Chapter 19
Liz lay in Lucky's arms for what seemed like forever. She opened her eyes and
looked up at Lucky who was still sleeping. She smiled and ran her hand across
his chin. She couldn't believe what they did last night. It was so beautiful.
Liz took a deep breath and her smile got wider. Lucky stirred slightly and
quickly fell back asleep. Liz sighed and looked at him some more. He looked so
peaceful when he slept, but she really wanted him to wake up. She shifted
cautiously in Lucky's arms, to get more comfortable, when she heard a sigh. She
looked at Lucky who withdrew his arms from around her waist and rolled over to
his side. Liz looked at Lucky, perplexed at why he would do that.
Liz: "Lucky?"
No answer. Liz got up from the bed and knelt down besides the side of the bed
Lucky was sleeping on.
Liz: "Lucky? Wake up."
She grabbed his hand in hers and caressed it. Lucky's eyelids fluttered but
nothing else happened.
Liz frowned and figured he was just tired. She decided to shower and get
dressed. She kissed Lucky lightly on the lips and went to get ready.

Luke shifted uncomfortably in his chair at the club. He started muttering to
himself about everything when there was a knock at the door. He looked up
expectantly.
Luke: "Laura?"
A male voice from the other side answered.
Voice: "No. But I need to talk to you. Can I come in?"
Luke raised his eyebrows and laughed as he lit a cigar.
Luke: "Sure, come on in, but don't get dirt on my floor."
The figure walked in and threw something down on Luke's desk.
Luke looked up at the man and took the papers. The cigar dropped out of his
mouth and rolled on the floor.

Liz walked back into her room. Lucky should be awake now, she took at least an
hour to get ready, she thought. She walked into the room and saw Lucky still
huddled up on the side of the bed. She smiled and crawled in bed with him and
wrapped her arms around him. When there was no movement she propped herself up
on her elbows and turned Lucky's face towards her.
Liz: "Oh my god…"
