family, Lasha, Lucas is my grandson, and the rightful heir
of the Cassadine fortune.”

Laura: (with anger) “YOU DON'T KNOW THAT! *I* Don't even know that! Dammit
Helena, we don't know for sure if Lucky is Stavros' or Luke's.”

Laura tried to hide her tears, but failed as they started rolling down her face.
She put her hands up to her face and quickly brushed them away, then looked
Helena straight in the eye.

Laura: (serious) “I am not fooling around Helena. Leave my family ALONE! Leave
us alone.”

Helena laughed and stared at Laura.

Helena: “Dear Lasha… Lucas is my grandson. Nothing so good could come from that
Luke Spencer. Lucas WILL take his rightful place at the head of the Cassadines,
and NO ONE will stop me!”

She briskly walked out of the room, leaving Laura to ponder her threat.

------------------------

Nikolas read through the papers over and over. He couldn't believe it. He turned
the papers over and looked away from them, blinked, then looked back, hoping
they would change. Nope. It still said it in big red letters. He blinked back
tears. He couldn't believe it. Another lie.

-----------------------

Luke walked through the door of the Spencer house and plopped down on the couch.
He looked over at the liquor cabinet and shook his head. He needed his thoughts
to be clear. He had to figure out what to do about this. Was Helena lying? Of
course she was, that was a given. But could this possibly, be true? Luke shut
his eyes and tried to think back to sixteen years before. He sighed. Maybe
another time. Nothing was coming to him. Nothing. He glanced back over at the
cabinet.

Luke: (mutters) “Dammit Luke, your so weak.”

He got up and poured himself a drink, wallowing in self-pity.
