Chapter 1
It has been a year since Brenda and Sonny had seen each other. She still had no
idea why he left her that night. She just knew he was supposed to be at the
docks with her at 9pm, like they planned, and he never came. She later found out
that he left town without a word. It took Brenda a long time to get through that
pain. She built herself back up from almost nothing. And she had figured that
Sonny, the only person she ever loved would never be in her life again.
(Brenda alone at the docks)
B: Its just me now Sonny. Just me. I don't get why you did this to me, why. I am
done crying and yelling and trying to figure out what I did this time to make
you run. I am just done.
Meanwhile, on a plane back to PC, Sonny is looking out the window, thinking of
Brenda. He left her that night because that Reese character threatened their
lives. Sonny had to deal with it, he couldn't let Brenda be hurt anymore by his
business. It took a year to settle all that Rivera business. He knew that things
were safe for them at the moment, but that they wouldn't be able to stay in PC.
He was coming home to tell Brenda that he was leaving the mob and wanted her to
come with him.
S: Baby, I just want you to come with me. I am sorry about leaving and not
saying anything. I love you and I want to spend the rest of our lives together.
What are you thinking, you idiot, she is going to be furious at you for leaving.
It is not going to be easy, hell, for all you know, she may be seeing someone
else, maybe Jax. (Saying out loud) I don't care… I have to try.
Back in PC…(Lois has returned, as has Robin. And Julia is still around. Lois and
Ned are not back together, but they are working on it. And Robin and Jason are
working through their problems… as for Jasper and Julia…wait and find out)
At Luke’s…
L: Hey Bren, where have you been?
B: Sorry Lo, I was just out walking and thinking.
L: About Sonny?
B: I just miss him so much. I tried to hate him, I don't. I don't even know that
I want him back, I just want to know why he left.
L: Well, maybe one day you will find out the truth.
B: Maybe.
L: What would you do if you saw him, right now?
B: I don't think I could say anything more than hi.
L: That would be a start.
Sonny's flight has landed and he has gathered his luggage. He immediately heads
to Luke’s. He knew that Luke would know what was going on and would be able to
provide him some safety. Plus, he needed to find Brenda and figure out what he
would say to her.
Luke: Ladies…what can I get you?
B: I'll have a burger and a diet coke.
L: Make that two.
Luke: I don't mean to be sour here, but Brenda my dear, you are not looking so
good.
B: Thanks Luke.
Luke: Thinking of Sonny?
L: Who else?
Luke: He'll be back, he loves you, you know that.
The doors open and in walks Sonny. Lois just looks up and stares.
L: Bren, remember what we were just talking about? What you would do if Sonny
walked in right now?
B: Yeah?
L: Well, honey, he's here. (Brenda turns around and her eyes immediately
connect with Sonny's)
Sonny has stopped dead in his tracks. The last thing he expected was to see
Brenda there. He didn't know what to do.
B: (turning back around) Oh, Lois, I don't think I can do this.
L: Just relax.
(Luke brings drinks over. Then spots Sonny at door)
Luke: Oh. (Looking at Brenda) Darling, I'll talk to him. You do what you need to
do. If you need to jet, go, I'll take care of him.
B: Thanks Luke, but right now, I don't think I can move.
L: I'll take care of her, you take care of him.
Luke: You got it.
Luke walks over to Sonny.
S: I didn't think she would be here.
Luke: Well, she comes here to see my gorgeous face. (Smiling)
S: She is so beautiful. So beautiful… (He’s mesmerized)
Luke: Come on partner, I think you need a drink.
S: I need to talk to her.
Luke: Not right now… that wouldn't be good. Come on, let’s go. (He takes him to
the bar) Sit down and don't turn around.
S: Oh man, this is bad, huh? Does she hate me Luke?
Luke: I don't know that I would call it hate.
S: Does she want to kill me?
Luke: That is possible. (Sonny looks so miserable) Now listen Sonny, you left
her, without a word. What do you expect? She was just saying before that she
missed you. But, I think she is in shock right now, like you.
S: How has she been?
Luke: That my friend, will take a long time to explain.
Just then, the doors opened. Lois looked over and froze.
B: Lo, what is it? You are scaring me, what?
L: Brenda, we've got to get you out of here.
B: Why?
L: Look over at the door.
B: (her face froze in terror) Maslow.
L: Come on Brenda.
Over to Sonny/Luke.
Luke: Oh shit.
Sonny: What?
Luke: Partner, I'll be right back.
Sonny turns and looks at the guy at the door, who is staring at Lois and Brenda.
Luke has gone over to him.
Luke: I told you I don't want you in here.
Maslow: I have business to deal here.
Luke: Deal elsewhere. My club is not open to your kind.
Maslow: Well, your friend Julia and her husband… Jax, doesn't seem to mind.
Luke: They are not my friends.
Jax and Julia enter.
Julia: Luke, Maslow, is there a problem?
Luke: Not here.
Julia: Luke, I promise nothing will happen here.
Luke: I am holding you to that. I will be watching you.
Jax sees Sonny at the bar… and flies over there.
Jax: So, you decided to come back to town?
Sonny: Go away Jax.
Jax: Not until you tell me why you hurt Brenda that way.
Sonny: It is none of your damn business.
To Lois/Brenda
B: Oh, now Jax and Julia are here. Jax is fighting with Sonny, right?
L: He is.
B: I need to get out of here before I am sick.
L: Lets go. Maslow is at the table with Julia. And I think we should make it
past Sonny.
They get up and quickly leave. Just as they are at the door…
Sonny: Brenda, wait.
Lois: Not now Corinthos.
Sonny: But, I need to talk to you Brenda.
Brenda doesn't say anything, she is frozen. Maslow hears Brenda's name, gets up
and walks to her. She sees him and freezes with fear.
